Before you start a YouTube channel, you want to have a strategy in place. You want to know what your next steps are going to be, but you aren't even sure how to start crafting a video strategy. In today's video, I'm going to give you the first steps you need to take to start mapping out your video content strategy. Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips With Trena, where I provide online entrepreneurs tips and tricks on how to create a video content strategy that works for them and their business. So let's jump into the first things you need to do to start crafting a video strategy for your business. The first thing I want you to do is get a calendar out and start writing down all the big dates in your business. Do you have a launch? Do you have a webinar? Do you have some free training that you want to promote? Think about all the big things that are coming up in the next quarter. You really want to make sure your video strategy matches your business strategy. That way you can create videos leading up to a launch. That's really going to promote, promote and benefit that launch. So you want to create videos that are going to lead people not only from YouTube who are just finding you from your videos, but also your current viewers and your current email subscribers to get excited about what you have coming out. You also want to use these videos to create excitement, to educate, and just start getting people ready for what you're about to launch. That's what a great video strategy is going to do for your business strategy. So in regards to that, the next step after listing out all of the big launches or the big things you have coming up in your business is to start thinking about videos that are going to benefit these launches. Maybe they don't know that they need this for their business. Maybe they need to be educated. Maybe you need to debunk some myths about what it is that you're about to sell. Your videos can really be that additional platform to convince people that they need what it is you're about to launch. So start to think what kind of videos are really going to help you launch your program or your product or your service. Then finally start start researching your videos. There is no point in posting a video to YouTube if you don't optimize it properly. Start researching keywords and phrases that are actually being searched on YouTube. Not just keywords and phrases you think will help your launch, but actual searched keywords and phrases. Use YouTube search use Google Keyword Tool Planner and one of my favorite tools to use for YouTube is TubeBuddy to help me find those keywords, keywords and phrases that are going to get me ranked on YouTube. Which means on the front page of YouTube search results to get more people watching my content, leading them into my sales funnel into my launch.
