Really, A Super Easy YouTube Filming Set Up

This is a YouTube video titled "Really, A Super Easy YouTube Filming Set Up" created in September 2022. The content features a single speaker explaining practical tips for setting up affordable and effective lighting and camera equipment for YouTube video production. The speaker also promotes a free YouTube challenge starting in September to help viewers improve their video content and grow their channels.
Pod and I have a ring light. But because I have a window here, ideally, I would want to record my videos in front of this window because look how great that lighting is. A problem is that's not set up perfectly for my backdrop for my YouTube videos. Maybe I could convince my husband to do some remodeling in here, but I highly doubt it. So instead, I have to sit with my window to my left, and then I need to balance out the light. So one thing that I do is I bought curtains to close this. And then I have a soft box light, which I will move here to balance the light light to my right. You see how it's coming in at an angle? Now, you could absolutely go lighting heavy with, like, key lights and hair lights and all of that extra stuff, but who's got time for that? I don't. The least amount of tech, the least amount of things that I can screw up in these videos. So that's all the lighting that I use. If you think the lighting looks great, go ahead and hit that, like, button to let me know. Otherwise, maybe I need to revisit my lighting. Now, I will talk about one more thing with my setup, and it's my decorations back there. I honestly don't try to overthink this, because this also has to be workable for me. I have to use it in my office. I try to keep it as simple as possible again. Now, let's talk about that cell phone setup, because you can use your cell phone. All right, so what I have going on here is actually a kit that I bought called a Lume Cube. And honestly, I think if you're going to use your cell phone, this is absolutely one of the best places to start, because Lume Cube actually comes with the tripod. It also has this little bendable clip right here that goes on the tripod. It also has this clip that you put your phone in there. It also has the microp has, again, like, a little clip in here for you to put the microphone here plugs right into your phone, and it comes with this light. Another option for a light that I bought for my daughter when she was doing virtual schooling was this ring light from Amazon. And I still use this for my TikToks as well. It clips right onto your phone, and this one clips right onto this little gadget here. And they're chargeable, so you have no wires right here. You could take this outside. You could take this anywhere in your house and have an entire setup with just this Lume Cube. Now, one more thing. That I will share is make sure you wipe the camera before you do any recording. And that goes for the back of the camera as well. Because if there's any kind of smudges on your camera, whether it is an actual camera or your cell phone camera, it's really going to affect your quality. All right, so what do you think about quality here? This is all on my cell phone with the Lume cube light and microphone versus on my camera. Obviously, there's going to be a little bit of a difference because this setup is a bit more expensive than the $100 Lume Cube setup because I do have that $100 ring light. The camera is a couple hundred do dollars as well, and so is the microphone. So you do have to adjust that. But if this is good enough for you, and this is going to allow you to get on YouTube right now, this is going to work on YouTube. This cell phone setup right here. Now that you see how simple your video setup can be and you can still get professional level videos.
