Should You Start a YouTube Channel in 2018

This is a YouTube video titled "Should You Start a YouTube Channel in 2018" created in March 2018. The content features Trena, the channel host, delivering a detailed monologue aimed at creative business owners about the pros and cons of starting a YouTube channel, strategies for success, and promoting her YouTube Bootcamp course. The video is a single-speaker presentation focused on YouTube growth and marketing strategies.
Are you thinking the ship has already sailed on YouTube? You think it's already saturated and you probably aren't able to stand out on YouTube. Now, in today's video, I'm going to share with you whether or not I think you should jump on the YouTube ship or just totally skip it. Hi, my name is Trena, and welcome to my channel Tips with Trena. Here on this channel, I help creative business owners like you use YouTube to grow your business. And today we're going to be talking about the pros and cons of getting started on YouTube. And. And if 2018 is the right time for you to get on YouTube or if the ship's already sailed. So the first thing I want to talk about is some of the cons about YouTube. The first thing is YouTube is a long game. So if you need instant exposure for a launch or to fill your client books, right now, YouTube's probably not the spot for you. You're probably going to need to head over to Facebook and pay for some ads. But if you want to start building a Strategy here on YouTube so that it can start working for you day in and day out, even while you're sleeping, that's what YouTube's for, for you to come back, post consistently, and start building a tribe here. But it's going to take you a little time, right? The next con is, yeah, there are a lot of people on YouTube, and odds are, your niche people are probably talking about here on YouTube. But here's the thing. You probably have your own personality, you probably have your own spin. You probably have your own way of teaching. So be you on your videos, and that's how you're gonna stand out, even if somebody's already doing what you're doing on YouTube. Okay, so let's talk about the biggest con that I get when it comes to YouTube. And it's time. You don't have time to film, you don't have time to edit, you don't have time to upload. You've got all these other things going on. And yeah, YouTube does take some time. All of those reasons that I just listed. You've got to sit down and film. You've got to plan your strategy. You got to script your videos. Ain't nobody got time for that. But. But here's the secret that nobody tells you. It ends up saving you time in the long run because you're creating these videos. You now have email newsletter content. You now have Instagram content. You now have Facebook content. You now have blog content. And on top of that you now have these videos on YouTube that are working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as, like your mini sales team. So now when people find you on YouTube and they watch your videos and they start to binge on your videos, they're going to know whether or not they want to hire you. And you don't even have to have that discovery call with them because they're already sold. They've just spent an hour watching your videos and they know you're the person for them. You've got a course, they want to buy it. You've got a checklist, they want to sign up for it. So that's what's really cool about YouTube is it ends up saving you time in the long run because these videos are like your mini sales team working for you all the time. Now let me talk about. YouTube is the place you've got to be in 2018. And that's right, the ship definitely has not sailed for YouTube. And you still have time to get in on this amazing platform in 2018. And here's why. YouTube is still the second largest search engine in the world. That's right. Second only behind Google. And Since Google owns YouTube, YouTube videos show up on Google, so why not have videos popping up on Google? Your videos are actually more attractive on search results and show up more than a blog post. So how long have you been trying to get that one blog post to show up on the front page of Google search? You could probably do it a lot easier with a YouTube video. And until Facebook becomes a search engine, there's really no comparison here when it comes to organic search and not having to pay to play. The next reason why YouTube is so important is it's a social media platform. A lot of people don't think of YouTube this way, but if you look below this video, you'll see comments section. One of the first ways I got sucked into this YouTube world was when I was pregnant with my first child. I. I didn't have anybody else that was experiencing the same things as me. None of my friends were pregnant. So I somehow got to YouTube and I started connecting with a community of other people who were pregnant with their first child asking the same questions. I found a community, and that's what YouTube can be for you. It can be the hub of your community because you're allowing them to get to know you on video and then you can interact and engage with them in the comment section. And what's really great is YouTube's going to be rolling out new Features like reels, which is similar to an Instagram story here on the YouTube platform. Plus a community tab where you can post status updates, polls to really engage your audience and just start to build your tribe here on this platform. Another reason is YouTube ain't for cat videos anymore. If you've seen any of the news recently, YouTube TV has rolled out and it's doing amazing. People are starting to see YouTube as an actual viable place for video content, to watch TV to go for how to videos. It's not the weird cat video place anymore. People are really giving YouTube credibility. So why not have your videos on this platform that people are already getting used to and going to for regular video content like TV shows? And this is the biggest benefit of YouTube in 2018, its reach. Over 1.8 billion people are on YouTube logged in every single month. This isn't even counting for the people who aren't logged into YouTube, they're watching at least one hour of video content every single week. So what should be your next step? You've got to figure out how you can stand out. And more importantly, you've got to have a strategy for YouTube and your business. That's exactly why I created my course, YouTube Bootcamp. It basically gives you the A to Z on how to be successful on YouTube and use it to grow your business from setting up your brand new channel to editing, to how to get more views by promoting your videos and creating these little pieces of promotional material that you might not be creating. What's great about this specific course is you can take the pieces that are important to you and get started right now. So you already have a channel and but you don't know how to optimize that video. You can totally skip the first part and get started on optimization strategy. Or maybe you don't have the confidence yet to be on camera. I've totally got a section in there just for you so you can build up that confidence before you even hit record. Plus I've got an entire section on how you can analyze your videos and analyze your channel to make sure you can continue to grow every single month and to make sure you're converting those viewers into into buying clients or into people buying your courses. So this course is basically for anybody who knows nothing about YouTube, for people who are on YouTube but aren't sure how to do better at YouTube, or for people who are totally afraid to get on camera and need that extra help then start their channel. This is for all of you because I got something special for every single one of you. Now, if you're ready to jump into this course right now, before the doors close, make sure you click that link that's down in the description box and on the screen right now. I'll just let you know. There are a couple different ways that you can sign up for this course, and the most popular one is the one that's including group calls with me. This is so important because I'm holding you accountable every single month. How many courses have you bought? And they're catching virtual dust in the online world, right? Well, with this course, I want to make sure you take it, complete it, and implement it by having these monthly calls so you can ask me anything if you get stuck. And no more just quitting that course and forgetting to pick it back up. I'm here for you every single month to answer those questions. And that's where my students are seeing the most results are getting on these group calls with me. So jump over there, check out some of the testimonials, see some of the awesome work my previous students are doing, and I'd love to have you join. Thank you so much for watching, and I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
