Simple ways I repurpose my YouTube videos into Instagram reels

This is a YouTube video titled "Simple ways I repurpose my YouTube videos into Instagram reels" created in September 2024. The content features Trina Little sharing detailed strategies on how she simplifies content creation by repurposing YouTube videos into Instagram reels and other formats using tools like ChatGPT. She discusses her content planning, promotion tactics, and upcoming virtual event "Evergreen and Evermore Conference" aimed at helping course creators and coaches leverage YouTube effectively. The video is a solo presentation with interactive elements such as live chat engagement but does not include multiple speakers.
Then double check. We're live everywhere. This is the fourth session this week in the Simplicity series that I was having. This Simplicity series is specifically for how to simplify your content strategy using YouTube and also how to simplify using YouTube, because YouTube seems like a lot of work, but it actually simplifies your life. So on Monday, we talked about three ways that I make money super easy from YouTube. Tuesday, I talked about easy ways to come up with video ideas and ways to make creating YouTube videos easier. Yesterday I showed you how I take my YouTube video and repurpose it into emails. Now, I realized yesterday I was not showing the Chat GTP prompt. So I did copy the email that Chat GTP created in yesterday's video in the comments and also the prompt that I used to get it. And I'm going to show you that here today. And today I'm going to show you how I use my YouTube content content to repurpose into reels. So real quickly, if you've ever watched a video from me, my name is Trina. I specialize in simplifying YouTube for course creators and coaches so that you can use YouTube as a lead generator, sales generator, client generator. I am going to be hosting a workshop or a virtual event next Tuesday called the Evergreen and Evermore Conference. So if you really liked what I was sharing this week on YouTube and you're interested in doing YouTube or. Or you're doing YouTube and you're not seeing the results you want, or you're doing YouTube and you want to be able to do it quicker, make sure you grab your ticket for next Tuesday, trinity.netforward/evergreen. Okay, so those of you that are here, if you're currently doing YouTube, say YouTube in the chat. And if you want to be doing YouTube in the future, say soon. All right, so YouTube means you're currently doing YouTube or soon means you really want to be doing it very soon. We're going to jump right into what I want to share here today. And I first want to preference this with reels in Instagram. So I've gotten a lot of comments on my ads and reels lately that say, well, if you're preaching YouTube, Trina, why are you here on Instagram? Great question, right? If I'm saying I want to avoid Instagram, why am I on Instagram? So here's the deal. So. Hi, Cynthia. I'm glad you want to be doing YouTube soon. Nikki. I know you're doing YouTube. I'm working with Nikki. She's a client of mine, MJR Slim. Soon Amy soon. All right. And also on Instagram over here. Jocelyn must be doing it soon. Us. Plus dad is on YouTube and from Michigan is on YouTube too. All right, so let me share why I'm on Instagram. As you heard me mention, I am currently promoting a virtual event. So I'm in promotion mode. When I'm in promotion mode, I'm going to show up as many places as possible to get as much visibility as possible. Okay, so that means I've been posting consistently over on Instagram for the last 10ish days. Now the thing about Instagram, 100% showing up, guess what's going to happen come October? I'm not going to be creating Instagram content. I'm not going to be wasting my time on Instagram content. I will if I'm feeling creative, if I have extra time again, when do we ever have extra time? When we're running a business and have small kids. But I will create Instagram when I'm feeling motivated or excited or have an idea. Otherwise I focus all of my attention on YouTube always. I will have a weekly YouTube video video come out every single week, no matter what. Minus next week I'm going to be doing a live instead. But I know that as soon as I stop posting on Instagram in the next couple of weeks, my reach, my momentum, Instagram is going to die. Now, if I skip next week on YouTube, is anything going to happen to my YouTube channel? Absolutely not. Because YouTube will continue to push my content. Because I validated to YouTube that I have quality content. People are clicking on it, people are watching it. So even though it may not post on YouTube next week, I'm still going to have momentum. I'm still going to grow my email list next week from YouTube. I'm still going to get sales of my low ticket offers or maybe even my coaching program from YouTube. Even though I'm not posting, the YouTube algorithm is not going to suppress me, not going to punish me. Because I'm not posting next week, Instagram will. So just so that's clear, I will post on Instagram in promotional periods for, you know, four weeks at a time and that is it. So, so let me share what I do to take my YouTube videos and repurpose it to reels. And that is something I've been doing the last couple of weeks. A lot of my content on YouTube, I've been wanting it to put on Instagram and make it super easy. So I figured out the proper way to share my screen for you guys here today so that you can see exactly what I'm talking about. So yesterday I shared that I have and I'm going to double check that everywhere is good. If you're on Instagram, pop on over to YouTube. I am not setting up extra tech for Instagram because I just mentioned I love YouTube. So sorry, Instagram. Yesterday I shared this is what my video game plan looks like. So this is how I plan all my YouTube content, is how I teach all my clients to plan their YouTube content. When they focus with a game plan, not only do their videos perform better, but their audience retention is better and their click through rates are better because of the way I teach my clients how to plan a video. So this was my video game plan right here. And then I filmed it, recorded it, uploaded to YouTube and I got the transcript. Yesterday I showed you how I took this transcript and I put it into Chat GTP and wrote to it. Can you turn this transcript of my video into an email summary of why they should watch this video, make email informal and write it in a way that increases the likelihood they will go watch that video. And right there is that email. So if you're checking it out on YouTube, you can, you can see it pretty much doesn't need much editing from me. There are some things that I may tweak to still make it sound like me, but that was pretty easy. Within five seconds I had a weekly email for my list. Right. So the next thing that I'm going to do because I want to stay in the thread of this Chat gtp, because it already has the transcript, I'm now going to write to Chat gtp. Can you provide me three Instagram reel ideas to help promote this video and talk about the most important parts? Okay. There are no specific prompts that I do on Chat gtp. I just kind of talk to it, ask it what I want. If I don't get what I want initially, I'll just play around with it, keep asking it more questions. So the first thing that we're seeing, the first reel that's coming up with it says, here are three Instagram reel ideas to help promote your video. The first one says the concept is do a quick then versus now comparison comparison, showing what used to work and what needs to change. So it gives me an opening, it tells me what the second clip should be, it tells me what the third clip should be, and it tells me the call to action. So it's telling me to start with the text overlay. In 2018, selling courses and coaching was easy. I don't Say easy, so I need to tweak that. I would say it's easier than it is today in 2024. Then clip one says you mimicking an old school guru approach with flashy promises and easy sales and you know, kind of that scammy bro marketing from still happening. Then this is the second clip says transition to the text. In 2024, things are different. Clip number three, it says you talking directly to the camera, explaining that buyers are savvier and trust building is key. Mention how they can get all the details on how to adjust their strategy for 2025. In your new YouTube video, the call to action should be point to a link or tell them to watch the full breakdown on YouTube. Boom. Instagram reel. Pretty simple. There's also another one here, a second one as well, and a third one. So Instagram, I don't know why that thumbs up is there. So that's one way to do it. Now with Instagram, what I hate in addition to reels is captions. So I'm gonna say great. Now write me captions for all three of these reels. All right? And this is all within the thread of the transcript of my video. So it's using my information and it's writing it based on my information from my YouTube video. So the first one that I share with you, it says the caption should be siren, like a siren emoji. Newsflash. What worked in 2018 to sell courses, coaching and digital products won't work in 2025. Buyers have changed, the market is more competitive and the strategies need evolve. Light bulb emoji. If you're still using the same old tactics, it's time to rethink your approach. In my latest video, I break down how to adjust your strategy for the new era of online business. Trust me, this is a must watch if you want to keep thriving in 2025. Super easy, right? Those of you that are watching, are you currently using Chat GTP to help you repurpose any of your content? Just say chat in the chat if you are using Chat gtp. So I know if you all are familiar with this, I don't know how much in detail I need to go in with Chat gtp. Again, I don't have any special prompts or anything like that. I just use it kind of typing in the things that I want. But again, type in chat to the chat if you use it. The other piece of Instagram content that does tend to do well are carousels. So I may say, great. Now come up with a post for this video and include the caption. All right, so it's going to come up with a carousel post and then I may ask it as well. Great. Jacqueline, Jocelyn. Jocelyn is using chat GTP. I also see Mr. Slim Jim. I also see Cynthia, Amy and Nikki as well. So sometimes chat will kind of time out. So we're gonna. Sorry, my microphone is right in the way of Chat gtp so sometimes we have to reset it. The other thing you can ask it is to help you create stories as well. So like I said, it's starting with my YouTube transcript. I know no matter what, the only thing that I need to do each week is get my YouTube video out. Now if I'm feeling extra creative or I have extra time or kids aren't home sick from school. Right. I can go into Chat GTP and create additional content for Instagram. It is is not a priority of mine. It does not take time away from my clients, but it is something that I can utilize with the content. I've already put time into YouTube in my YouTube video will continue to live a year from now. So it's breaking down. It gave me eight different slides and then it gave me the caption as well. So if you're looking on YouTube, you're going to see exactly what it's saying. Right. And it's breaking it down. I want to show you one more way that I do repurpose reels into. Repurpose YouTube in YouTube into reels. Because sometimes I like to go on the fly or talk a little bit about my. My style. So I'll go to my video game plan and you can see in my video game plan right here I have places on my video game plan to help me come up with real or TikTok ideas. I don't do TikTok, but if you want to, and so I will. Okay, what's the hook of this TikTok? And then I'll grab three points. Those three points are probably going to come from. You can see in this video, I have it broken down by section. So section. I may say maybe my hook is going to be you're not going to be able to sell your courses and coaching programs the same way you did before in 2025. And here's what you need to know. So I may just talk the main points here. So point number one is, let me get to it. The landscape is shifting and people aren't believing you as much and it's taking longer for people to make a buying decision. The second reason why is other platforms are expiring content faster causing you to stay on a content creation. So you need to be thinking about putting all your time, your eggs into YouTube basket if you want to maximize what time you do have to promote your course. You also want to think about the urgency right now to invest in YouTube, the opportunity you have right now on YouTube and space in, spice in or sprinkle in a few more tips. And then the fourth one is actionable steps to get started. And so I may say go to my YouTube video now to watch the actionable steps that I give you in today's video on how to start using YouTube to be prepared for this change in the way we're selling courses and coaching programs in 2025. So I'll just use my script and use that to come up with a hook, endpoints and then a call to action. All right, what questions are you having? I'm going to take questions here in a moment. Stop screen share because that's really funky. Remember, I'm going to go into more detail next week at my Evergreen and Evermore conference. I'm going to I mentioned the opportunity of YouTube the very first session at 11am on Tuesday. I'm going to show you what opportunities are happening on YouTube right now. And I'm telling you right now there are way more opportunities to diversify your revenue streams and have more revenue streams without doing a whole much more extra work and opportunity is right now and I'm going to show you what that means for you and how you can start utilizing that. I'm also going to a panel of clients that I work with so you can hear from them how YouTube changed their business, what YouTube has done for their business and you can ask them questions directly. And then I'm going to wrap up that entire day with a 90 day plan. I'm going to walk you through what you need to do between now and New Year's to get your YouTube system in place so that you're creating consistent videos that are driving you leads that are driving you sales that are driving you clients and that are making you money by the time New Year's Eve comes around. So make sure you get your ticket. Shrinalittle.net Evergreen, you will get access to the replays for 7 days after that event. So if you're going to miss a time during that session, you will get the replays. But I'm telling you, you being there live is going to get more one on one time with me. I'm going to be asking, for example, so you could get your YouTube channel or your niche as an example. As I walk through things, I'm really going to involve everybody that is there as much as possible because I like involvement. I don't just like talking to the Internet void. So you're really going to get the most of it being there live. It is just going to be from 11:00am EAS standard time until about 3, 3:15 EST because I have to get the kids off the bus. So it is not a huge time commitment. We're gonna get to the point. I don't have fluff. I'm gonna give you the real deal stuff. So make sure you grab your ticket. Okay, so can you take Instagram reels and use them for YouTube shorts directly? For sure, I would. Sorry, let me grab a drink. The conference is at 11:00am Eastern Standard Time. What I would do is make sure you don't have the Instagram logo on it. So sometimes when I am repurposing my reels, I will do the video and before I save it, I'll go ahead and tap download. So I don't have like the Instagram logo on it. So you could totally. I don't commit to shorts right now, but I'm going to be talking more about shorts next week as well because I learned a few things in the last couple of weeks. Shorts and some things I'm going to be testing and I'm going to talk more about shorts at the Evergreen and Evermore conference. Gemma says, how much of an effect do the other social media platforms have on increasing your audience, YouTube views and overall revenue as opposed to if you just use YouTube alone? I will tell you that building an Instagram audience to get people on YouTube is not going to work. I use my platform for different things. So YouTube is my place to expand my audience to reach new people and to nurture y' all and give you great content. Instagram doesn't really help me expand my audience, but it allows me to nurture, share more. I share more creating that nurture content, meaning behind the scenes, sharing more about me, giving a little bit more. Like I said, behind the scenes content for Instagram. But being on Instagram does not help me grow my YouTube channel. So that's why Instagram's never a priority for me because all it does is help me just connect more with my followers on Instagram. Jocelyn, will you share what camera you use to record YouTube videos? I got too complicated trying to use a DSLR and lighting. Yes, I can. Absolutely. In fact, I would show you, but it's over There on a tripod. I use the Sony ZV1. It's a simple point and shoot. There is a rode micro microphone on it and I've been using that since the beginning of 2023. Make it super simple, super easy. I've done DSLR. I've also, you can see I've got a camera right back there with a fancy lens and it was too complicated. I like to keep my tech simple. That's why I'm not streaming both. Like setting up my Instagram super fancy. Because, guys, I hate tech. This is my specialty with YouTube. I make it super simple because if I don't make it simple, I'm not gonna do it either. So I. I've got a lot of things on my plate. I'm serving my clients every single day. I've got to put kids on the bus, get them off the bus. If they're sick, usually it's me taking care of them. I've got to make sure everything in my business is simplified so that I can keep my business moving forward with the things that I am doing. So if you want to learn how to simplify YouTube and make sure it fits in your business without taking over your life again, make sure you get that ticket to the Evergreen and Evermore conference for next week. All right, if there aren't any more questions, I'm considering going live next week to do channel audits. So if you all have a YouTube channel currently that you would like me to review, give you some feedback on it. What I would recommend to do to make your channel and your videos better, leave a comment under this video or if you're on Instagram, DM me if you're watching the replay on YouTube, leave your channel link below and let me know what's anything specifically you want me to look at. I'm really thinking about doing like a marathon event for audits and being on here as long as I need to. If I have a hundred channels, I mean, not go over two hours, but if a lot of audit requests, I'm going to stay here and do them as long as I need to. So you all can see just the small tweaks that you can make on your YouTube channel to get better results. Like YouTube doesn't take all this time that you're thinking about. If you focus on the right things, if you focus on the right strategy, you can get big momentum on YouTube which then moves the needle in your business. All right, so thank you all so much who have been here every single day. I know, Nikki, I see you popping up every single day. Thank you Nikki so much. Like I said, I am thinking about going live next week as well. We will see. And I hope I see most of you on Tuesday too. And if you have any questions about the Evergreen and Evermore Conference, message me. Leave a comment below. Email me trina@trina little.com as well.
