Do you want to know what my biggest traffic source is to my website? And by biggest, I mean 63% of my traffic to my website comes from this one platform. It's Pinterest. In today's video, I brought a guest expert on today to walk you through the first steps that you need to do to set up a Pinterest account for your business. Hey, guys, my name is Trena and welcome to another episode of Just the Tips. On this channel. I provide online businesses tips and tricks and strategies on how they can use YouTube in their business. In today's video, I've brought a guest expert to show you how you can set up a Pinterest account for your business. Because like I said, Pinterest is my number one traffic source to my website, but is also one of the top five traffic sources to my YouTube channel as well. If you're wondering how I'm using Pinterest for YouTube, I did an entire video on that. So I'm going to link it down in the description box and up in this card right up here. Now I'm going to hand it over to Vanessa to walk you through the steps you need to do to get set up on Pinterest.
Hi, thanks so much, Trina, for inviting me today. I'm Vanessa Kynes, and I'm a Pinterest marketing strategist for creative small businesses. With over 175 million users, Pinterest has the power to take one piece of content and exponentially deliver itself into the hands of active Pinners. But here's the problem. You can't use Pinterest like Facebook or Instagram. Pinterest isn't about connecting socially. It's about purpose and planning. So there are a few things that we can do and we're going to talk about those actionable steps in this video on how to convert your Pinterest account into a business account. The first thing that we're going to want to do to use Pinterest for business is to convert your existing account to a business account. This is really simple to do and it's a really important strategy to take. The first thing you're going to get is free analytics, and second, you're going to be able to link to your website for from the page. The second thing that we're going to want to do is to choose an avatar or profile picture. Now, I recommend that services either choose their logo or a picture profile. You need to think carefully about what best represents your brand and the reason why we want to keep it consistent across all platforms like Facebook and Instagram and YouTube is you want your brand to be recognizable across the board. The third step, and probably the most complicated, is to carefully craft a keyword rich profile bio. Now, there isn't a ton of room on Pinterest for for a profile, so you're going to have to think carefully about what you do. But Pinterest operates on a keyword search, so it is important to use those in your profile. So this exercise is actually going to be useful when you're creating your boards and even your personal pins. Get into your target audience's head and use Pinterest like they might use it. To discover your pins, enter in keywords that might lead to pins that you have, or even look at your competitors and see what type of pins they use. Once you have your keywords, you're going to use these keywords to compose a carefully crafted keyword rich profile. So for example, my keywords might be Pinterest Marketing strategies or creative small businesses. So for example, mine says Vanessa Kynes, Pinterest Marketing strategist for creative small businesses. It leads to a call to action. Somebody who's interested in those services might click to my website. Now, a top tip or bonus that I recommend is actually including your lead generator or freebie opt in in your Pinterest profile. You would take your Pinterest profile and include what your freebie opt in includes and this is a great way to grow your email marketing list so that you can get into your target audience's inbox quickly and easily. The final tip is to confirm your website with Pinterest. Now this requires a little bit of code, but I promise it doesn't require a developer. It's really easy to do. You would just go to Pinterest and grab the code and then include it in your header on your website. This is going to allow you to get valuable analytics on who's visiting your site, what pins are being pinned and originating from your site and led to Pinterest as well as just overall how your account is performing. I've included four easy actionable steps in this video for how to get started to use Pinterest for business. If you have more questions on how to create your business profile, Trena's going to drop a link below the video.
