The Best YouTube Strategies for 2025 To Grow Your YouTube Channel

This is a YouTube video titled "The Best YouTube Strategies for 2025 To Grow Your YouTube Channel" created in July 2024. The content features Trena Little delivering a detailed presentation on effective YouTube marketing strategies for the second half of 2024, including live streaming, community building, native social commerce, and creator-generated content. The video is primarily a monologue with some interaction from another speaker, focusing on practical advice for course creators, coaches, and service providers to grow their channels and businesses organically.
What are the fastest ways to see your business grow? If you are just getting started on YouTube, you don't have a channel yet but you want to or you're currently using YouTube in your marketing efforts? Well, I took a look across over 50 clients that I'm working with one on one what my friends and colleagues are saying about the marketing space on YouTube and what my data says. And I'm going to share with you the five YouTube marketing strategies you need to know for the second half of 2024. Hi, if you're new here, my name is Trena and I focus on helping course creators, coach coaches and service providers start using YouTube to generate leads and sales completely organically. The first marketing strategy I want to talk about is one that I don't love but I do believe is important for the second half of 2024 and that's live streaming. But I do see lives becoming more and more prominent for audience growth and I also am seeing more and more content creators that are doing live have a stronger community. But there are some nuances when it comes to live streaming that I want to point out to you. If you're thinking about utilizing this marketing strategy, first you've got to set a schedule and stick with it. The power of live streaming is the energy you get while people show up there live with you. This is what gives that extra connection that prerecorded videos don't. And that's the benefit of live streaming. So you need to set a schedule so that you can start promoting it in advance or getting people to remember you go live same day, same time every week so people actually show up. You've got to give them some type of incentive in addition to reminding them that you're going live. So are you giving special giveaways? Are you doing a Q and A and only answering questions from people who are there? Are you asking for their feedback? You've got to have some type of interaction in your show or reason for them to show up. The second thing you need to think about with live streaming is live streaming isn't going to be the only weekly video in your YouTube content plan. Live streaming is great to, so to speak, get people off the fence about you if they've not been sure they've watched a few of your videos but they weren't subscribed and checking you every week. Live streaming is what will turn those people to this weekly show ups and also your loyal community members. But the longevity of your live streaming videos just don't have the power that your prerecorded videos do. And live streaming is not really geared towards bringing new people to you because again, they need to be invested in you if they see your live. And so live streaming is really great for that community building piece. Whereas you still have to be incorporating strategic prerecorded videos, if not once a week, at least every other week to continue to get your content in front of new eyes and have a better chance of converting those new eyes into watching some more of your videos. Because replay lives aren't going to have that connection or you're not going to drop those reasons why they need to keep watching. So again, when you're creating those prerecorded videos, you're following the right structure and you have a really tight hook that's connected to a title. Whereas if you don't edit your live stream, you're not going to have that tight hook and people aren't going to hang around to watch like dead space or you saying hi to people in your livestream. If you leave that in. The third thing you need to write down if you're thinking about doing live streaming as part of your marketing strategy on YouTube is having a show plan or every time you go live, you've got to have something prepared for that video. You just can't wing live streams because that's not what is going to turn those viewers. And the purpose of those live streams, which are to get clients or work with me inquiries or course sales, right? You've got to really show up, show your authority, show your confidence and that's what's going to convert those on the fence people to wanting to buy from you. So you need to first of all have your idea or the content that you're going to talk about planned so that you have a good title and thumbnail to get people there live. Possible questions prepared. If you're wanting to do a Q and A just in case nobody shows up and you're like, well, anybody? Anybody have any questions? Anybody? Because you've really got to have this fluidity in your presence in your live streams. I'm not saying you have to be perfect. Just in live streaming you kind of have to look like you got your together right? So you want to have this plan to just make the live stream go a lot easier. My personal insight on live streams, I hate doing them. It's not the live part about it. I love talking YouTube. I could talk YouTube for hours on end. It's committing to going live same day, same time every week. I have commitment issues. No, I have these boundaries that I set on times that I want to be on camera and when I don't. And I honestly, I don't want to add another piece of time in my schedule where I'm on a camera or that I have to be dedicated to it. So I'm still trying to figure out what this looks like in my business when I want to start incorporating it. Incorporating it and kind of my, my goal for a live streaming show, if that's something I do. I also honestly hate tech and I feel like live streaming, there's so much more tech involved and guess what? YouTube strategists, they're just like you. I struggle with not only imposter syndrome when it comes to live because it's weird, right? My imposter syndrome stems from is my equipment set up perfectly? There's the perfect thing, right? Because I know other YouTube strategists who are going live, they have all of the fancy stuff and I hate that stuff. So I need to get out of my head as well. Just like many of you do when it comes to just shooting any YouTube videos. Now the next YouTube marketing strategy that you're going to see more of the second half of this year is interactive content and community building on YouTube. Your business will grow, I. E. You will see business growth if you build a community on YouTube. Communities built from YouTube are so much stronger than any other platforms because people in your community are watching you on video. They have this extra connection with you. And so that's why you will see these YouTubers or these beauty vloggers get these massive brand deals, build these giant businesses because their community was built on YouTube and the video viewers are way more loyal than you know, let's say a blog post. But they're also more loyal because they're watching your long form videos. They're way more invested in you when they're watching 15 minutes of you than if they're watching a 90 second TikTok. In fact, 65% of Gen Zers agree that personality driven content is more important than the content tons of people are talking about. According to YouTube in Cultural's trend report that personality is what's going to drive and grow your community. Let's talk about some action steps you can start taking today if you're like, I really like what's behind door number two. Now we just talked about live streaming, right? It's a very important way or a very quick way to build community and interact with your audience. But more importantly, knowing who your audience is. I just finished up an entire series A few weeks ago about knowing your audience on YouTube and how that affects your entire strategy. So if you aren't sure yet who specifically you're talking to, that is the first thing you need to do before you go into door number two here. You also need to lean into your audience and let them kind of guide your content plan or topics that you focus on. It doesn't mean that they're going to tell you the exact videos you should create, but you want them to feel like you're taking their thoughts, their ideas, their comments under consideration. For example, one of my things that I try to do is publish two title ideas on my YouTube community tab. Now, these are probably videos that I have done in the past, but I want to see how y' all are titling them. Or I may just ask. I have two titles for my next video. Which one do you like most? Not only does your audience get engaged in choosing that, but if you choose theirs and they see your video published, which you're also promoting, they're going to get excited that you chose what they voted on. I also like to use the Community tab to get an idea of maybe what series I want to start next. So I may have three categories that I'm thinking about, but I want to hear from you. And when you vote on it and I start creating that content for that series again, you just feel like, oh, she's listening to me. I know a lot of people consider YouTube a search engine, but it is very much a social media platform because like I mentioned earlier, some of the biggest communities in the past couple years have been built from YouTube channels. And many YouTube channel creators have been able to create businesses and brands because of their community. So you need to be interacting, engaging, replying to comments, asking people to comment. That comment bar below this video, if you, is essential because it's just as much a social media platform as, say, Instagram or Snapchat. Door number three is, so to speak, of YouTube marketing strategies that are going to be trending the second half of this year. Native social commerce About a year ago, or maybe longer, Shopify and YouTube announced their partnership. Now we're talking about business growth, right? Which means probably revenue growth too. So how are we going to start making more money with this partnership? YouTube is going to allow you to add links to products natively within the YouTube platform that they can scroll, they, they can click on, you can make commission off of. So for example, when you upload a YouTube video, and if you're speaking about different products in the video, you can now link them from your video and make commission on them. Right. There are also ways to think about commerce ifying YouTube because if YouTube is providing you these incentives, they want you to use them. Right. One of the things that a lot of people don't realize is you can set up your own shop from like I said, Shopify 4 wall, Spreadshop and Spring so you can literally sell your products right below your video.
Now move my face. And if we go into Earn, they.
Have, you know, if you're a partner.
How you can make revenue with ads.
But I'm talking specifically here membership.
So you can set up membership offers here. Like I said, YouTube does take a cut. There are shopping features here so you can join the YouTube affiliate program. You can also look at stores that are already connected and then you can also look at brand connect where you can start looking and get where, I'm sorry, you can start getting brand deals and looking up the opportunity right inside of here. The way you're going to add products.
To your videos is right at the upload place. Whether you're uploading them or if you.
Already uploaded them, you can come right here, click on products and that's where you're going to be able to start doing that. I don't have mine set up yet.
Will I, won't I?
Probably something I'm looking at in the next couple of weeks of getting going. But those are the different ways that.
YouTube is allowing you to use this.
Commerce opportunity native to the platform.
I mentioned these options because one, YouTube has them available so we should try to use them and two, I'm talking about ways to make money in your business. And I did a video a couple weeks ago sharing a breakdown of how much I make and how much I spend in my business. I will link it here. But one of the things I talk about is diversifying my revenue stream. So if I am going to feature something in my videos, it's going to be something that I couldn't get commission off of otherwise. Whereas I am going to have affiliate things that I do talk about that I affiliate through that actual program with. The fourth marketing strategy I want to talk about here that we are going to see pick up more Here on the second half of 2024 is creator generated content. Now many of us are already doing creator generated content. I'm the creator, I'm generating the content. But the importance I am laying out here is how it, how important it is for you to be the one showing up on video when you're getting started with your business. Or you're figuring it out, or you're not hitting those multiple six figure income years yet. You're still building your brand, you're still building your trust. And it is a lot quicker to build trust as a person or what you may call a personal brand as opposed to a business brand. And with a business brand, it's just a name. If there's no face to that name, it's a little bit harder to trust, say a logo than a person's actual face. So I would encourage you, as we look at content you're going to create on YouTube, the type of YouTube video you may start, is it a personal brand or a business brand? A video that I dove into more detailed on what I chose and why I chose it. I will link it right here. But we are going to see more human driven channels be what people are connecting to in who we're going to see grow more than I like a business channel. Listen, the creator economy is more than just a buzzword that you're hearing. 87% of viewers agree that YouTube creators give them recommendations that they can trust. And I'm telling myself this too because it is so hard for me not to show up. I don't know if it's more authentic. I try to be as much me here as possible, but in my real life I don't have my makeup on. I'm not always set up in this personal, professional room with this setup. And so I'm trying to find ways to tie in video structure or other things like that to make me feel more personable, like somebody you would set across a coffee date from and not just somebody you're watching here on YouTube, like perfectly set up because that's not real life. Consumers like stories. Brands that are already using storytelling, marketing or more storytelling in their marketing are seeing better results. And again, that ties into a little bit of the last one where I'm saying show up as a human, put your face. But it also alludes into the little bit of what I mentioned in me trying to let you all in on a little bit more of me. Me. I'm not YouTube, Trina. I mean a lot of my personality refracts, reflects here, but I don't have my hair and makeup done every day. My office is not clean. Like you're only seeing this little square. And I want to try to find ways to show up of more of me. I don't know what that looks like, but I know that being able to tell a story through my video being more authentic or more like me on a normal day is what's going to make that connection that I'm probably missing right now. I didn't jump into where I feel shorts and video podcasting fits in these marketing strategies. I actually addressed them. And the three cringiest things you've got to stop doing it on YouTube and the video that is on your screen right now. Check that out. Look at the top five trends that I saw earlier this year and make sure you write down these cringy things, because please don't do them.
