The SMARTEST Ways To Repurpose Content!

Trina shares strategies for turning one piece of video content into multiple posts across social media platforms. She covers workflows and templates designed to help creators grow their audience without making new videos from scratch.
Truth. I am posting consistent content multiple days a week on YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Facebook. But I have a way to do it where I only create content one day a month. Yeah, all of that content that I have coming out across all my social platforms is all created in one day. So let me show you how I do that, and if you stay to the end, I'm going to tell you how you can get all of my templates and all of my systems that I use to do this. Welcome back. My name is Trina. If you're brand new to this channel, and I'm all about helping you plan, organize, and create video content that helps your business make more money, that sounds like something you need more of in your life. Make sure you hit subscribe, because that's my jam. Here's my secret to putting out all that content. And it's repurposing. But it's the smart way of repurposing. So wait, there's a dumb way of repurposing? Not dumb, just not most effective. So let me walk you through the most effective, the smartest way to repurpose your content. The first thing that I do is about a week before a new month, because every first Wednesday is when I like to shoot my content. A week prior to that, I look at my calendar coming up and I am determining, do I have any launches, do I have any affiliates that I'm working with, are there any things I want to promote in the next coming month? Then I determine what is that theme or what is that series that I want to talk about in that coming month. The more I can create videos that build on each other and get people to keep coming back and watching my content every single week. So here on YouTube the better, because it gets more views on my channel, it gets YouTube to push my content to more people, and it grows my audience. If you watch my content on YouTube in January, you saw that the entire month was about creating content and content strategy so that all those videos could build on each other. So once I determine what that theme for that month is going to be, I start researching my video content. Now I am focusing all of my content for YouTube. I create one pillar piece of content. This pillar piece of content is live or die for my business because this pillar piece of content gets people on my email list, gets people aware of who I am, builds my visibility, and it's the one piece of content that I commit to every single week. So if I do nothing else but film this one YouTube video, I have content for the entire week. Because I'm gonna break this down for you how I do that. I have lots of videos on how I plan and research my content. So I will link to them right up here. So. So you can dive into that after this. But once I come up with my video content and I create my video game plan as well, then it comes time to record. And I schedule a day to record. Usually for me, if I'm filming about four to six videos, that's one video a week for four to six weeks. I can get through it in about two to three hours if I've planned all my videos out. So when I sit down on this chair to film that video, I am filming an entire YouTube video, telling people at the end of this video to watch another video, to subscribe, whatever it is. Then I pause, I film an alternate ending specific for Facebook. So I may say at the end of this video, for the Facebook version, leave me a comment below. Like this Facebook video. And don't forget to like my page here on Facebook for new videos every single week. Then I will also shoot an Instagram TV ending as well. Now, we've been trying two different strategies for Instagram. It's a current case study that we haven't finished yet. You could either put your entire video over on Instagram with an ending like, leave me a comment on what you think about repurposing. Make sure you follow me here on Instagram and feel free to DM me any questions you have about video content. So that is one particular way. So you put the whole YouTube video with the Instagram ending up for IGTV. We've also been testing just sharing a portion of this YouTube video and having an ending that says, to watch the complete video, make sure you go to the link in the comments to watch over on my YouTube channel or go to treanalittle.com YouTube to watch the entire video. There's two reasons that we've been trying this. One, we've had a really hard time uploading larger files on igtv. And two, we're kind of in a strategy right now to grow our YouTube channel. So we are sending people off of the platform, which I want to talk about here in a minute. You may be thinking, well, Trina, isn't this just making people annoyed that it's the same content over and over on all these platforms? Well, let me address that in just one minute. Okay, so we have that full YouTube video and we focus on creating it for YouTube. Because of searchability, it can be searched on YouTube and Google. Videos on YouTube can live longer than content on Facebook and Instagram. If you don't believe me, watch this video where I break down what you should be focusing on. Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or TikTok. And I give you all the data. Now let's throw some fuel on that video and really multiply your content. Because why don't we just have three pieces of content? I will then get the transcript through this YouTube video and my assistant will fluff it out, make it work for a blog post. We will also send that to my email newsletter for a newsletter that they get every single week. We then also take the key points that I'm talking about in here that my assistant grabs from my script. My video game plan turns it into an Instagram carousel. I also write a story relating to that video and share that on Instagram as well. We then take clips of this video and put it on Instagram. We also take clips of this video and we put it on Pinterest story. We also take the thumbnail of this video and we put it on LinkedIn. We also make four to six different Pinterest images and put this on Pinterest. We've also been repurposing this video to use on reels as well. So the smart way to think about repurposing is thinking about this YouTube video. Make that video that's going to get your biggest bang for your buck. Put it on YouTube because you're going to get more reach there and then start to break it down.
