This is a short YouTube tutorial by Trena Little explaining three types of videos that help online entrepreneurs build authority on YouTube: opinion pieces (share views on industry trends), educational/tutorial videos (answer searchable how-to questions with demonstrations), and motivational videos (share stories/tips to emotionally support and connect with viewers). The video includes examples for each type, encourages viewers to comment which idea they’ll try, and promotes a free YouTube channel checklist.
You know, you can build you and your business authority a lot faster on YouTube, but what do you talk about? What types of video will grow your authority fastest? Today I'm going to give you three video ideas that can launch you as the authority figure in your industry. Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips with Trena where I provide online entrepreneurs tips and tricks on how to create a video content strategy that works for them and their business. Just remember, if you aren't subscribed to this channel yet, go ahead and click that subscribe button. That way you will know when I upload new content just for you. Like I said, today, I'm giving you three video ideas you can create today that's going to launch you as an authority figure in your niche. The first video idea is an opinion piece. Being a leader in an industry means you have an opinion about your industry. You have an opinion about trends, you have an opinion about big topics in your industry. So create a video giving your opinion on something. Say, for example, if you are a social media practitioner, you probably have an opinion on new Facebook stories. Are you pro Facebook stories? Pro Snapchat? Do you just think Facebook totally ripped off Snapchat? What is your opinion? It doesn't matter if your opinion is similar to everybody else's, you're in everyone else's in your industry. People want to hear from you and what you think. That's what's going to launch you as a leader in your industry. So what's popular in your industry? What's a current trend in your industry? And create a video providing your opinion on this trend. The second video that you can create is an educational piece. People are searching for questions to their Answers here on YouTube, and if you can provide an answer to their question, they're instantly going to see you as an authority figure. They're also going to remember you when they need you because you solved a problem that they had when they really needed it fixed. Plus, you're actually showing people that you're the real deal. You can really talk about what it is that you say you're an expert in. People can write blog posts and research hours and hours on that blog post, but not really be an expert. But for you to talk openly and freely on video, it really solidifies that you are an industry and you're a leader and people will want to work with you. Some videos you can do, maybe you can show people how to do something on your computer through a screen, share, walk them through a process, maybe how to set up a sauna or how to set up trello. Whatever your specialty is, walk them through a tutorial on your screen. Or maybe it's a DIY project, or maybe it's a cooking recipe. Just walk them through a process or show them how to do something that they've been wondering how to do or they've been searching on the Internet on how to do it. The third type of video is motivational videos and these videos are great for developing a deeper connection with your audience. You really want to provide them with the support they need to get to that next step. So here on my channel I provided tips and tricks on how to get comfortable on camera because I know a lot of people aren't really comfortable because putting themselves out on camera. So I want them to know I'm here to help and support them. I want them to know that they can do it and I want them to hear my story and my journey and how I overcame my fears of being on camera. So think about what kind of motivational video you can create for your audience. Maybe if you're a fitness instructor you can talk about how you broke through that plateau. So you lost so much weight and then you plateaued. How did you break through that plateau? If you are an art teacher, maybe you give some motivation or tips on how to get over the idea of making your art perfect. I know when I am painting or going to one of those painting and wine classes, I get really wrapped up in making sure it looks perfect. So maybe you can provide some tips and tricks on how to get over that need for perfection in art. Just think about what you could provide to really motivate your audience to take that next step and show them that you're there to help them through it. Video is the best place to build your authority. So start creating today. I want to hear from you in the comments section. Which one of these video ideas do you want to create right now?
