When Should You Post YouTube Videos?

Trina explains when to post YouTube videos to maximize engagement. The key is matching your upload schedule to when your audience is actually watching, then posting consistently at that time.
You've probably heard from countless YouTube experts that you've got to find the perfect time to upload and post your videos on YouTube. But what is that perfect time and how do you figure it out? I actually had a subscriber of mine point this out. Calista asked me, what is the best time to upload a video. I've heard people say it's important, but nobody explains why. That's exactly what I'm going to be doing in this video. Hi, my name is Trina, and on this channel I help creative entrepreneurs just like you get on YouTube to grow your business. And to be able to grow your business with YouTube, you've got to have people watching. So is there this secret time that you can post on YouTube to get more views? Well, it's not that easy. The best time for you to post a video on YouTube is when you know your audience is online. So if you are targeting moms of toddlers, probably mornings aren't the best because they're getting kids up and probably around 7 to 9 they're putting kids down. Maybe a good time to post a video for you would be 10pm or maybe there's some time on the weekends that you think moms take to actually watch videos. You can look at your statistics, see when people are engaging on your Facebook group or maybe when they're engaging on your Instagram, post to see what would be the right time for you to post. I also have a client of mine who talks a lot about productivity and planning out your week. So we know a lot of people are planning their weeks generally on a Sunday. So she posts her videos either Saturday afternoon or Friday evenings. That way they're live, they're starting to gain traction. So when people are planning their week and they got a question and they pop on YouTube, her video is already gaining traffic and. And it may be suggested to that person who is searching for whatever they're struggling with planning their week. Now, if you have absolutely no idea when your audience is on YouTube, you can use a tool like Vidiq that can show you when you're generally getting more engagement on your channel. Or you can just start with a time, especially if you're just getting started. Start posting at a time that works for you. Make it work in your schedule and. And then start training people to watch your video at that time by constantly telling them you post a new video every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 11am Wink, wink. That's my upload schedule. Oh, okay. I see what you did there. This way they know they're coming back to your channel at 11am to watch your videos because they can't wait to see the awesome content you're going to upload. And then they start incorporating that into their daily schedule. And it's just like with the show Friends or Game of Thrones or whatever your favorite show is. Unless it's playing on reruns, you know exactly when that new episode is going to be live and you are ready Die Hard. Get out of your way going to watch that episode. That's what your YouTube channel needs to be for your audience. So the only way to get your audience and your loyal followers doing this is to post consistently same time, same same day and constantly communicate to them that this is the time you upload.
