Why Your 2025 Goals Are Already Failing

This is a YouTube video titled "Why Your 2025 Goals Are Already Failing" created in December 2024. The content is a detailed monologue by a single speaker providing business goal-setting advice, focusing on setting realistic, data-driven revenue goals and prioritizing projects that impact income. The speaker also promotes a live CEO planning day event to help viewers plan their business year effectively. There is no indication of multiple speakers or a conversational format.
If you want to set goals that is actually going to help you make money in your business, you've got to stop making so many goals first of all, and stop choosing random numbers for those goals. Like, I want to make six figures. So I'm going to show you how to set goals for your business that you can actually reach and feel productive at the end of next year. And I'm telling you this from experience because if there's no real data behind the goals you're setting or purpose facts are, you're not going to reach them, and you're probably going to abandon them by February. How do I know? Hi, it's me. I'm a recovering goals addict. I used to sit down between Christmas and New Year's and get so excited to fill out my little goal planner, make all the lists and dream all the dreams and write all the things down and just think about in manifesting the next best year to happen. This will not help you make more money in your business next year. If you want to make your business profitable with the goals that you are going to set, you got to completely change the way you plan and think about goals. So let's talk about what makes a business goal a good one. First, they are attainable. And how do you know they are attainable? You look at what you've done so far. You can't just sit down while you're planning your goals between Christmas and New Year's and be like, you know what? Next year I'm gonna make seven figures. But over the course of the last three years, you've hardly hit six figures. That is. Just because you make that a goal doesn't mean that's going to happen and most likely won't happen. So if you're watching this video in December, you now have a good 10 months of data to look at what you were able to do this year. So let's say you do want to make six figures in 2025, but it's December and you haven't yet hit making $50,000 this year. Is it realistic to double your revenue next year? I honestly think it is possible that you could double your revenue in one year. But here's the thing you need to realize. You need to make this hitting six figures the only goal you set. Yeah, one goal. One goal. And that's your revenue goal. Because everything you decide to do in your business, every task you do, every project you decide to take on, should be going to help you hit that goal of making six figures. Same thing if your goal is to hit 100,000 YouTube subscribers. Everything that you do now needs to feed that goal. That is your one sole goal that you are going to focus on. Because when you start to add other goals, guess what time is going to have to get taken from one of those goals. And more than likely none of those goals will be met. So you need to set one and focus on it. And let's be real, the biggest goal you have in your business is going to be how much you're making next year. And if you checked out my video that I did last week that I will link right here, I talked about finding your enough number and that is going to be the best income or the best revenue goal for your business in the new year. So I highly encourage you to check that video out because that's going to help you figure out what an attainable goal is. Now you know this is your goal, how much you're going to make next year. You can start deciding what are the projects that you are going to do that are going to help you hit this goal. And you probably have lots of ideas of projects for 2025, like starting a YouTube channel. Maybe you want to start a podcast, maybe you want to host an online summit, maybe you want to speak on like 50 podcasts next year. You need to pick the projects that are going to help you realistically hit those goals and start breaking down the tasks that you need to do for each one of these projects. So you can go ahead, hit pause and start listing out all the projects that you have in your mind right now. Or if you want to do this live with me. I'm hosting my CEO day on December 11th. That is a Wednesday from 10am Eastern to 2pm Eastern. And during that day I'm going to walk you through the entire process of how I plan for my business. We're also going to dig into data. There's pre homework for you to do so that you are setting goals based on and backed up by realistic data. So you know exactly what you need to focus on. That's going to move the needle. And you have proof that that's what you will focus on. That's going to move the needle. So if you want to join me live, help you plan for your year in 2025 to have the best business year yet, go to trina little.com CEO you'll also get the replay for this. You'll also have access to this to watch again in six months, however many times you want to watch it. I'm going to tell you the Way I plan for my year and I've taught my clients to plan for their year changes everything because they stop taking on busy work, they stop taking on projects that have no effect on their revenue goal. And it allows them to have so much more clarity throughout the year in their business. So definitely get that seat@trinalittle.com CEO alright, so you have your list of projects. You now need to step back, take a look at them and start evaluating them. So the first thing you're going to ask about each project is what is the biggest impact on revenue will this project have? For example, if you want to speak on 50 podcasts, how quickly is that going to have an impact on your revenue? Now, some podcasts schedule far out, so maybe these podcasts won't be live until three months from now. But I'm just going to say from experience, the initial revenue that you're going to get from these podcasts isn't going to be high. So if you're ranking from low, medium, high on what impact it's going to have, podcasts, guest podcasts, I'm going to say is between like a low to medium. In my experience, it's not just it's not going to instantly convert people into a paying offer, but it can get people on your email list that you can then nurture. Then I want you to look at the amount of effort it's going to take to get on 50 podcasts and I'm gonna say this is probably high. It's going to take you a lot of work because you need to research the podcast, you need to watch the podcast, listen to the podcast, to be able to send a good pitch that they will actually accept. So the revenue to effort ratio is a little bit off. So maybe we put that project to the side and I want you to go through each project and do that, see where that ratio lies. Now, there's another thing that I haven't mentioned yet that you need to be looking at to determine what projects are going to have the biggest impact on your revenue goal. And that's auditing your offers to figure out how much traffic you're actually getting to your business, to your sales page, to your landing page, to your work with me page. Because the lifeline or the fuel to your revenue is going to be traffic is going to be eyeballs. So looking at the projects you've listed again, which of these projects are going to help you generate more traffic to your landing pages, your website, your shop page? Now, this project is probably going to be very high Effort because this includes maybe creating an Instagram strategy. So you're posting every day to build an audience, to grow your audience. Maybe it means getting on YouTube and posting every week. Again, that's going to take effort, but the effect it has on your revenue will be medium to high. Because you are growing your audience there. You are getting in front of more people who will buy. I know for me, I make sales every single day from my YouTube channel. My videos are strategically planned to get people in a YouTube playlist funnel and to get them to buy from me. And because it's video, it is very high converting. So while I know I'm sitting down today to shoot four videos is going to take me two plus hours to do the ROI on this. Two hours is significant because not only am I going to make money when I publish these videos, these videos are going to make money for me for years to come. Now that you've taken a look kind of out of these projects, I want you to know that honestly, I would max out at selecting three projects for the entire year, maybe four. Because you need to stop and think about all the little things that go in to making these projects come to life. Because if you think about your YouTube channel right after you get it set up, after you plan your strategy, you're still going to need to script each week or batch script, you're going to need to film, you're going to need to edit, you're going to need to upload, you're going to need to engage with your audience, right? So while YouTube launching your channel as a project, it's ongoing, or let's say you want to do a launch that's going to help you grow your email list and you're going to do a free webinar. There's a lot of things that you need to do. I know for me, I'm planning about 12 weeks in advance before my actual webinar day because there is pre launch content that I need to get out, promotion for, the webinar emails that I need to get out, sales pages, webinar landing pages, follow up emails, slide decks, sales emails after that. And so just making a project that you're going to launch something doesn't mean you're going to be able to launch four, five, six times in the year. So you need to be very careful at how many projects you are selecting and really looking at that revenue to time ratio for each project. Another way you can decide which projects are going to make the biggest difference in your business is take a look back at this past year and see what projects that you did resulted in the biggest revenue. Did you do a launch? Was a webinar? Was it a challenge? Did you do a JV webinar? What were the projects that you did in 2024 that resulted in the biggest revenue for you? Or if you look at your months, which month had the highest revenue month and figure out what you did that month to see that number. Now, if you want the 10 step planning routine I do for my business, check out the video that's on your scre right now. Or I would highly encourage you to join me on Wednesday, December 11th for my CEO planning day because not only are we going to go through it together, but you can ask me questions and my advice for your plan as well. Hope to see you there.
