Work, life, balance and being perfect at everything. Does that even exist? Hi, I am Trina. If you are new here and I'm a YouTube strategist on this channel, I help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow. And on Fridays here I share my fry Diary. It's basically a vlog of things that I did that week to just kind of give you a behind the scenes. And today I'm going to share with you what it looks like for me to manage time between my kids, my husband, my business, my clients, and finding time to actually take care of myself. The first thing you've got to realize though, before I jump in to my vlog is perfect doesn't exist. You can try to be the perfect mom with the Pinterest house and the Pinterest goodies and the Pinterest meals, but it doesn't happen. As a mom and a business owner, sometimes you've just gotta get through the day and get out what you can. That's basically how I go through my day and how I'm able to manage everything. I focus on the things that are most important and then everything else just kind of falls in line after that. So let's see how I do this in a day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, our days generally start at 6am we pack the kids up and my husband takes them to his parents on his way to work. These are the days that I'm able to get a lot done because they're gone from basically 6am til 5pm so it's just get their coats on, get them out the door as quick as possible so I can get working. Luckily my husband is kind enough to take them off to Niana's. Then my day gets started. I always need to grab a cup of coffee because I'm a mom of two and sleep just doesn't happen around here. So I really enjoy having almond milk in my coffee, grabbing it to go. And one of the things that I've really been trying recently is to start some morning habits. So I've been working on making my bed every morning, getting dressed for work, brushing my teeth, washing my face and getting dressed. And let's face it, who wants to wear jeans? When I decided to work from home, I want to be comfortable. Then it's off to my office and yes, that is clean clothes on the floor. I usually have my calendar laying out and I've mapped out everything that I need to get done that day on a post it just to remind myself. And by now it's time to get working. I absolutely love that my office is getting put together and then I have just these fun things to keep me motivated. I generally drink my coffee while I catch up on emails or check where my client's at if anybody has sent me anything while I was gone. And I love listening to this podcast because it's funny and I just need some fun in the morning. On this day I had to plan schedule my blog post and so I grabbed the title, I grab the link, get it all set up in a squarespace so that I can get it ready to go live. I generally plan for my blog post to go live at 11am Eastern Standard Time. So I go between my YouTube video and my Trello board because Trello is where I have the summary of the video already written out because that was the script that I used for the video. So then just to kill two birds with one stone, I grab that, put it in as my blog post, get my graphic from my graphic designer through Slack, add that sucker to my blog and it is ready to go live. So then I just make sure everything is right. One last thing that I've got to do is add my opt ins. I'll go to ConvertKit, embed the little sign in button for the blog all ready to go. So then the next thing on my list while it is finally getting light outside is to get to work on eating breakfast and figuring out where I need to get started. I go through my Trello. I use it for everything that I need. This day I am reviewing a video my editor sent me. He sends it to me through Trello and I review it. So send him some edits. Luckily I am checking things right off my list this day. Now it's to check my calendar to see what appointments that I have left coming up and it is already 11am and didn't have time for lunch. So Rice Krispies. It is the life of an entrepreneur right? So then it is time to respond to some emails again and fill out a client channel audit and and get some client calls going. I generally have just client calls on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every other week and I also go live. If you see those little post its in the back those are telling me when I go live and what are the topics for my Facebook group, my Facebook page and my YouTube channel. This was a Facebook page live where I Talked about why YouTube is helping me grow my business and and I was just using my headphones that day because I didn't set up my mic and they work perfectly fine. Now I can finally Turn off all the lights that make me look so great on video. So when I'm live and I'm on client calls because I am done on camera for the day so it's definitely time to shut these suckers off so I can breathe in normal lighting. I really like my office desk to just be inspirational but also decluttered. But as you can tell throughout the day I start piling on post its and leftover lunch headphones. It just starts to get cluttered throughout the day. In the afternoon again I need a little pump up so I like watching listening to Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert and this day particularly I was working on a client video strategy. So coming up with her video titles, her tags and sending that on her way the rest of the day for me. Obviously I've got to get on social media because who doesn't get sucked into the social media world. So I plan all of my posts and planoly and then I go in post it and check to see if anybody's responded to me or wrote me a message. By now it's four and I like to have a hard shutdown time. I've been really working hard on Saturday, stopping work at 4 so that I can make time for myself and this is the time that I am spending exercising. I set this as a goal multiple times before but I'm trying really hard right now to make sure at 4 o' clock I get my shoes on, my sneakers on and I exercise. This day was actually day two of my couch to 5K program. It's an app that I have so I'm trying to build up the strength in my knee again by doing a little walk, run and then of course you know, mom duties. It's time to clean the cat litter box because it just does not clean itself. This day again I had my dinner delivered to me. Thank you so much Takeout kit. I love getting these dinners, everything's in them, ready to prepare and it makes it so quick. So when the time these guys get home around 5 o' clock I have dinner ready to go cooked and now we can all be happy and spend our evenings together. That's basically how I end up managing everything that I've got going on in two days a week. Anybody else have three year olds who like to put their fingers in their nose? If you totally get where I'm coming from, can I get an email down in the comments below? So I am not alone on this and you can realize that you're not alone either. I as moms and business owners, we really need the support of one another to let us know it's okay.
