Channel trailers. Do you need one? And if you do, what do you even say in it? In today's video, I'm going to share with you an easy to follow channel trailer template so you can create your channel trailer today and start gaining more subscribers on your YouTube channel. Hey guys, my name is Trena and welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips. If you are new here and you want to continue learning how you can use YouTube and video in your business strategy, make sure you click that red subscribe button down below so you don't miss out. First, I would love to hear if you have a channel trailer set up for your channel. Let me know. Let me know down in the comments section below if you've created one yet for your channel. First, let's talk about why channel trailers are so important. The first thing people see when they come to your channel is this video called a channel trailer. And it's important for you to really get it all out in that video as to why they should subscribe to you and why they should keep watching your videos. This is your opportunity to pitch them so you can continue building a relationship with them and breaking through that know like and trust factor. But maybe you're thinking, I don't know any fancy editing techniques. I don't know how to produce a video. How is my channel trailer going to look good? No worries. I'm going to cover the three things you need to include in your channel trailer to increase its conversion rate. Plus I have a few bonus tips at the end of this video to help you out. So the first thing you want to do with your channel trailer video is say hi and welcome them to your channel. Now in my channel trailer I'm doing a little dancing. It's just for me to show off my personality a bit and then I say hi. Welcome to Just the Tips with Trena where I share X, Y and Z. Now my my channel trailer is a little outdated and I do need to update it, but you need to ensure you are the first thing people see when they click on that video and that you're welcoming them and saying hello. The reason why I decided to show dancing at the beginning and my personality is because that's who I am. I like to have fun. I like to make video fun and I don't want people to be afraid of video. So that kind of showed how I am teaching video content here on YouTube. By throwing a little bit of fun into it all. You could start to think how you could add your personality into your video. Maybe your dog is a big part of your life. So your dog's in the video. Or maybe you're drinking a glass of wine because you're teaching about wine. Or maybe you're sitting at your desk because you're a business coach and you want to look really professional so that they understand what they're going to get when they come to your channel. The next thing you need to tell this viewer who has found you for the first time is why they should subscribe to you. What value are you going to bring them? Like I said, my value proposition is a little bit old for my current channel trailer. But but I told people in my trailer that they can expect business tips on topics every week. So let people know instantly what they're going to get out of subscribing to you and what kind of videos you're going to provide them. There's no need to get super wordy here. Just be straight and direct with them what they're going to get. This all comes down to your value proposition of your channel. So what value are you going to provide them next? You'll want to share with them when your upload schedule is so it's important for that viewer to know, oh, this person is creating consistently new content. Yes, I want to subscribe to them so I don't miss out on any new videos they are creating. If you share your schedule, they will know you are real on YouTube and that you are creating new content all the time for your channel. You can say something as simple as I publish new videos every Sunday. That way that viewer knows they can expect a new video from you every Sunday and maybe they want to be reminded. So that's why they're going to subscribe to you is because they like your video and they know you have new content coming out. And that's the basic channel trailer template you want to follow. Now I'm going to share with you a couple tips to take your channel trailer to the next level. The first thing you want to remember is the acronym kiss. Keep it simple, stupid. So don't make this an overly produced video. Don't start thinking about this too much. Do the three things that I said. Welcome your viewer, introduce them to you, tell them your value proposition and your upload schedule. This should be no more than 90 seconds. People have a very short attention span, especially with somebody that's new to them. So be very direct and keep it short. And second, focus on the content. Don't worry about super fancy editing. Don't worry about getting a super produced video. Focus on the message that you are sharing and explaining to them why they need to subscribe to you. Some of the best converting channel trailers are just talking head videos like this. So you don't need to worry about getting drone footage or B roll footage or all this extra kind of footage of you talking with clients. Just share your message. And the third tip is if you don't want to do a channel trailer, then share a video that you are really proud of that you think is going to convert new people into subscribers. So maybe you already have a few videos up on your YouTube channel and one's getting a lot of views and a lot of engagement. You can use this video as your channel trailer. The reason why you might want to use this video as your channel trailer because it's showing off your work. Hopefully by them seeing your best work, they're wowed and amazed and they're going to click your subscribe button without you having to tell them what you're all about. That's also an opportunity you can do as well just using a video that you already have as your channel trailer.
