YouTube Marketing in 2023: How to Drive More Leads and More Traffic to Your Business

This is a YouTube video titled "YouTube Marketing in 2023: How to Drive More Leads and More Traffic to Your Business" created in January 2023. The content is a detailed monologue by a single speaker discussing strategies for using YouTube effectively to grow an online business, including benefits of YouTube content, comparisons with other platforms like podcasting and Facebook ads, and specific marketing tactics for 2023. The speaker shares personal experiences, success stories, and practical advice for entrepreneurs looking to leverage YouTube for lead generation and revenue growth.
You don't want to waste money creating content. If you put time into creating content, you want to make sure that that content is sending you leads into your email list, leads applying to work with you or brand new digital product sales. Right? So if you aren't using a strategic YouTube marketing plan, is your content even making you any money? Yes. YouTube has been around for a while and I've absolutely been singing its praises for over seven years now. Especially when it comes to building and growing an online business. In fact, I've been talking about this since 2016. And even though me telling everybody who's been watching how important YouTube content has been to my business success, in fact seven years of consistent business growth with no reliance on Facebook ads or any ads, it still hasn't set in with so many people that the work you put into YouTube is by far worth it. But more and more entrepreneurs are talking about the importance of YouTube in their content marketing and even their business marketing plan. Everybody from Sunny Lenarduzzi saying she only posted about 36 videos last year alone and each video generated about $150,000 in sales for her per video. And Vanessa Lau talking about how important organic content is and calling out business owners who are likely to spend $30,000 on ads but not 30,000 do on an organic content strategy. So many multi seven figure business owners are singing the praises of YouTube and really putting a lot of their eggs in the YouTube basket. So here we are in 2023 and I'm actually going to be kicking up my YouTube marketing plan and I want to share with you exactly what I'm planning to do here on YouTube with my marketing strategy to continue to grow my business while focusing on creating less content. I think it's also really important before I dive in to really la all the benefits that YouTube offers. So first up, it has searchability, meaning your YouTube videos can be found when your target audience needs you most. It can be found on Google and on YouTube search driven traffic which is being pulled towards your target audience when they need you most, not you pushing your content on them, but then pulling the content. The second benefit is evergreen content. Look, if you're tired of constantly posting on Instagram, that's because your content over there is expiring within 24 hours. YouTube content can literally live for years. I have a video from 2019 I talk about all the time and still to this day drives me new email subscribers every day. The third benefit is Repurpose power. Now I've been talking a little bit about repurposing here on my YouTube channel the last week or so where I dove into my Instagram marketing strategy and my overall content marketing strategy for 2023. But when you use the that you build here on YouTube and you strategically repackage it using the same kind of content that you're talking about, but repackage it for specific platforms, it allows you to double the amount of content that you're creating with less amount of work. The fourth benefit is community. We don't really think about YouTube as a social platform, but 1000% YouTube is a social platform. There's a comment section down below here. And if you think of any of the big YouTubers, how have they grown their their channel? By building a community here on YouTube. YouTube is such a great place to cultivate and nurture a community if you're using it the right way. The fifth benefit that YouTube has is building your credibility and amplifying your visibility. Look, if you are really trying to show people, you know, what you say, you know, being on video will do that. If you're trying to be on podcasts or you're trying to talk on stages, these people, the podcast booker, the conference booker, they need to see you on video. They need to see how well you deliver content. And video here on YouTube does that for you. Before I share what I think is the best YouTube marketing strategy for your business here in 2023, I do want to touch base on two controversial issues I would say that come up when people are deciding if they are going to invest in creating content here on YouTube. That first thing is the length of time it takes to for you to see a return on investment in your YouTube content. Yes, Noah's blowing up their YouTube channel overnight. It takes time and consistency and a library of content here on YouTube for you to see the end results or for you to start seeing a return on the time that you put into creating YouTube videos. But the ROI, the return on investment does come. Like I said, Sunny Lenarduzzi just said in a YouTube video, when looking back on her 2022 YouTube videos, she did about like 32 or 36 video can say each one of those videos generated over $150,000 in revenue for her business. Each one of those videos. And before you say, well, she has lots of subscribers. Well, she even mentions that her videos in 2022 saw half of the amount of use than she saw in previous years. Why? Because she focused her YouTube strategy on targeting the right people, not the masses. Not for everybody. They were created with a specific person because she knew she could get the right people to her videos, she could get them into her program. And that's ultimately led to the ROI of over 150k per video, because she wasn't trying to get all the subscribers or tens of thousands of views. She was ultimately trying to get like a thousand good viewers that would be a great fit for her programs. So then the second argument that comes in is why would I waste my time on YouTube when I can just pump some money into Facebook ads and see quicker, better results? I actually want to show you the power that YouTube has over Facebook ads. This video's primary goal was to get people to apply to my 10k on replay coaching program. There were no Facebook ads promoting this coaching program at all. Zero ads. The primary piece of marketing for this coaching program was this particular video you're looking at. This video didn't go viral. In fact, it had an average amount of views on it. But from this one video that in one week I made $24,000 because the viewers who watched this video were the viewers that I wanted to apply and they ultimately joined my coaching program. YouTube has the power to make that connection with your potential client, with your potential student. That makes them decide, yes, that is who I want to work with, that is who I want to buy from, that is who I want to invest in. And because this small YouTube channel that I, I've built a pretty strong community of people here. And with the niche audience that I target in every single one of my YouTube videos, that's what allowed me to make $24,000 from one YouTube video in under one week. Now there is one more form of content that people go back and forth with, and that's podcasting. Should I YouTube? Should I podcast? Now I get there are benefits of podcasting. You don't have to show up here on video, do your hair and makeup. It is still long form content, so it has that benef. And it doesn't take much editing. You also can still piece it out and repurpose it on other platforms. The thing is, so many people tell me they don't want to start YouTube because it's already saturated. Well, podcasts are just as saturated today. Honestly feels like everybody has at least one podcast, if not more. In fact, I tried podcasting to see if the benefits were really worth it back at the beginning of 2021 and I prefer YouTube. But it's important to realize that as competition continues to increase and podcasting continues to be saturated, you can't just build and grow a successful podcast overnight anymore. You've got to invest in good podcasting equipment. Podcasting isn't just turning a microphone on and talking anymore. You've got to have a whole production strategy and map out what you're going to say. And if you're interviewing people, you need to research them appropriately so you can have good conversations and a good interview session with people. Also, I've got to have that marketing strategy, some type of marketing strategy for people to know about your podcast as well, because it's not as searchable as YouTube. I didn't say not searchable. I said not as searchable. If you have like show notes and all that, yes, your podcast is searchable. But YouTube is owned by Google, the number one and two search engines. So your YouTube videos are gonna usually outrank a podcast episode of anybody's. And that's where your audience is going when they need you most. They're going to search engines like YouTube or Google. So why not show up with content when they're looking for you the most? Okay, so if you're thinking about putting time into some particular piece of long form content here in 2023, I just encourage you to look at the pros and cons of all of them and just really think about which one would be the smartest investment in your time. I'm not going to tell you what the right answer is. I know everybody has different needs and they enjoy different forms of content, but just think about it. But let's say I've sold you on YouTube. You're ready. You know you need YouTube. You've been putting it off for far too long and you're ready to know what your 2023 YouTube marketing strategy should look like. So the first thing that I would recommend and what I'm working on is something that goes against all YouTube advice and is to break the niche mold. Now, there's a caveat here, and I'm going to explain what that means when it comes to breaking the niche mold. We've been told so long to niche, niche, niche. That's how you'll blow up on YouTube. The problem is a lot of us have niched down so far that it's hard to reach a new audience. So, for example, my niche on YouTube has been business owners wanting to use YouTube. It makes it very hard for me to reach business owners looking for content platforms that don't already know it's going to be YouTube. Maybe YouTube is not an option for them. They don't know how YouTube could be an option for them, or they don't even know YouTube exists for this content strategy. So what has happened over the years is my audience kind of dried out. I couldn't really reach new people. I got tired of talking about YouTube strategy. My audience got tired of hearing about YouTube strategy every single week, which just led me to getting unmotivated and my content really being sloppy and uninspiring. So I'm going to crack my niche, so to speak. And what that means is I am going to still be in the online business space. But so many of my audience here want to know how is YouTube taking you to that next step? How are you building that business? How are you creating the courses? How are you hiring team members? How are you creating consistent income? And while YouTube is a huge piece, it's just a small sliver of how I've been able to grow my business year after year after year. And my audience wants to know that. And it's going to allow me to reach more people who are looking for topics like building a team, outsourcing, how to hit consistent income, turning things on Evergreen. Right. It broadens my audience. Now I'm still in a niche. I'm still in the online business space. Right. I'm not going to go post a video next week talking about how I organize my closet, first of all. It's not. But that is not what my audience is going to connect with, is going to be topics around building an online business, how to get to a six figure business. And that could be talking about Instagram like I did last week. That could be talking about email marketing like I am next week. That could be talking about YouTube as well. But it gives me more topics to share with you that excite me and that are going to be helpful for you. The next thing I'm doing differently here on YouTube is I'm going to promote my stuff. So if you've been following me for a while, you have heard about my fireworks strategy about having a core video that sends people off the platform and then these spark videos that then feed into the core video that send people off the platform. Because you don't want to end session time on YouTube every single video. If you want YouTube to push your content to more people. But I'm making a change change. And I like to test it on my channel first before I share it with you. And I'm going to mention my stuff in every single video. And when I say mention it, I always think of Real Housewives of New York, Bethany yelling mention it all. But I really want to utilize YouTube for the growth of my business for the increase in revenue in my that is available at trina little.com forward/going video for just $37. And that is how I'm going to be talking about the things that I have because is going to be more valuable to me than getting a hundred thousand subscribers. It's never going to be like a flat out ad break. It's just going to flow into the topics that I'm talking about. Because my audience needs to learn how to create video content or my audience needs to learn what is the business strategy that they need to create to hit consistent 10k months so that they can have a six figure year. And that's something that I coach you on inside a 10k on replay. So I'm just weaving these call to actions in where it makes sense. All right, the next strategy that I'm doing here in my YouTube marketing plan is creating juicier content for you. Meaning just the tips, the how to's, the hacks, it's not going to cut it anymore on YouTube. It's not going to build you a loyal following that wants to come back video after video. Because what those people are going to be doing that are looking for the hacks, the tips, the how tos, they're coming, they're watching your video, they're getting their question answered and they're peacing out, they're not coming back again and again. And this happened on my YouTube channel and it's why my YouTube channel died for a long time. Because my number one traffic source was YouTube search. And the people that found me on YouTube search just not that valuable, right? They wanted free content. You need to be providing valuable content here on YouTube if you ultimately want this viewer that's going to be watching you, want to work with you, want to buy from you. I'm not going to say how long those videos are going to be, I just. But I want you to understand the more content you share on YouTube doesn't mean the less people are going to buy from you. Because everything that we talk about is somewhere online you have somebody who talks about the same topic that you talk about. So if you aren't going to share that information with them, they're going to go somewhere else else to find it. So why not give them some good information on YouTube to build that trust with them. So when the time comes that they feel comfortable to hire somebody or buy something from somebody, they remember you and all the epic free stuff that you provided them. I promise you filming these larger videos are not affecting my revenue. Bottom line. What you want to focus on is like your special processes. For example my social cycle process. That is my process for what I'm posting when I'm posting on social media. Overall actual process I only share inside of my coaching program 10k on replay which you can apply to join@trina little.com forward/10k but I'm still going to talk to you about the strategy and the theory behind why I'm posting to Instagram. And you can watch that video. I will link it right up here that I did recently. But I'm not going to share with you specific processes that I've set up here on YouTube that is things that will remain behind the paywall. Now I've been on YouTube over seven years.
