This is a YouTube video titled "YouTube YOUR Solution to The Facebook Ad Changes!?" created on August 11, 2021. The content features a single speaker named Tree who discusses the impact of Apple's iOS privacy update on Facebook ads and offers strategies for business owners, course creators, and content creators to shift from paid ads to organic marketing using YouTube and video content. The video includes practical advice on setting up a YouTube channel, repurposing video content, and growing organic traffic as an alternative to relying on Facebook ads.
If you're in the online business space, you may have heard something about Facebook ads and the new Apple iOS update. The thing is, if you haven't been doing ads, you may not know how this is affecting your business. And if you are doing ads, it could have affected your business big time. But I'm here to tell you whether you're doing ads or not. You need to hear what I'm about to tell you in this video. I'm going to walk you through what you need to know whether you are using ads or not when it comes to Facebook ads and the new Apple Security update, and most importantly, what you can do right now so you aren't really reliant on ads now or in the future. The last thing I do want to tell you before we jump into the information is below this video in the description box there are timestamps that will allow you to jump to any specific part of the video that you want to jump to. I know you're short on time, so we've got those timestamps ready for you. So the issue with Facebook ads is something I'm seeing in real time right now with my agency clients. Many of them have doubled down on Facebook ads for a long time and it has been very, very good to them with the new Apple update, which I'm going to tell you about if you haven't heard it or understood what it exactly did to Facebook ads. Because of that, the Facebook ad ATM machine has really dropped out from under them and a lot of them have seen their ads not performing, which means they aren't making money in their business anymore. So they're coming to me to use YouTube to create more organic content. Content that can show up in Google and YouTube when people are searching for. I'm seeing the complete opposite for me right now because my business growth hasn't really been reliant on ads. Last year I spent a total of around US$30,000 on ads total. And if you calculate that out to per day, it's about $83 a day I spent on ads. And look, I know many of you watching here don't even have that amount of money to spend on ads, but I wasn't even seeing significant results on Facebook ads because I wasn't even meeting the threshold of the money I needed to spend to see a return. Many of these people I'm talking about spend up to 10, 20, 30, sometimes $100,000 a month on Facebook ads to really see that huge return on investment where they're doubling or tripling their profits prior to 2021. If you're spending money on ads or if that's a goal you've been thinking about, I'm going to tell you here today what you can do to save your money and get traffic a different way. So first up, what is this iOS March 14.345 update? So, so this update that Apple has pushed to all of its devices, iPads, iPhones, whatever, Apple actually forces you to click allow or don't allow tracking for every single app. So with your iPhone, if you go to open up Facebook and it asks do you want to allow Facebook to track you? You can say yes or no. Facebook wants you to click yes so they can track you to help marketers like me track you and put my ads in front of the best people. But what you probably are thinking, wait a minute, I don't want people tracking me. I don't want people to have my data. So you click no. Now let me just talk a little bit more why Facebook would want you to click yes. So if you allow Facebook to track you, you're actually going to get a little bit better of an experience on Facebook ads because you're going to get ad Specific for you. So for example, if I get on Facebook or Instagram, I want ads probably that are targeted towards me. I'm getting a lot of swimsuit ads right now or video equipment ads. But if Facebook wasn't tracking me, I may get ads like more general, maybe like automotive type ads or something that just doesn't really resonate with me or something that I'm even interested in. So Facebook believes that if you allow them to track you, they're going to give you a better experience on the app and actually get served better ads. That could be what you want or what you need. That's the idea behind it. You're still going to get ads on Facebook and Instagram regardless of if you click yes or no. But if you click yes, you're going to get more ads specific to you and kind of like your viewing or behavior on the Internet. But again, with Apple releasing this update, this privacy update and the way they word it, it really makes you want to click no because you don't want people taking your data and tracking you. So that's the issue that's happening right now, kind of this clashing between Apple and Facebook. Facebook has been allowed to track you. We as marketers have been able to really put our ads in front of the best people possible. But if you're clicking no to tracking you, we now can't find the best for our ads. Does that make sense? Let me know if you're following what I'm saying here. So when people click no, it makes it really hard for marketers like me or any other coaching course creators, content creators, to retarget people. So let's say you go over and check out my website and you're like, oh, this is pretty cool. You would prior to 2021 in this Apple update, probably see an ad from me because you landed on my website. On my website I have embedded in a Facebook pixel which tracks you on the Internet. Kind of creepy, but it lets me know you're potentially a warm lead. You checked out my website. Maybe you went to a landing page of mine and I can retarget you because you're not a completely cold audience to me, which that's more expensive to find cold audience. It's much more cheaper on Facebook ads to retarget you. If you've already been in my circle of content, my website, my landing pages, opt in to email list. And if you've done that, you're what's called a warm lead or a hot lead. So you're going to be more likely to buy or opt into something. Like I said, a free opt in, a free webinar, maybe a lower priced point product, digital product. And that's what has made Facebook's ads so profitable for so many people. Because they just needed to get people onto their website or onto an opt in and we can retarget you. And that's where the higher conversion rates happen now Apple. So anybody on an Apple device is not going to give Facebook that information or that tracking option because they're going to put a wall between all of you on iOS that say no to tracking and Facebook information. There is a wall. So these two will not connect or like converse. This leads into what you need to be doing right now in your business. Whether you're using Facebook ads, whether you've thought about using Facebook ads, or if you don't even know what you're going to do with Facebook ads. This means we need to get back to old school marketing. And old school marketing means organic marketing and organic traffic. Organic traffic is really how bloggers got so big back in like 2010, 2011, 2012. They created these big juicy blog posts that gave a lot of information to Google and then they showed up on Google. When you searched a question or you were looking for some information, this blog post ranked on Google, people would then go to that blog post. The blogger would have ads on their website for other things, not necessarily their products, but some of them did for their products and they made a lot of without using Facebook ads. So we've got to get back to focusing on Google again. And the biggest hack to getting on Google, you guessed it, YouTube videos. Because Google owns YouTube and Google actually finds video content much more valuable than written content. So if you search something over on Google, you're going to see videos at the top of search for almost everything you search. Because Google thinks or believes based on its data, people are more likely to watch a video than read a blog post. Plus what this also allows you to do is now have two hits on the front page of Google for search terms that you want to target. So that means you could have a YouTube video at the top. And if you embed that YouTube video into a meaty blog post, like old school marketing your website, your blog post could also show up on Google, which is amazing if you have two different options for people to click to your content for the terms that you're targeting. And it's all for free because it doesn't cost you you anything to put content up on YouTube or to write a blog Other than having like a domain and those kinds of things, not only does this bring it back to old school marketing, but by focusing on video content and really having one YouTube video as your pillar piece of content, it is so much easier to repurpose your YouTube video into more video content on other platforms. We all know Instagram recently announced that it's no longer a photo sharing app. And so if you want to see any kind of organic reach or organic growth over on Instagram, you need to be using videos over there. So when you start with YouTube, you're going to be able to create videos. Take that, repurpose it on Instagram. Creating videos for the feed for stories, igtv, you can do it for reels. So let me kind of walk you through the process that I do for myself and we also do for our agency clients when it comes to repurposing all that content. Seriously, this process is going to take you off of that exhausting hamster wheel of content creation. And even though you may not think video is going to save you time right now, trust me, doing this process is going to save you so much time in the long run. Okay, if you're getting excited about this plan and this repurposing plan sounds like a perfect thing for you, type in the comments below. This is for me because I'm going to tell you your first steps to getting organic. Okay? So obviously the first step is to have a YouTube channel. And I highly recommend just getting your YouTube channel set up. You don't need to have a strategy yet, you don't need to know what videos you're going to do, but create that YouTube channel. We can take this step slow, okay? But your first step should be getting some type of presence on YouTube. So create that channel, add your channel banner, add your profile picture, add some information in the about section. Because people can still subscribe to you even if you don't have any videos. They can still hit subscribe. And when you do start publishing videos, you're already going to have a built in audience ready to watch your videos. You got your YouTube channel set up because you're going to start creating YouTube videos. Now. This video is already getting a little bit longer. So I have this entire playlist of about four videos for you that's going to walk you through how to start finding the best videos and how to start creating the best videos for your YouTube channel so you can start having more of your content showing up in Google.
