POS Print Settings: Control When Your Kitchen Tickets Print

Perdium's POS Print Settings let you control when kitchen tickets print for online orders. Choose Immediate, Fixed (minutes before pickup), or By Prep Time. Set it up in four steps on your dashboard, but note that a Kitchen Display System will override these settings.

Every online order should reach your kitchen as smoothly as a walk-in sale. POS print settings control when and how order tickets print at your POS terminal, so your kitchen or prep team gets every online order on paper right when they need it. Here's how it helps. You can fine-tune exactly when tickets hit the printer, so your team has the right runway for each order. Print too early and tickets pile up and create clutter. Print too late, and orders rush in with no buffer. Soperdium gives you 3 modes to match your workflow. Immediate: prints the instant an order arrives. Great for high volume or walk-in pickup, where your team wants tickets as they come. Fixed: prints a set number of minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Say, 10 minutes ahead, so your team starts prepping with consistent lead time. And "By Prep Time" uses the prep time you've configured for each fulfillment type and location, so longer prep items automatically get their tickets earlier. Setting it up takes just a few steps: 1. Go to Order Placement, then POS Print Settings in your dashboard. 2. Pick your print timing mode: Immediate, Fixed, or "By Prep Time." 3. If you choose Fixed, set how many minutes before pickup the ticket should print. If you choose "By prep time," just make sure your prep times are configured under Order Placement, Prep Times. 4. Save. Here's how it works behind the scenes: When a customer places an order through your mobile app or web ordering site, Perdium sends that order to your Square POS. The POS then prints a receipt ticket at the time you've set: immediate, fixed, or by prep time. The customer never sees this step—it's entirely behind the scenes, keeping your team in sync. And the ticket includes every detail: items, modifiers, fulfillment type, pickup time, and any special instructions the customer added at checkout, as long as you have the Order Note toggle enabled. If you're running a kitchen display system, keep this in mind: your KDS overrides these print settings. So when a KDS is in play, it controls how orders reach your kitchen, not the print timing you set here. That's POS Print Settings— the right ticket at the right time, so your kitchen always stays a step ahead. Link below to see it live.
