Between orders is where you keep customers connected, and where you nudge them toward their next one. Posts and banners are two ways to share content and promotions right inside your branded mobile app and web ordering site. Let's start with posts. Think of posts as a content feed your customers can scroll through. There are two kinds: standard posts, with a title, body text, and a button that links wherever you want—your menu, subscriptions, store credit, or any URL. And Image Posts: image only, in 3 aspect ratios—square, landscape, or vertical. Every post lets you upload an image, toggle it on or off, schedule start and end dates, and set where it links when a customer taps it. Banners are promotional blocks, and they're built to drive action. There are two types: announcement banners, a bar at the top or bottom of the screen, and popup banners, a modal that overlays the screen, shown once, once per day, or every time. Banners are your most targetable tool. They support time-of-day windows, one of the few Per Diem features with native time-of-day targeting, plus day-of-week scheduling, audience segments, and location targeting. You can embed a coupon code, add action buttons that link to your menu, subscriptions, store credit, gift cards, a specific post, or a custom URL, and style them with an image, without one, or with video. Phone numbers even become tap-to-call links on mobile. You pick the channel for each banner, mobile app or web, and create a separate one if you want it on both. So how do they help? Posts keep customers engaged between orders, announce a new item, share a seasonal promo, spotlight a catering package, or tell your brand story. And because they're persistent, customers can scroll back through your feed anytime. Banners drive action right now. A happy hour promo that only runs 5 to 8 PM a limited-time coupon code, or a subscription pitch to first-time visitors. Targeted by group, location, or time, they're perfect for timely, high-visibility campaigns. Together, they let you control the narrative inside your ordering experience, nudging customers toward high-margin items, boosting loyalty signups, and keeping them ordering direct instead of through third-party apps. Here's where to set them up. Posts live under Marketing, Posts. Banners under Marketing, Banners. Both are available to every per diem merchant, and owners, general managers, and managers can create and edit them. To create a post, go to Marketing, Posts, Create a Post. Choose Standard or Image. For a standard post, add your title, body, button text, and link, and upload an image if you'd like. For an image post, upload your image and pick the aspect ratio. Set start and end dates if you want it scheduled, toggle it active, and save. To create a banner, go to Marketing, Banners, Create a Banner. Choose Announcement or Pop-up, and select the channel, mobile app or web. Add your message and pick a style. Set your display rules: start and end dates, day of week, a time of day window, and which locations show it. Link it to a destination, optionally embed a coupon code, preview, and save. And where do customers see them? Posts appear in a scrollable feed inside your mobile app, on the home screen, or a dedicated Posts tab, depending on your layout. Posts don't show on the web ordering site. Banners appear in both the mobile app and the web ordering site, wherever you chose when creating them. Announcement banners sit at the top or bottom of the screen, pop-ups overlay the screen when a customer opens the app or site, and both update in real time. Save a post or banner and it goes live on the next app refresh or page load. That's Posts and Banners, your own channel to engage customers and drive action right where they order.
