In this Business Blast Podcast episode, host Tyler Wagner interviews Belkis Clarke-Mitcham, a motivational speaker and spiritual life coach. Belkis shares a pivotal personal story about moving to a tiny Caribbean island, experiencing divorce, isolation, and community hostility, which became a crucible that revealed her inner strength and the power of mindset and authenticity. She emphasizes that true progress requires confronting one's authentic self and often seeking coaching to reach that place. Her business advice centers on embracing risk, trusting one's knowledge, admitting uncertainty, and staying open to learning every facet of a business. When reflecting on advice for her younger self, she stresses self‑worth, confronting fear, and perseverance. Belkis defines happiness as knowing God and oneself, living truthfully, and discarding imposed beliefs that don’t align with one's authentic identity. She cites the Bible as her foundational spiritual text, highlighting its truths and the belief that with God, all things are possible. Her favorite personal quote, written at age ten, underscores that nothing God controls can set her back, prompting continual forward motion. The episode concludes with her website, www.bellkissclock.com, for listeners to connect with her services.

All right everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Business Blast podcast. I'm your host Tyler Wagner, and today I have Belkis Clark Mitchum with us. She is a motivational speaker and spiritual life coach. So welcome to the show, Belkis.
Thank you so much for having me, Tyler.
Of course, thank you for joining us, and we will dive in. The first question I have for you, Belkis, is What is the best story from your life that has an underlying valuable message?
When I moved to a tiny island in the Caribbean, that's like 3,000 people, I ended up divorced. Not what I expected. So here I was on a tiny island, no family, no friends, in my ex-husband's hometown, a community that was really horrible to me. The gossip, the lies, the refusal to associate. I was totally alienated and absolutely crushed, of course, because it's a horrible experience, quite heart-wrenching, with no support system around. But when crushed, they kind of start to ground me into even more, those particles into the ground even more. And it was really, truly a horrendous place, not a place I ever want to go back to. But from those ashes, the truth of who I am rose because I started to see who I was in a different light. My strength rose, and it taught me that the human spirit is stronger than we give it credit for. And mindset and determination combined with an authentic person is some of the greatest tools that there are, and they are free.
And what is the most valuable piece of information we should know that's within your expertise or industry?
Nothing worth having really happens until you face the truth of who you are. Your authentic self deserves a chance to be. And most times you need help to do that. That's what I do— coach, you know, coach you to the best place, the place where your best self resides.
And I could not agree with you more. And, uh, what is your best piece of overall business advice? So not necessarily industry specific.
Do not be afraid to try. Trust what you know. Take a chance on yourself and do not be afraid to say you don't know. Be open to learning about every aspect of your business.
And if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Oh, wow. You are enough. For every adversity, adversity, sorry, or every adventure, you have what it takes. And fear, fear will come. So acknowledge it, face it, and then move on anyway. That's what I tell myself.
And in your opinion, I'm excited for your answer on this one, what is the key to happiness?
Know God, know yourself. Do not be afraid to be who you truly are designed to be. Decide if what people have told you, all the things you've heard, read, learned, been socialized to believe, is it truly who you are? And if yes, keep it. If not, forget it and then live your truth. Live it passionately, live it fully, but live it kindly.
And what is the best book that you've read and what was the number one thing you learned from that?
Quite honestly, coming from a spiritual background, the Bible has been fundamental for me because there's so many truths in it. But I believe that with the Creator, with God, all things are possible.
And what is your favorite quote and why?
Well, this was a quote that as a 10-year-old I wrote down that became like a governing It's like a governing idea for my life that says nothing God can control will set me back, thus I'll always be moving forward. Because if I believe that God is in control of the universe and I align myself with that controlling power, then it means that who I am, that I can unleash— I am in my right space, right time, meeting the right people, making the most impact. So So that's why that, that means so much to me. Nothing I can control will set me back. Thus, I will always be moving forward. Yes.
Thank you so much for coming on. Very inspirational episode. The last question I have for you before we let you go is where's the best place for people to find you online?
www.bellkissclock.com.
