Daily Gratitude

Tyler Wagner describes a daily gratitude practice: write three things you're grateful for each morning and night with pen and paper. It takes 2-5 minutes per session and compounds over weeks. Many successful people use this method.

Hey, Tyler here with Authors Unite, and today I wanted to talk about gratitude and just how powerful it actually is. I was interviewing somebody last week on the Authors Unite show on the podcast, and he was discussing about how like gratitude has just like transformed his life, meaning like every morning he writes a few things that he's grateful for, and every night he writes a few things that he's grateful for. I know this sounds so simple and I think for some people when they hear this, they kind of think like, "Yeah, right. That's not actually what propelled your life." But the thing is, it's interesting. Just imagine this. Every morning when you start your day, if you were to write 3 things that you're grateful for, it'll start to be planted. Pen and paper, I recommend doing it that way. It'll start to get implanted in your head. right? So then your day— and it won't— not right away, right? Like the first day of you doing this, I mean, there will be some effect, but not like unbelievably. Over time it compounds. So like throughout the day, that'll be kind of in the back of your head. And then at night, write 3 things that you're grateful for again, and then sleep, right? So then it's a part of like your sleep. So right before you fall asleep, that's within your mind as well. So just think about it like just logically. If you start your day thinking about things that you're grateful for and end your day thinking about things that you're grateful for, then whatever's in between, which is the actual day, there's a high probability that, you know, over a few weeks, few months, you might just start to feel this over-sensation of gratitude for everything in your life because that's literally what you've been putting into your brain every morning and every night, you know. So, you know, that's really it for the video. Like, for anybody that, you know, doesn't think it works or has ideas about or whatever opinions, just try it, you know what I mean? It literally takes like 2 to 5 minutes, like in the morning, just get a piece of pen or get a pen, a piece of paper, write 3 things that you're grateful for, and before you go to bed, do it again. Give yourself 30 days and just see if you feel any different, 'cause I'm sure that you will. It's something that I've done in my life now for maybe 5, 6 years or something, maybe a little longer actually. And I know a lot of really successful people that do this. So yeah, if you've been thinking about it or unsure, I mean, it doesn't take much time, just give it a try. And I'm curious about, for those of you that do try this, I'm curious about your feedback on it. So let me know. Talk to you soon.
