All right everyone, welcome back to the Business Blast Podcast. I'm your host Tyler Wagner, and today I have Delilah Cordova with us. She's a strategic marketing coach for authors, so welcome to the show, Delilah.
Why, thank you for having me.
Of course. So I'll dive right in. The first question I have for you is, what's the most valuable piece of information we should know that's within your expertise or industry?
So as a strategic marketing coach for authors, my best advice that I can give to anybody in my industry is to make sure that you have a complete marketing system. And what I mean by marketing system is sales funnels, uh, and your landing pages, um, and everything that you need to make everything work cohesively. And then on top of that, you need to also make sure that you don't have any holes in your system. So that you're not allowing people or your other, what do you call it, you're not allowing for revenue to leak out of your sales funnel or for people not to have a chance to reengage with your business. So that's the best piece of advice I could ever give anybody because a lot of business owners, especially in authors, They create sales funnels, but they don't review their process and they don't check over what they have created to make sure that they are not missing opportunities to make money or missing out, you're losing people that they could have stayed in the long run, so.
And what's your best piece of overall business advice? So not necessarily industry specific.
Well, my best piece of overall advice is to make sure that you, at least at one point in time, get a team member. Because you're not going to grow by yourself. You're going to need somebody who's going to be able to help you get some of the workload off so that you can focus on more of your money-generating activities. At the end of the day, it's all about making money. If you've got to allocate all your time into creating and being innovative and making more digital products, So always be on the lookout for good, good sources to hire, you know?
Definitely, definitely. And if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Go to college, get that out the way, make your— get your degree. And then if all else fails, leave the boys alone.
And in your opinion, what's the key to happiness?
Well, the key to happiness is to find what you're, you know, really striving to do. And in other words, your life purpose. You got to know what makes you happy. You got to be able to pinpoint what your fulfillment needs exactly are. And that's the key to happiness because everybody else's key is different.
Yeah, of course. And what's the best book you've read? I'm sure you read a lot, but if you could pick one, what's the best one you've read and what was the number one thing you learned from it?
The best book that I've read was by Michael Ogier. It's Law of Attraction. And the reason why it was the best book is because it teaches you how to think positively and how to turn on your allowing valves to allow more abundance in your life. And by being open-minded and thinking in a positive light and changing the way that you speak, it opens doors so rapidly you couldn't even imagine. So Law of Attraction, Michael Ogier.
Law of Attraction is real. I love it. What's your favorite quote and why?
I don't think I have one really.
Do you go by like a motto? It doesn't have to be like a direct quote, but maybe like a motto.
A motto? For me, I'm just like Gary Vee. It's like you get in, you hustle hard, you work hard, and the results will come. Just don't give up and grind it out every day.
And I can relate to that.
But don't do it blindly to where you're not profiting, but grinding just to be grinding, but grinding that has a purpose.
Definitely, and I'm a huge Gary Vee fan, so I like that. And just before we let you go, where's the best place for people to find you online?
Yeah, I'm on Facebook under Delilah Cordova International Marketing Export. Or you can reach me at smartmarketingforauthors.com.
Perfect. Thank you again for coming on. We appreciate it.
