How To Grow An Outdoor Activity Business | Infinite Partnership System

Tyler Wagner shows outdoor activity operators how to grow by partnering instead of competing. A Miami tour-bus company could refer customers to kayak and yacht rentals, while yacht owners bundle jet-ski trips, creating a referral network that expands reach for everyone without extra advertising.

All right, so this is how to grow an outdoor activity business. So what I mean by that is like kayaking, like a park that you have to pay for to get in. Like I think there's like Japanese gardens down here that you have to pay to walk through up in Boca Raton. Canoeing, any sort of like and locals obviously do this stuff too. I live down in Miami, locals do this stuff too, but like a touristy activity, right? So how you would grow that is find all of the other activities like that and partner up with them, right? So the best example, just because I've lived here for about 6 years now in Miami, right? So a couple of the main things you can like, you can rent yachts, you can rent like fishing boats. You can go kayaking. You can, you know, go into these nice parks that sometimes you have to pay for. And there's so many other— kite surfing, jet skiing, like, right? It's really limitless. Like any of these types of activities. You want to reach out to all of these people. And here's the issue, right? Like a lot of people view Other touristy— oh, and here's the last one that I just wanted to say. So the last one, and there's many, right? But the last one is like a tour bus, right? So there's a bus here that like it has an open top and then it goes all around Miami and like gives you a tour of like Miami Beach, Brickell, and downtown and everything. So a lot of people view it's like if I sell kayaks and you sell boats, like we're kind of comp— we're kind of competition. Right? Because if somebody's boating, they're not kayaking. Okay? So I don't view it like that at all. And I don't think you should either. How you should view it is be like, hey, somebody who goes fishing obviously likes to be outside and on the water. So they also might like kayaking. Okay? Right? They also might like jet skiing. Probably so. Like a lot of times when you rent yachts here, you can actually Like you can actually rent jet skis on top of it, right? And then they'll actually bring jet skis out like with you. And then you, you know, you take the yacht out and then you have the jet skis out there, you go around and then the yacht goes to a different location and then you, you know, drive around. So if you partner with all of your, like, it's really not competitors, they're all complementary businesses. If you partner with all your local touristy outdoor activity type businesses, and give them referral commissions, then it'll be kind of just like this almost like mechanism of partners that's like anybody who goes fishing will then know about this person who sells kayaking, this person who sells jet skis, this person who does yachts and so on and so forth. And like, for instance, the tour, right? So people are taking a tour bus around Miami. Imagine if like that tour bus was just like, hey, hope you enjoyed, uh, hope you enjoy the tour. And actually while on the tour, they would point out and be like, hey, here's where you can rent yachts from this person. Here's where you can rent jet skis from this person. And it's because they have that partnership with them. So, um, if you do have a business where you, um, basically, uh, rent or charge, uh, people for outdoor sort of activities like fishing, jet skiing, park type stuff, this could be a great way to dramatically grow your business.
