Malcolm Simone testimonial

Two authors explain why Tyler Wagner's book promotion approach works where others failed. His data-driven strategy got their book to number one on the Wall Street Journal nonfiction list, something previous PR teams couldn't deliver despite being likable.

Before we were introduced to Tyler Wagner, we had worked with a variety of different people doing book promotion, PR, et cetera, many of which we really liked, but none of which really understood the game behind what gets results the way that Tyler does. In fact, Malcolm, Malcolm here really understood how to get views and sales way better than anyone else that we knew. And so we ended up doing everything ourselves and we're honestly quite dubious of working with anybody else.
For you, we had almost given up on working with PR teams. We ended up with this project actually hiring like 4 different PR teams at the same time just to see if any of them could do any good. Tyler was like, I, not like a league, multiple standard deviations above everyone else. It was as if he was playing a different game than everyone else was playing.
Yeah, everyone else is in the Matrix. Everyone else is like walking around. And he's like Neo. He can see the numbers and it's very rare.
And you talk You talk to a normal PR person and, uh, you're like, well, can you do this? Can you do this? And they're always prefaced with, well, you know, I really can't promise you anything. I really can't. You know, this stuff all happens at its own time. And he's like, okay, we're gonna get this by this date and this by this date and this by this date. Uh, and I loved that because it showed that he wasn't just shooting at the sky and hoping a bird fell down. You know, he knew exactly where to apply his efforts. And it was remarkable. And he's one of those people that is so good that I'm actually a little hesitant to recommend him to people sometimes because I don't want other people to know how our books have done so well. I'm like, well, if they work with Tyler, then they're gonna think, oh, it's easy to do this well with a book. You know, with him, we were able to hit the number one nonfiction place, it was the Wall Street Journal. That's, that's just incredible. We hadn't even hit the Wall Street Journal list with our previous titles. And this is one of those things where it's just, he knew the game. He knew the game. He knew how to play it. And, yeah.
Yeah. The holy grail of a promotion or marketing expert to work with. Someone who actually gives you results and actually knows how to get them. It's beautiful. Thank you, Tyler Wagner.
