Alright everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Business Blast podcast. I'm your host Tyler Wagner, and today I have Melody Spencer with us. She is a digital marketing and Facebook ad strategist. So welcome to the show, Melody.
Hey, thank you so much for having me.
Hey guys, of course, thanks for joining us. We really appreciate it, and we will dive in. The first Question I have for you, Melody, is what is the best story from your life that has an underlying valuable message?
Yeah, so the best story I have is really how I started my business. I encourage everyone to really follow their passion and their bliss, and I was in a 9-to-5 job that I hated, and I just realized life was too short and I needed to just go out on my own and do my own thing. And 6 years later, here I am enjoying my life, actually enjoying what I'm doing and loving my clients. So don't be afraid to just take a leap. It's real scary, but it's 100% worth it.
And what is the most valuable piece of information we should know that's within your expertise or industry?
So what people often don't do in terms of digital marketing and Facebook ads is testing. They just throw stuff up there and hope and pray that it'll connect with their audience. So they, you really need to test out your audiences, test out your content, test out your landing pages and see what's gonna resonate with the right people so you can make those sales and grow your audience.
And what is your best piece of overall business advice? So not necessarily industry specific.
Be yourself, be honest, and be vulnerable. I'm all about heart-centered marketing, so the more you can connect with people on a human level, on an emotional level, the better. Because in the end, everybody are people and they need to connect with you on a non-salesy way. Like, you, I don't know, just connect with people in a heart-centered way.
And if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Oh my gosh, stop trying to please everybody. Stop it. Just stop. You cannot please everybody. And not everybody's gonna like you. Just, just get over it.
And this might lead into this. So in your opinion, what is the key to happiness?
The key to happiness is Just enjoying your life, enjoying every single moment and not taking the little things for granted.
And what is the best book that you've read and what was the number one thing you learned from that?
Well, that's hard because I'm a book nerd. But one of my favorite business books is You're a Badass by Jen Sincero. And basically it just helped me to stand up and stand in my power and realize I do have amazing things to say and the right people will I want to listen to them.
And what is your favorite quote and why?
Oh, that's hard. I have so many favorite quotes. I really love, "Nevertheless, she persisted," because I feel like that's something I have to do all the time. No matter what obstacle I come up against, no matter what people say, no matter what kind of day I'm having, I'm just going to keep persisting. I'm going to keep trying. I'm going to keep going because that's just who I am. That's the kind of entrepreneur I am.
Yes, thank you so much for coming on. The last question I have for you before we let you go is where's the best place for people to find you online?
