All right, everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Business Blast Podcast. I'm your host, Tyler Wagner. Today I have Michelle Molitor with us. She is your executive confidence coach and rapid rewire expert. So welcome to the show, Michelle.
I'm trying, Tyler. Glad to be here.
Of course. Thanks for joining us. We'll dive in. The first question I have for you, Michelle, is what is the best story from your life that has an underlying valuable message?
The shorthand version is in my former life as a creative director in web development, I got bullied out of my fancy highfalutin job here in the Bay Area, and I had just moved here, and it was really devastating for me. But the gift of that blow and being let go um, actually put me on my path to finding my life's purpose. So when a door closes, know that another door will always open, and it'll probably be a lot better door for you.
And what is the most valuable piece of information we should know that's within your expertise or—
uh, let's see, um, your mind is yours to direct. And/or it can direct you. So your job is to tell your mind exactly what you want and where you want it to take you. Otherwise it will do the driving for you. So I always tell folks that, you know, your habits of thought create your habits of action. So where do you want your thoughts to take you? You get to choose.
And what's your best piece of overall business advice? So not necessarily industry specific.
Do what you love and love what you do, man. Life is short. I learned that lesson pretty, pretty quickly. And so if you're not all into the work that you're doing, then something's out of alignment with your mind, body, and spirit. So figure out what that is for you and then get on with doing it. Because what's a life filled with regrets when you could do what you want and figure out how to do that, get paid well to do it at the same time?
And it might tie in, but if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Oh, that's a great question. Um, have faith in yourself. Find your confidence because the confidence is key to everything. And when you can find your confidence, then many more doors unfold because you're able to see them, um, from a place of groundedness versus place of fear.
And in your opinion, what is the key to happiness?
The key to happiness is learning how to take your greatest source of pain and turning it into a gift for others, using that pain as fuel for your passions and purpose in the world. And when you can do that, you can do what you love and love what you do. Um, and feel really a contribution in the world. And that's what I found most humans really want, is to just be of contribution in some way, shape, or form.
And what is the best book that you've read, and what was the number one thing you learned from that?
Uh, let's see, one of my favorite books is The Icarus Deception by Seth Godin, and, uh, it's, it, it's all about how do you, how do you create your art in the world, AKA How do you bring your gifts, your skills, your passions, your purpose to the world in a good way instead of hiding out in a cubicle and watching the clock go by and existing? So it's about how do you thrive in your life versus going through the motions.
And what is your favorite quote and why?
Ah, let's see, my favorite quote is, "Rewire your brain, think new thoughts, and your life will follow." Because I've learned through my work as an executive coach over the last 17 years that our brain is a very powerful place. And so when you can learn to take back the power of your brain, of identifying the thoughts that no longer serve you and literally rewiring them, which you can do a lot easier than you think, then you can create new thoughts, you can create new realities, and your life will be filled with the things you choose instead of reacting to fears that are driving— often a driving force in a lot of people's lives. Yes.
Thank you so much for coming on. The last question I have for you before we let you go is where's the best place for people to find you online?
Sure. You can find me at Nectar Consulting, N-E-C-T-A-R consulting.com, like honey to a bee, if you will. And you can learn more about my work as an executive confidence coach and rapid transformational therapist, helping people rewire their brains and to create the lives that They love. Thanks for having me.
Of course. Thank you again for coming on. We really appreciate it.
All right. Have an awesome day. Bye-bye.
