In this Business Blast Podcast episode, host Tyler Wagner interviews relationship expert and bestselling author Patricia Fuqua, who specializes in second‑time‑around relationships. Patricia shares a personal story of overcoming depression through the teachings of A Course in Miracles, emphasizing that managing thoughts shapes feelings and life outcomes. She explains that clarity of vision—knowing exactly what one wants to experience in a new relationship—boosts the chance of achieving it. Her core business advice for practitioners is to solve the problem the customer actually wants solved, rather than the one the practitioner assumes. When asked for advice to her younger self, she says, “Don’t worry, be happy.” She identifies gratitude as the key to happiness, describing it as a powerful emotion that attracts more reasons to be grateful. Patricia cites A Course in Miracles as the most influential book, teaching the power of choice between happiness and depression. Her favorite quote, “Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind,” encapsulates her philosophy that thoughts direct feelings, situations, and outcomes. The episode concludes with her contact information—LinkedIn profile and email—inviting listeners to a 15‑minute consultation about second‑time‑around relationships.

Alright everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Business Blast Podcast. I'm your host Tyler Wagner. Today I have Patricia Fuqua with us. She is a relationship expert specializing in the second time around and a best-selling author. So welcome to the show, Patricia.
Thank you, Tyler. I'm happy to be here.
Of course, happy to have you on. We'll dive in. The first question I have for you, Patricia, is what's the best story from your life that has an underlying valuable message?
Well, I live a charmed life, but I once suffered from depression caused by my stinking thinking. And after reading A Course in Miracles, I discovered I could choose to be happy and focus on those things that I could be grateful for, and my mood improved tremendously. So the underlying message is: when we manage our thoughts, we manage our feelings, and our life becomes better.
And what's the most valuable piece of information we should know that's within your expertise or industry?
Within my industry, the important thing is to— that when a person knows what they want to experience, what they want to feel the second time around, you can increase your opportunities to get that 100%. So clarity of vision is what I help people do.
And what's your best— oops, sorry about that. What is your best piece of overall business advice, so not necessarily industry-specific?
For practitioners, it's the idea of solving the problem that your customer wants solved, not the one that you think they should solve.
And if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Don't worry, be happy.
I like it. And leading into that, then, in your opinion, what is the key to happiness?
Gratitude. Gratitude for what I have and what I am and the people around me and my circumstances. And that powerful emotion brings me more things and people to be happy and grateful for.
And what is the best book that you've read? And what was the number one thing you learned from that?
A Course in Miracles is the best book I've ever read, and it taught me about the power of choice. I could choose to be happy, I could choose to be depressed. When I chose to be happy, life was so much more fun.
And what's your favorite quote and why?
Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind. And it is my favorite because it is underlining the philosophy that when we direct our thoughts, we We direct our feelings, we direct our situations, and we get more of what we want. And life is just more fun.
Yes, I love it. Thank you so much for coming on. The last question I have for you before we let you go is, where's the best place for people to find you online?
