In this panel excerpt, Adrienne Dodd explains the origin and vision of her upcoming anthology centered on hope. Inspired by a personal moment, she reached out to Ivar Eetje‑Powits, sparking the idea of gathering voices from around the world. The project now includes contributors from 15 countries, featuring high‑profile figures such as Pope Francis and a former president of Ireland, and is framed as a "peace treaty" to inspire change. Tyler Wagner of Authors Unite describes his firm’s role in marketing the book, aiming for bestseller status and placement in major outlets like the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and visibility with cultural icons (Oprah, Obama). The discussion also ties the book’s relevance to post‑COVID needs for better living, health, and resilience, positioning the anthology as a catalyst for global hope and personal empowerment.

I understand that you've got a book coming. It'd be lovely if you could share some insights about this beautiful book that I can't wait to get my hands on.
My name is Adrienne Dodd. The word hope popped in my mind. That day completely changed my life, and I think it changed the trajectory of many other lives. And I said, why don't we get these people to write a book together to inspire the world? And the very first phone call that I made was to Ivar Eetje-Powits here from South Africa.
I said, Ivar, what do you think about us doing a book of all of these wonderful people together to inspire the world? And he's like, Adrienne, that's a really Idea.
After that, person I called, he's one of the most successful marketing companies for books in the world. He said, this is a bestseller.
I just fell in love with it.
I said, wow, I have something special. So I started that book, and right now I have 15 countries signed up for it, including some very famous people like Pope Francis and the former president of Ireland. And I could name-drop into oblivion, but some people who are just extremely impressive. Whole countries can have that. The book was a bit of a peace treaty as well, and that's how you change the world.
So when Adria contacted me about this idea, what we do at my company Authors Unite is we help authors sell a lot of books, hitting the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, being in front of people like Oprah, Obama. And with how much impact this book can have with the people that are involved in it, I just think her and the people in it and then our marketing capabilities are going to make a huge impact with the book.
Since COVID there is a need for, as you said, better living, better opportunities, how to make an impact in this world. So a book like Adrienne's would be perfect at this time.
Health is your number one asset, bettering yourself. So, you know, if there is a next wave, you can be maybe more prepared for such a thing.
A lot more grounding as well. And I think this whole panel is all about grounding and giving back, as you were saying, Adrienne, giving back, as Ivar was saying as well. So thank you for that.
