In this Business Blast podcast episode, host Tyler Wagner interviews Tracy Herbert, a best‑selling author, speaker, podcast host, and coach. Tracy shares a powerful personal story of being told at 17 that she would die within 20 years due to diabetes, and how she celebrated her 40‑year diagnosis by cycling 3,527 miles from San Francisco to New York, illustrating her "never give up" mantra. She emphasizes the urgency of taking control of one’s health, the importance of coaches and mentors, and offers concrete business productivity advice: wake early, write the five most important tasks, and tackle them in order. Tracy advises her younger self to fear not taking risks, defines happiness as living each day as if it were the last, and cites the Bible as the most impactful book because it focuses on others. Her favorite quote, "Eat to live, don’t live to eat," reshaped her relationship with food and boosted her energy in her 50s. The episode concludes with a plug for her website, TracyHerbert.com, where listeners can access free resources and her social media links.

She's a best-selling author, speaker, podcast host, and coach. So welcome to the show, Tracy.
Thanks, Tyler, looking forward to it.
Of course, thanks for joining us. Uh, we'll dive in. The first question I have for you is, what's the best story from your life that has an underlying valuable message?
Being told 40 years ago at the age of 17 that I would die within 20 years and have horrible complications. How did I celebrate my 40th diagnosis of my diabetes? I rode my bicycle from San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, which is a total of 3,527 miles. So my underlying valuable message Never give up, no matter the odds or the age.
Wow. Well, thank you for sharing that, Tracy. That's a wild story. Thank you. Um, and next question is, what's the most valuable piece of information we should know that is within your expertise or industry?
We gotta take control of our health right now. Don't put it off until tomorrow. Taking the easy way out doesn't work in life, health, or business. Successful people, just like yourself and me, we have coaches and mentors, and that's huge.
And what's your best, best piece of overall business advice? So not necessarily industry specific.
Don't hit the snooze button on the alarm. Get up early and write down the 5 most important things to do that day in order of importance, and then do them starting with the most important one first.
And if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would that be?
Don't be afraid of failure. Be afraid of not taking those risks.
And in your opinion, I'm excited for your answer on this one. In your opinion, what's the key to happiness?
Living each day like it's the last day and don't put things off.
And what's the best book that you've read and what was the number one thing you learned from that?
It's the Bible because it's not about me, it's about other people.
And what's your favorite quote and why?
Eat to live, don't live to eat. Because when I realized food was hurting me more than helping me, I totally changed the way I viewed food and have more energy in my late 50s today than I even did in my mid-30s.
Yes. Thank you so much for coming on, Traci. The last question I have for you before we let you go is where's the best place for people to find you online?
TracyHerbert.com. That's T-R-A-C-Y-H-E-R-B-E-R-T.com, where I offer lots of free resources, and you can find links to all my social media accounts and podcast links.
Awesome. Thanks again for coming on, Tracy. We appreciate it.
Thanks so much. Have a healthy, great day.
