#1 Best Way to Detoxify Your Body and Eliminate Parasites with Laura Frontiero

This is a YouTube video titled "#1 Best Way to Detoxify Your Body and Eliminate Parasites with Laura Frontiero" recorded in November 2024. It features a conversational interview between Natalie Jill and Laura Frontiero, known as the Gut Genie, discussing parasite detoxification, gut health, toxin exposure, and holistic approaches to improving health. They share personal experiences, medical insights, and practical advice on managing parasites and supporting the immune system through proper testing and protocols.
We're talking today about the number one way to remove, to release, to detoxify your body of parasites. We don't want the critters. How do we get rid of them? And what is the number one way we have the Gut Genie here today? I cannot wait to dive into this topic. The Gut Genie. My dear friend Laura. She has been on my podcast many times. We're bringing her to YouTube now as well. For those of you listening to us for the first time, you're in for a treat. And just know we've got lots of other episodes we've done around this topic. If you want to see any pictures. I promise we're not going to show actual critters worms today, but you might want to see some of the stuff we're talking about and make sure you hit the subscribe button so you don't miss another episode. And if you're on the podcast, thanks for being here. Laura, welcome back to the show. You are my most popular guest. You've been on so many times. Thank you. I think I've lost track. Have I had you on like eight times? Probably.
I don't know. We've done this a couple times. It's been fun. I mean, more than a couple. It's been a lot.
Yes, I know. I love having you. One, because you're my dear friend. But two, because you are crazy knowledgeable when it comes to this topic and you have change the lives of so many people I know, including myself and many, many, many of my clients. I know you're like that natural next step when people do my Thrive program. So let's dive into. Today we're going to talk more about those critters and what's going on because there's a lot of weird things happening on the Internet around parasites.
I know, right? There are. It seems like everybody's jumped on the parasite wagon. So clearly we've done a good job of bringing awareness. But I will say that the majority of people are giving bad advice out there.
They are. Now this is a very personal thing to my just. I'm not going to go through the whole crazy long story again because many of you have heard Laura on before. But just to give you a little gist of what happened here a couple years ago. Gosh, it was already almost a couple years ago. I was having my own really weird health challenges and I just chalked it up like everybody else does to menopause perimenopause. I'm like, it's just the hormone thing. That's what's going on. But I could not shake it. I was definitely gaining weight. I had lots of pain in my body. I had a lot of excuses as to why I had pain and weight. A lot of reasons. I'm like, I had surgery, I had all these things. But the thing that really got my attention was a blood sugar dysregulation. I had an off the charts blood sugar dysregulation. My doctor had asked me to start wearing a CGM, a continual glucose monitor, because my blood sugar, my A1C, which is your average over three months and your fasting blood sugar were not normal. They were in the pre diabetic mode which didn't make sense for someone who works out and eats as well as I did. So she had me wearing a cgm. My blood sugar was not in normal zone. It would go up to like 2:50 from eating. After I'd eat like not even having sugar, it would jump up and I couldn't understand what was going on there. I was looking at western medicine and Laura being my friend, kept tapping me going, you know, you know parasites can cause blood sugar dysregulation. That's the first thing you said to me. Do you remember that?
Yeah, I know. And you're, but Laura, I'm, I'm working with a doctor. We've got this, this, we're going to do all these other things. I'm like, okay, but I think we should really look into this. I think we should really look into this.
And by the way, when I went right to my doctor and said, and I went to like a pretty savvy, not just western medicine doctor and I said, I just heard that I possibly could have parasites. They looked at me cross eyed, they're like, no. And they did like a wrong type of test which we're going to get into to figure out. And they're like, no, you don't have parasites based on this wrong. Whatever type of test they did. But long story short, I ended up in the hospital for two days trying to figure this out. Nothing was helping me. Laura's information changed my whole life because when I actually stopped listening to what others were telling me and I listened to Laura and I did the test that she suggested and I worked through her protocol patiently. Not only did I see things leave my body, like physically see them, so no, it's not pseudoscience. I saw them leave my body. They, they are gone, they're out to sea now. But my blood sugar normalized, my weight went back to normal, everything went back to Normal. Everything normalized after that. So I was a huge believer. And then many of you have heard this story before, but I started shouting from the rooftops about this. Need to look at parasites.
Yeah. I mean, so many of our listeners right now are suffering from this and don't realize it. And the symptoms are not necessarily digestive in nature. As Natalie just explained, she had high blood sugars. But for some people, it's an unrelenting fatigue. For some people, it's brain fogginess. For some people, it's skin irritations and rashes and acne and psoriasis and dermatitis and all these irritations of the skin that nobody can seem to figure out and get rid of. For some people, you know, it's joint pain. For some people, it's just this underlying feeling of no matter what I do, I can't get. Well, sure, there's digestive symptoms for some people, but some people never have a single digestive symptom.
Which I had none.
I had. You know what?
Actually, that's not true. I would say I have none. There is one thing I did have, and I would sometimes, after meals, sometimes have a bloated feeling and. But again, I just put it in the hormone bucket, like, oh, it's gotta be hormones. That was the only thing. But no stomach pains.
Yeah. I find that a lot of people blame hormones, blame their thyroid, blame their adrenals, and there's underlying something deeper going on. All of those things are very important to work on. Hugely important. You should get your thyroid checked, you should get your hormones checked. You should work with somebody to support cortisol levels. Right. Or adrenal. But usually there's some underlying thing going on that's making all of that go.
Haywire, which I had, which we'll get into. But let's first get into some of the nitty gritty about parasites. I want to ask you, like, just some hardcore facts here, like how many people actually have parasites?
Like everybody.
Like everybody.
Well, the World Health Organization estimates smaller than everybody. They estimate around one in four people. Last time I read some of their data. I think that's an underestimation because it's just what's reported. I think there's a lot that's not reported. I would go out on a limb and say at least 50% of people have parasites. And we know that parasites are also an answer to a toxin problem in our body. And we do live in a very toxic world and we're full of toxins. We can get into that, too. Yeah.
I want to know, I want to understand that because that's what was happening to me. It was an answer to a massive toxin. Two of them that I was exposed to. What does that mean? Can you explain that? Because I think a lot of people don't get that. They're like, oh, well, I use non toxic shampoo, I'm fine. What does that mean?
There's a lot of buckets of toxins that we're exposed to. I mean, we're exposed to toxins in our water, our air, our food, our food containers. Like even if you're buying organic food, a lot of time it's packaged in something that's toxic. We're exposed to toxins in our hygiene products like our shampoo, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, makeup. I mean, the average woman puts on hundreds of chemicals per day with everything that we do. And so these toxins are really assaulting us in a way that we aren't equipped to deal with. Our, our body wasn't made to deal with all these man made toxins. And one of the crazy things is that your immune system will actually allow parasites to live inside of you to soak up toxins. Because parasites are like toxin sponges. So, you know, we always have somebody that'll make a comment or say something like, well, my parasites are helping me. Why would I want to get rid of them? Yes, they're soaking up toxins, but they're also creating a lot of problems. They're creating nutrient deficiencies, they're creating symptoms, they're setting you for inflammation and chronic disease. So we've got to knock down populations of parasites and the toxins kind of in a simultaneous, really targeted way. And this is what I think. Sorry, I just want to say when I mentioned when we first started here that there's a lot of people out there now online talking about parasites and parasite cleanses and this and that, but they're not really paying attention to the toxic load that people have in their bodies and helping lower that at the same time, which is what we built into your protocols. We helped you lower toxins while we got parasites out so that as you moved those parasites down, you didn't get sick. All right, I got a lot of.
Questions now coming up from what you just said. Number one, the first, I know some of you listening think that I've got two camps listeners right now. I already know. I can already see their faces. Okay, I either have the. Yes, they're talking about parasites. This is so good. And I have the what in the world are you talking about? This is ridiculous. I. It's two camps. There's no in between. There's literally two camps. I was in the what in the world are you talking about? And I thought, unless you're in an undeveloped country or you've been, whatever, you're eating dirty food, like whatever. That was what my mind went to, and I was completely wrong on that. So first I want to ask you about that and then I've got a whole list of questions right now. But where are they actually coming from before they're helping our bodies or we think.
Yeah, the parasites are coming from everywhere. We're literally eating them in produce and meat. So vegetarians are not safe. I mean, we all hear about parasites in sushi or parasites in undercooked pork or beef, but guess what? There's parasites in watercress and, you know, vegetables and produce grown in water, which.
I think my kind were, by the way. Mine were like the ones that come from one. One was from walking barefoot, I think, and the other one came from organic lettuce, I think.
I know people are thinking, what do you mean, walking barefoot? So, yes, a parasite can liter meat, enter through your skin right there, burrow in and make its way to your bloodstream.
We're talking on the grass, not walking barefoot at 7:11. Like walking on the grass barefoot.
Yeah. We want you outside, walking, grounding, like doing these healthy things. But if you are in a place where an animal pooped out. Parasite. The animal pooped. Parasites were in the poop. It's there in the, in the soil, in the dirt now. And you walk there and pick up those larvae, it's going to go into your body. I mean, it's nuts, right? So people here now are thinking, I'm never rocking barefoot again.
By the way. Laura eats sushi, walks barefoot, all that. So we're gonna. We're gonna talk about that. Yeah. So they come from everywhere. So they come.
Well, let's finish talking about where they come from too. They come from our pets. Dogs, cats. They come from human contact, from sharing utensils, kissing, having sex. All of these things. Like your partners have parasites, your kids have parasites. Yuck.
They're everywhere. We can't escape them. They're everywhere.
Back in the day, our immune systems could handle it, but we eat more. It's overwhelming. So.
So that's interesting. Okay, so me and someone else could have had the same salad, for example, gotten the same parasite infection, one of us, our bodies eliminate, gets rid of it, and the other One, the parasite thrives in there. Why is that toxic load toxic? So you just said that the average woman uses Hundreds of toxics, 100 chemicals. But it could be other things, too. So how are parasites thriving with toxic load? Explain that.
So your immune system, you think of your immune system of being a control center, a command center. Your immune system is either sending out an army of white blood cells to go kill a bacteria, a fungus, a parasite, or it's pulling back because it's surveying the landscape and saying, okay, she's got heavy metals, she's got mercury from all that, you know, tuna that she eats and those amalgam fillings in her mouth. And she's got uranium from the water and she's got this BPA that's, she's, you know, everybody's got bpa. When we run tests on people, we see this like crazy. So anyways, insert name of glyphosate, pesticides, herbicides, whatever it is. So immune system is surveying the landscape, your body, and saying, okay, I'm actually not going to send out killer cells to go kill those parasites over there because those parasites are going to soak up toxins. Those parasites are actually going to help solve some of this and get those toxins off my brain, off my heart, off my liver, off my vital organs so that I can continue to function. So it's this balance of your immune system is very smart. Your body is very smart. And if those parasites or bacteria or fungus, I mean, we could, we could talk about so many different microbes and infections in the body. Sometimes your body allows it to be there to solve a more. A bigger threat. The bigger threat being those heavy metals that could damage your brain.
Wow.
Or those dogs that are going to downgrade your liver from working properly or whatever.
This took me many times of you explaining this for me to fully understand it. And then I experienced it my own body. But what I understand now is these parasites almost work like a mop in your body. So your body says, okay, let's negotiate. We don't want you here, but you're going to help solve a more toxic, a bigger problem by staying around. So we don't like you, but you can stay and be our mop. That's basically what it's doing at a high price.
Right? Because those parasites create their own problems. But the problems the parasites create are generally not going to kill you like the toxins will.
So, like, in my experience, I was eating super crazy healthy, but I didn't understand why I was still having this blood sugar dysregulation or why I was so tired, or why I was foggy headed. And what I understand now is because the parasites eat first. So the parasites are skimming your nutrients off the top. You eat, takes the good nutrients, it leaves you with whatever. So you're surviving, you're just not thriving. Is that right?
Exactly. A great example is iron deficiency. There's, you know, so many people have some sort of anemia that's being traced back to, well, you're iron deficient, your ferritin level is low, your iron is low. And then you go through a GI workup to find out, well, there's no place in the GI tract where I'm losing blood, I'm not bleeding. That's the first thing your doctor will check for. Well, I guess that's just you. You would just tend to have low iron and then come to find out, oh, you actually have parasites that are soaking up your IR iron and taking it from you before your body can utilize it. That's just an example. So yes, nutrient deficiencies are one of the things that parasite infections create, which then affects our brain function, our energy, our cellular function, our thyroid, our hormones, our adrenals. All of these things that we want to work properly are being affected by nutrient deficiencies which are being driven by potentially parasites.
Now some of you listening are probably thinking, was, is, okay, great, what if I have them, do I just yank them out, like get them out of me as fast I as as possible? Which is what my brain did was like get them out as fast as possible. But that's actually not the number one way to eliminate them. Because if you just yank them out, what would happen?
Yeah, so if you just yank them out, you're going to get sick. You're going to feel what we call a Herxheimer reaction, a die off reaction. Kind of feels like you're coming down with the flu, like you got hit with a bus. Everything aches, you got diarrhea, you got a headache, maybe you've got chills and you experience that. And then you decide in that moment, I'm never taking that supplement or herb or protocol ever again. Because that just made me feel worse than when I started. So there are steps that need to happen prior to parasite cleansing so that you don't actually make yourself feel worse or harm yourself.
So if you yank them out, aside from the Herxheimer reaction, which makes sense, are you also going to be loading your body up with the other toxins? So like for instance, if you've got heavy metals or you've got mold or whatever it is, do you now, if you don't have this parasites there, does your body also get flooded with that?
Exactly. And as you kill parasites, if you don't, if you aren't properly eliminating them and drawing them out, as you kill them, you, like you said, they're like a mop, like a sponge, they're full of toxins. Guess what? All those toxins get recirculated back into the body. So that's the heavy metals, the mold, mycotoxins, the environmental toxins, the herbicides, the pesticides, all the stuff that they were storing just gets recirculated back in. And then you also, if you kill them too fast, too hard without also supporting your detox pathways like you just mentioned, what's your body, body going to do when these toxins keep coming in and you get overwhelmed? It's.
Why are so many and not all, but why are so many traditional allopathic doctors, like, blind to this? Or they don't want to talk about it, or they're like, what is that?
It's not taught in medical school. So I spent 20 years in the conventional medicine arena and didn't know any of this. Right? So we're taught to diagnose a problem, prescribe a medication for it. We don't talk much about lifestyle. We certainly don't talk about, much about toxins. We didn't. There was no toxin module in my training. I think now it can't be ignored. If you just go to pubmed and you type in, you know, toxins and gut health, toxins and heart health, toxins and lung health, toxins and, you know, brain health. It cannot, it can no longer be ignored. And I do believe that western medicine or conventional medicine is coming around to the idea that, oh, we live in a toxic world. Maybe that's related to why people have diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, you know, all these chronic serious inflammatory diseases.
I think a lot of autoimmune too could be coming from this.
Oh yes, absolutely, absolutely. So it's. But it just wasn't taught historically.
So when we see all these marketing things for this parasite cleanse or just do that, what are we putting ourselves at risk for with that?
Well, number one, a lot of wasted time, effort and money because you're not going to get the results you hoped for if you don't know what's happening in your body to begin with. And we can talk about, how do we know what's happening in your body and what do we need to look for. Yeah, support you. But first off, I mean, most people don't want to waste their time, money, effort to actually try to cleanse this. And then that other piece of if you don't prep the body properly, you might feel sicker while you're doing this. And actually, people throw their hands up and they say, well, I'm never doing that again.
Which is what you said you navigated when you first started working with patients. Right.
I didn't know this in the early years of my functional medicine practice. And I made people sick by cleansing them too fast without the support. Support that they needed to.
Actually, I see so many health coaches doing that, like literally just selling the parasite cleanse or whatever. And I'm thinking there's so much more to it than that.
I know. And people ask me all the time, you know, when they reach out to me on, online, or can you just give me the parasite cleanse? It's like that would we need to do some evaluation of your body to figure out how you'll be successful with a cleanse?
Is that the same thing when sometimes people like, just take ivermectin? Would that be a similar situation?
I mean, ivermectin is great for an acute parasite infection. If you are acutely ill with diarrhea, you've been infected with something before, the parasites are behind biofilms before the parasites have migrated to every spot in your body. Ivermectin is amazing. But don't be fooled. Unless you're ready to take ivermectin for months and months and months, and also take biofilm breakers and help move your drainage pathways. Ivermectin is not the be all, end all, but it will help you feel better for sure.
So it's probably so it makes sense to me, like you could do an ivermectin if you know you have an actual infection, like came back from somewhere and you're like, this is that. Or maybe you've already done an entire protocol with you and now it's something. Would that make a difference then? Like if you've done your. A protocol, like an actual correct protocol, or still would that not be a solution?
It may be. And you know, there are people, for example, that live in countries where, where parasites are a constant, daily epidemic. Right. It's the environment. And so people take their ivermectin every single week to. Wow.
Every week.
Every week. Yeah. A lot of African countries do this. They recommend, like, take your ivermectin every week. I Mean, it is literally like the safest drug on the planet, but it's.
Like a, it's a dewormer. That's what it is. Yeah, that's what they take. So just taking it one time is not going to basically fix a problem here.
Yeah. If you are here in a developed country and you have developed any of those cluster of mystery symptoms that we're talking about, low energy, brain fog, skin issues, joint pain, you know, a myriad of digestive issues, then it's going to take a little bit more than a prescription drug to support this. You may feel temporarily, but over the long run you probably are going to jump right back to where you were.
Makes total sense here. Okay, so we talked about not doing generic cleanses or just the cleanse that somebody told you to do. We talked about not just relying on a prescription. What is the best way to manage this?
Well, first we need to know what's happening in your gut microbiome. So it's a first and foremost. And people will say, well, why do I need to know that? Because parasites can live anywhere in your body. But I want you to remember that 90% of your immune system lives in your gut. And I just explained to you that your immune system is surveying the environment of your body and deciding, am I going to throw out killer cells to kill these parasites or am I going to pull back and allow them to be there? So we have got to address gut health first and foremost. There's a lot of reasons why we want to know what's happening with your digestion. Can you even break down your food to get the nutrients to the body to heal itself? Do you have other co infections that could be holding you back? For example, do you have fungus? Do you have overgrowth of bacteria? Do you have a gluten sensitivity, for example? We can see that on the gut test that we run. We look not for celiac disease, different tests, but we look for your body's reaction to gluten, which is a big one. If you are constantly inflamed and reacting to that, it's going to be very difficult to clear. We can find so much information on a gut test to see, to set you up, to win, to be able to actually allow your immune system to do its job.
Okay, makes sense. So if I'm hearing you correctly, understand what's going on in your whole gut biome first. That is because what I said at the beginning of this episode was that we're going to look at the number one way. There's lots of ways to remove parasites, but it's not going to be a long term solution, and you might feel sick doing it. So the number one way to set you up to win for this for good is to do a test to understand what's going on with your personal gut biome and then know how to. But one thing you said that you didn't say on this interview right now, but you said to me many times, is we're going to gently ease them out, we're going to make them unwelcome, we're going to evict them slowly. Can you explain what you mean by that?
Right. So if you just go at this hard and fast without supporting the gut, without bringing the immune system on board with, okay, I want to get these things out of me. Right? Your immune system has another agenda. What your brain is saying is not necessarily what your immune system is going to allow you to do. So if you evict too quickly, you can drop your energy, feel sick, feel worse. Herxheimer. Just full rebellion inside your body, like, not prepared for that. You can even gain weight if you do it too quickly. People all the time are like, why did I gain weight on a parasite cleanse? Because you went so hard so fast that now your body is diluting. It's holding on water to support your body from all those toxins that have been wow.
Because otherwise you're gonna get flooded with the metals and everything.
Why did I gain 10 pounds on a parasite clean sense. Because you did it too hard, too fast without supporting your gut, supporting your drainage pathways first, and actually giving yourself the, you know, setting yourself up to win. Natalie, it's so easy. It's like you would never try to put the roof on a house before raising the walls, right? I mean, if you just think about, there's steps, there is a blueprint to doing this properly. Just like building a house, You've got to put the structure in place to be able to hold the weight of the roof. We've got to put structure in place to be able to hold the weight of a parasite. Clamp.
Makes total sense to me. Okay, so what we want to do is understand our own bodies, what our own gut biome is doing, what's happening there. So we know not just how to ease them out slowly and not yank them out, but so we can repair and rebuild and not have this happen again. I'll share in my case because I did a lot of deep work with Laura and I followed her whole protocol. She said, after I felt so much better getting them out she's like, we need to figure out what was feeding them, what was creating, because we understood what's going on. My gut, we could see all the issues with my gut. And by the way, no matter how healthy you think you are, until you actually do a gut test, you don't know. Like, I had massively. He got. I would have never known that how. I would have never in a million years thought I had leaky gut. And I did. And I probably had it for years.
You were so surprised because you do everything right.
So it doesn't matter if we think we're doing all the things right. I also learned after removing them that I had a lot of things feeding them. I had a ruptured implant, a ruptured silicone implant. I had gel nails, which I no longer wear. Which by the way, if you all are wearing gel nails, they are loaded with hema, all kinds of toxins. They're getting. They're getting in our bodies. So gel nails. I had definitely bpa, even though I don't drink out of plastic bottles. Doesn't matter. It's literally everywhere. And we learned we were living in black mold. And I also had. I still had three amalgam fillings in my mouth. So that's a whole bunch of Gen X midlifer woman toxin stuff. And that's not even to mention, you know, and I thought I was doing all the right products. All the things. Doesn't matter. All those things were toxin. So I had to address all that too. So they didn't come back.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So what's the question? What do you want me to address here?
So what I want to know is when people start looking at this and their gut health and their. All of this, what do you advise them doing about toxic load in the meantime? Like, do you have any advice around that? Should they be cleaning this up? Should they. Where do they need to be looking?
So this is what sets our parasite protocols aside for most out there, is we are gently supporting removing toxins as we parasite cleanse. It's happening simultaneously. And we do this by supporting your natural organs of detoxification. So that is your bowels. You need to be pooping every day. Mission critical. Number one thing, if you're not pooping every day. We talk a lot about poop. We gotta do that.
And not little pellets.
Not little pellets like.
She told me. It has to be. Did you say elbow to wrist?
Elbow, elbow to wrist. Not wit. Just add it all up. Doesn't have to come out so it.
Could be like this, but it has to be long.
Yes. And it doesn't have to come out all in one sitting. You can go multiple times a day. Kind of like visualize. Oh yeah, that looks like it. It's about a foot and a half long.
Can you say the average person has like 7 pounds or something like that?
7 to 10 pounds of picked up old stool in their bowels. Yeah, I know, it's crazy, right? We want to support these organs of detoxification. That includes your lymphatic system, it includes your fascia, it includes your kidneys, your liver, your lungs. Everything should be actually funneling towards your bowels and away from your skin. If you've got toxins coming out your skin, that's not good. So toxins coming out the skin manifest as rapid aging, as flares and irritations. Dermatitis, pimples, acne, all of these things can be a sign that you've got toxins coming out the skin. We want to funnel it out the bowels. All toxins should go direction. So this is how we do this, is we gently support these pathways in the body and we do this with herbs, with supplements and herbs. And as we do that, we layer.
Based on what your current gut is. So it's not. This is not like just everybody take these herbs. You got to look at what going on with your gut.
Right. We want to know what's happening in your gut because we want to know, do you need pancreatic enzymes? Like, do you even produce enough? Do you have a problem going on in your stomach with H. Pylori, where perhaps you have a low hydrochloric acid like all of these, Which I did.
By the way too. That was another wonderful gift I had.
Correct. All of these things are important for successfully eliminating parasites and then opening those drainage pathways. And the interesting thing is when we start opening that up, people feel the best that they have in years. And actually we find out that people have normalized their symptoms. They think that this is normal. This is my new normal. This, you know, slump of energy at 2 in the afternoon. Like that's it. I got to get everything done by 2pm yeah, I'm no good after that. Or that second wind of energy that people get around 9 o' clock at night. You're supposed to be winding down and going to sleep and then bing, you're awake and you want to keep doing stuff that's not normal. Yeah, Be doing that. I mean, so many people realize, oh, I'm sleeping better, I've got Energy that lasts all day. My brain's working, my skin's clearing up, my hair's growing, my nails are growing. Like things that I had taken for granted that I. That used to be normal when I was younger. I thought it was a normal part of aging. It doesn't have to be.
By the way, Laura is still a fan of cleaning up your diet, working out, optimizing your hormones, checking your thyroid. But she looks at things as an order of operation. Could you explain what that means?
Yeah. So it is really important I work with a hormone doctor myself. It's. And I recommend that my community works with hormone doctors and that my community makes sure their thyroid is in check. Check. But the order of operations is to go deeper than the organ dysfunction. So a hormone system dysfunction, a thyroid dysfunction, an adrenal dysfunction. There's something under that. And underneath that is often infections like parasites, fungus, bacteria in toxins, which we've spent a lot of time talking about nutrient deficiencies and also stress and trauma. So those things are the first place we look to help supporting people to, to build on top of, you know, all these other systems in the body that you want to correct. So if you didn't do any of the things I just recommended looking at and all you did was test your hormones, your thyroid, and then take a prescription or a supplement for that, you're missing building that foundation. So you're literally putting the roof on before you actually raise the walls. And that it doesn't work, it sets you up for constant failure and frustration because that prescription or that thing you're getting might work for a little while and then you get it tweaked again or increased.
Well, I know you all have more questions, so I'm going to tell you how you can learn more and have your questions answered by the Gut Genie herself, which I named her that, by the way, because that's so fitting for you. You are the Gut Genie. If you go to midlifeconversations.com forward/gut midlifeconversations dot com forward slash gut and I'm going to put a link below too. We're going to do. We've done this before. It is super fun. You want to be part of the party? We're going to do a live get together over zoom. We do a live interactive workshop where she's going to go a lot deeper on where we're getting the parasites from. Like, where are they coming in, what they can actually create in our body if we don't address them correctly, how to test and Address them correctly. And then she's going to be answering all of your questions. Like, actual, real time. Answer your questions. It is a totally free workshop. You just have to save your spot. We do a special together when. When we do this. This is, gosh, how. We've done this probably five times. This is like our fifth time doing it. But you'll have both of us together. I'm not teaching. I'm going to be on there helping to moderate. But she'll be teaching and going deep here. But this class is totally free for you if you go to midlifeconversations.com forward slash, gut. Just have to save your spot. But final words, Lauren, on why they need to look at this and address it. Because I know a lot of people are ignoring it. Like, a lot. I know me, I was scared to see things come out. I was like, I don't want to see anything leave my body. What do you tell people that? Say that?
Well, you don't have to actually look. You can just flush. It's.
That's right.
You can have to go digging around.
You don't have to take a picture and dig.
You don't. You don't. But I think the final thing I would say is if you've been scratching your head trying to figure out, why do I feel the way I do? Why is midlife not as amazing as I thought it would be? How come my energy's low? How come my brain doesn't feel good? Why do I have these weird digestive symptoms? How come I can't eat this anymore? How come my skin is not clear? Like, why do I have acne at 50? Like, what the heck's happening? And you've been down the path of, oh, I just have to fix my thyroid or I just have to fix my metabolism.
Right?
Metabolism is a huge one. Everybody to wants to fix their metabol. So I would say dig one layer deeper. Go one layer deeper to solve underneath. And you will be so amazed at how all of these things that stack up on top get better. Right? Get better. So don't give up. There's hope. And you probably are just literally one gut test away from figuring this.
So good. Thank you so much, Laura. Thank you for being here today again. Thank you.
