136. Embracing the Be Do Have Mindset

Natalie Jill explains the be-do-have model: embody the person you want to become first, then take actions aligned with that identity to achieve your goals. It's about mindset before results.
Welcome to Fit for your Mind Friday, where I share an insight from me to you. If you don't have what you want in any area of your life, this may be why. When I have this, I'll be this. Do you think this thought things like, when I have that flat belly, I'll be, I don't know, happy. When I have more time, I will be fulfilled. When I have more money, I'll be able to take those trips. When I have the result, I will be insert whatever word you want. Or when I have that husband, I'll finally be whatever that word is. When I have my business at this number, I'll actually be a success. Or when I have that client, I will be complete. Now, what if your way of thinking this way is why you actually don't have it yet? And what if that way of thinking will not ever support you being whatever it is that you want? Now, stay with me here. Maybe you're working backwards. Now, what if you took on starting from where you want to be? What does that mean? What that would mean is being first, then doing and then having. Now, I did not invent the be do have model. Many have taught this before me. But I do practice living this way. So how do you do this? Well, you get in the frame of what I call forcing the vision. Now, how do you force the vision? Well, you create a space for peace and time to think. I know, I know. You might be thinking right now. Well, I don't have time for that now. This doesn't take long. You can do it in the shower if you need to. You could do it while taking a bath, while going for a walk, even while driving. Just turn off the radio or the podcast. But create some space for peace and time to actually think. It can be lying down, walking, driving. That part doesn't matter. But I want you to imagine that you already have what it is that you're waiting for. What does that feel like? To be the person that has that? How do you spend your time as the person that has that? And as that person, what are the actions that you take? Like what do you eat? What do you drink? What do you listen to? What do you read? What are your hobbies? As that person, what choices and decisions does that person make? And as that person, who do you learn from? Who do you spend time with? Who do you study? Who do you listen to? You. Follow me here. See, we tend to operate so much from the unknown. Like, when I get this, I will be here. And that doesn't work that method does not work. When we can flip it and think about who we want to be and who we need to be, that's when the results start happening. So here's the part you get to commit to. Go about your day, your week, your month as that person. As that person you want to be. Make decisions and choices from that place. Ask yourself every single day, what would that person decide? Create and think. Ask yourself, who do I need to be today? If your brain is giving you reasons why you can't do this, then you won't. So decide to stop being that type of person that does that. If that's you, repeat this assignment a million times. If you have to listen to this podcast over and over again. This is supposed to be uncomfortable. This is supposed to challenge you. Decide to do it anyways. Now let go of your stories and feelings around it because you are not too old and it is not too late. You can constantly change. You could become an entirely different person by changing your thoughts and actions. And let's start with this. Embrace the be. Do have.
