148: This Is Why Your Product or Service Isn't Selling

Two entrepreneurs break down why products fail to sell. They argue most founders skip the basics: understanding their actual problem, who really needs it, and whether their solution actually works before spending money on marketing.
Welcome to Fit for your Mind Friday, where I share an insight from me to you. If you're listening to this podcast, you likely have your own brand or product.
Or service or your own business.
Or maybe it's something you want to get into. And I just think, just a hunch, if you're listening to my podcast and here's what I want to share with you today. If your product or service is not.
Selling, it may be because you're asking yourself the wrong questions.
You see, a lot of times we go into business or start selling a product because it's something we like. It's something that we think would do.
Well, but we haven't really asked those deep questions.
So here's what I want you to do. If your product or service is not.
Selling, I want you to start by asking yourself these five questions.
These are critical.
Number one, is the product, is the.
Problem your product or service solving an actual, real problem? Or is it just something that you think could be a problem? See, this is key. Sometimes we think that there's a problem out there, but we haven't actually polled people. We don't actually know that it's a real problem. So question number one is, is the problem your product or service solves an actual real problem? Or is it just something that you think could be a problem?
Second question, who will your product actually help?
Who is this person or company?
Get super clear as to who they are.
It's called an avatar. That person that your product is going.
To help, who are they? What do they look like?
What's their age? Where do they live? What are their problems that they want solved? Where do they hang out? Get super clear on who they are.
The third question, ask yourself why?
Why would your product help them? Why is your product or service the answer? Get super clear on that.
So many people skip this step, and.
That'S why businesses don't work.
The fourth question, does your product or.
Service actually fix the problem?
If you don't know, ask yourself, well.
What would the result be if the person implemented this solution? So when you're clear with your avatar.
Asking yourself, if they implemented this solution.
Would it fix things for them? And the final question is, how will your product or service help them? How will your methodology work? Get really clear on how that works and how that fixes the problem. You see, just because you like your product or service, it doesn't mean others will. So spend the time on those questions.
Before investing another minute or dollar on.
Logos and websites and graphics and mission statements and marketing messages and copywriting and Facebook ads and oh my gosh, I can go on and on and on. All of that is busy work and.
Added expenses, and they're unnecessary if you do not have solid answers to the above five questions.
