166: See Things How You Want Them, Not As They Are

A talk on using visualization to reshape how you see yourself and your circumstances. The speaker argues that perception shapes reality more than most people realize, and walks through a client's shift from seeing her body as broken to seeing it as capable.
Welcome to Fit for your Mind Friday where I share an insight from me to you see things first, how you want them to be, not how they currently are. You see, everything is created as a vision first. Everything. Your physique, your wellness, your business, relationships, finances, lifestyle, comfort, things, even things that we want, they're all first created as a vision or an idea by someone. When you choose to see things first, how you want them, and you get crystal clear on that focus, that is what you end up creating. Now, if you know the story of the statue of David, maybe you do, maybe you don't, but just a quick, you know, cliff note version of it. The statue of David was created, by the way, by somebody, the artist chipping away at everything. That was not David. That artist, he saw David first in the midst of everything else. That was not David. He didn't focus on what was missing or lack or what was broken there. He focused on what he saw, that vision of David. But Danielle, I get it. It's hard. And I get more than I've actually shared with you that it's hard to focus on the vision because we tend to focus on what's broken. We focus on flaws, we focus on lack, we focus on what we hate, we focus on broken beliefs and we focus on what we don't like about ourselves. It's common. And when you focus on lack and those things we don't like, we get more of that always. But we can shift that. We can shift and focus on what it is that we want. Recently, one of my private VIP clients, I do a. A handful of select clients every quarter that want help with their health and wellness, nutrition, all the things. And one of my clients recently asked me, she said, hey, you know, I'm, I'm working on everything, but how do I stop seeing these arms that I hate in the mirror? She had a thing where she'd wake up and look in the mirror and see her arms and she would hate them. She said, how do I stop? And I said, you start seeing what you want to see and you focus on that. How do you do that? You do that with gratitude. What your arms can do for you. You start closing your eyes and visualizing what your strong arms will look like. And you force yourself to force that vision and see that. So my message for you all today is see things as you want to see them, see them as you want to force that vision. And then the results will reflect.
