Welcome to Fit for your Mind Friday where I share an insight from me to you. Wow. I just calculated recently that if you watch the news or scroll social media an average of three hours a day, which by the way, that's average, that is 84 hours a month in a 28 day month. That means you're basically training your brain subconsciously. 84 hours a month. Whoa. Why am I sharing this right now? Well, because fear seems to be so heavy with so many people right now. We see it everywhere. And gosh, fear can turn into anxiety, isolation, depression, and worse. What I want to ask you right now is, are you surrendering daily right now to possibility and, and living your highest potential, or are you surrendering to fear right now? If you answered fear, I have another question for you. Is that fear because of what's happening to you and all around us and what's happening in the world? Or is it possibly because of the story that you're deciding about it and how you're interpreting and perceiving things? I pose that question because, you see, we can't change others and we most certainly cannot control the world. But we always can control what we decide, what we take in, how we spend our time, and how we interpret what we're taking in. Us humans, we can't outsmart a virus. It's just not possible. Virus has been here since the beginning of time. But we can get ourselves in the healthiest place possible, mentally and physically. Because when we do that, we're better equipped to handle whatever comes our way. So how do you do this? Because it's certainly not just about what we're eating and what we're doing with our bodies. It's not just about exercise and food. It's truly about managing our stress and what we're taking in. It's managing our fear. It's finding a new place of surrender and peace. What would you have to lose with that? Nothing. Because you'd have everything to gain. Your peace, your life, even some normalcy. Again, why do I share this? Because I want you to turn off the news. Stop scrolling social media looking for what's scary. Stop looking to validate fears, stop fighting with people on social media threads. Last I checked, it doesn't change anyone's opinion. Stop judging people for not being in fear the way you might be. And stop opening links from well meaning friends that are texting you and spreading you more fear. Now stay informed and stay in control of what and how much you are taking in reading and listening to. But stop creating that bubble of fear. If you're spending even three hours a day in this idea of what's wrong in the world, that's 21 hours a week, 84 hours a month that you are teaching yourself fear. Do not train your subconscious that way. Instead, ask yourself, what else can you be doing with your time to become a better version of you? With those extra 84 hours a month, what hobby could you master? What skill could you learn? What business could you start when you change the way you look at things? The things you look at change, Sam.
