219: Fit For You Friday: It Is Not Too Late For Your Goals

A motivational talk about ditching the belief that you're too old or too late to chase your goals. The speaker tackles the mental blocks holding you back from health, business, relationships, and learning new skills.
Foreign Friday where I share an insight from me to you. When it comes to your goals, you are not too old and it does not have to be harder as you age. And it is definitely not too late. Not for anything. Not for fat loss, not for health, not for making more money, not for starting a new business, not for finding that soulmate, not for any goal that you're after. So stop saying I'm too old and it's too late. Because here is what's happening and why goals tend to feel like they're harder and why you sometimes think it is too late. 1. You stop progressing. Yep, you just stopped. You stopped learning new material, you stopped trying. You stopped gathering different information, you stopped learning other insights around it. You flat out stopped progressing. Take a look at that goal and are you progressing and learning more? Learning more knowledge, more skill set to get you closer to it? The second thing that might be happening is you believe that aging is a certain way. You're creating a self imposed stop and it doesn't have to be that either. Find role models that are your age or older that are making your goals happen and make that the new norm. Find people that are in your situation or your age group that are winning. There are so many people that have started a new path in their 40s, their 50s, and well beyond all because they believe that they could. So find evidence of those people. The third thing that might be happening is you believe what your doctor, your friend, your coach, or the article that you read told you, or worse, the media. And it's become what I call a false assumed truth. And that something that you've bought into because whatever you believe, you're going to start creating. So if you believe something is harder or you've passed the time on it or it's too late, you're going to keep creating that. The next thing that's happening is there's negative validation everywhere. It's true friends media telling us that something is too late for us or that aging is bad. So just stop it. Clearly just stop it. Find the right supportive mentors, coaches and groups, but do not look for validation of why you can't achieve something. Find validation and proof of actually the opposite. The next thing that's happening is you gave up too easily because of a self and post op, you see, you're believing something's harder, you're believing it's more difficult to learn that new skill or take that new action or take that risk. And so it becomes harder. If you believe something is going to be harder, it will be. You see, you are not too old and it is not too late. So I see your potential and I want you to see your potential. So try this on. Because you have nothing to lose except those old beliefs that are not certain serving you. I'm not going to validate those beliefs for you because they're not going to make you better. So start that business, lose that weight, write that book. Create that relationship, earn that income and learn that skill.
