5 Minute Cardio Burn Workout | Natalie Jill

This is a YouTube video titled "5 Minute Cardio Burn Workout | Natalie Jill" featuring a conversation between Natalie Jill and Shelly Pelley recorded in December 2010. The video presents a fitness session where they demonstrate quick, high-intensity cardio exercises such as jump squats, lateral skiers, burpees, and mountain climbers designed to be done in five minutes for an effective workout.
Hi, everyone.
Welcome back to the Five Minute Burn. I'm Natalie Jill.
And I'm Shelly Pelley.
And today we're talking about cardio. Cardio that you can do in limited time. Five minutes is all you really need to do that anaerobic hardcore cardio to help you work on your longer cardio. So we're going to demonstrate some plyos today, some quick cardio bursts that you can do in a minute or less. Shelly.
First one, jump squats, dry squats. Jump squats. So what you're going to do is you're going to stand with your feet width apart. Okay. I'll turn this side so you can see. You're going to give a slight bend and you're going to put your arms down and you're going to jump and put your arms over your head and down. Jump, squat, jump squat. And I'm really pushing back into my heels so that I can really feel my glutes. Right. You can do these as fast or slow as you need. And as I'm going down, I'm really squishing and I'm really getting burn on my quads and in my glutes. And my heart rate's getting up as well.
Probably want to do before you train legs, too.
Yeah, exactly, exactly.
And then the next one, the other one that you showed me, I love that side to side one that you.
Were doing, the laterals. So these are lateral skiers. Get a little out of breath. Lateral skiers. You're going to stand, feet together and you're going to jump from side to side, side to side.
These are really good.
I'll shake.
And the point, you're saying you're out of breath, but that's the point, right? These short bursts should be a minute out of breath.
So arms over your head and again, squat with your legs together. Squat, squat. Now I really feel these. I'm really getting winded. And it's really getting my heart rate up.
I can hear it as you can tell. Right?
Okay. So third one I want to do are called burpees. A lot of you are familiar with this. I'm going to do them slowly first and then kick it up. So down, out, in, up, down, out, in, up. Faster. And jumping at the top. These are good. Push up position, engaging your core at the bottom. These are really good exercises.
One thing that I do and then Chili, I'm pretty sure you do this too, is because you do get so winded in between each exerc is I might alternate these with weights that I'M doing. So I'm doing one weight exercise and then I'm going to a cardio back and forth. That way you get that minute of recovery.
Exactly. So finally the last one I want to show you are called mountain climbers. So on the floor push up position and you're going to alternate taking your feet in and out. Right? These are really good. You're going to tap your toe at the top of the exercise. My arms are extended, my back is straight and I'm just continuing. Okay. I'm engaging my core, my abs are flexed. I'm getting a good cardio workout.
I'm just watching you.
Yeah, me too. Three, two, one.
I like how I made you do all the work today.
That was nice.
That's smart.
Thank you. That's what runs are for anyways.
Thanks guys. That was our quick 5 minute run for this week. See you next time.
Bye.
