5 Minute Shoulder Workout with your own bodyweight | Natalie Jill

Natalie Jill and Shelly Pelley run through five minutes of bodyweight shoulder exercises to build definition and balance your hips. They demonstrate proper form and explain each move as you go.
Hi, everyone. Welcome back to the Five Minute Burn. I'm Natalie Jill.
And I'm Shelly Pelley.
And today we're doing shoulders because shoulders help balance out your hips and give you that nice V taper. So we're going to start with Shelly showing us two of her favorite shoulder exercises.
Let's go. Okay, you guys, I'm going to show you a couple of my favorite shoulder exercises. Now, today I'm using lighter weights than I would at the gym. I'm using five pound weights. If I was at the gym, I would be using anywhere from 10 to 12 for my shoulders. So do what feels comfortable to you. The first one is standing with your feet together. You're going to bend at the knee, and I'll turn to the side so that you can see with your butt slightly out. You're going to bend slightly over like an ironing board. And you're going to just lift your shoulders, keeping your hands, your. The tops of your hands facing the sky. Okay? And this is going to get your shoulders and a little bit of your back as well. So I like to do 15 to 20 of these three sets. Now, if you can do 15 to 20 of these very easily, your weight is too late, too light, so you should be fatiguing around 15 to 20 reps and three sets of these. Okay? Okay. So the second exercise that I want to show you are shoulder presses. And again, I'm using lighter weights today, but use weights that are heavy enough that when you get to 15 to 20 reps, you're easily fatiguing. Okay, Feet together, your legs and knees slightly bent. I'm going to pull my weights up by my ears. I'm simply going to press. I do doubles. Single, single, double, single, single, double. And you can also turn your palms towards you. Single, single, double. Let me show you from the side. And again, 15 to 20 reps, three sets each of these. Okay. That's going to give you a nice, good, defined shoulder, which of course, always looks good in a sundress, and it evens out your hips.
So my favorite shoulder workout that I always start out with is upright rows and bringing them forward. It's a very, very simple exercise, but it just gets those shoulders warmed up. I like to do a lot of reps with these. Notice I'm using a very, very lightweight. I'm going to go for about 20 of these. This will work the front of your shoulder and the top of it. So for my second exercise, I'm going to go with a standard lateral raise. For these, I go a little bit heavier. So anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds. Standing with my feet shoulder width apart and just bringing my arms up to the side, not going any higher than my shoulders with these, really concentrating on these. And this will really, really work my deltoids. One thing that's really important to keep in mind when you're doing shoulders is to make sure that your posture is accurate. So I want you to watch Shelly with her movements. Her shoulders are directly in line with her back as she's doing movements. What I see a lot of people doing is they're a little bit too far forward like that, and that's not the proper way to work your shoulders.
Okay, you guys, so that's it for shoulders today. And like we said, good shoulders mean that it balances your hips, that it gives you that V taper, and it makes you look hot.
Makes your waist look tiny. Yes.
