Hi guys. Natalie, Jill here. Welcome back to Happy, Healthy and Fit. Today I'm answering the question, can you get fit using just your own body weight? And the answer is yes, you can. You can absolutely get as fit as you want using your own body weight. Now let me explain. You could do a lot of exercises that you would think of ordinarily on the floor, using a wall to do things to increase your own body weight. But keep in mind the way you can get really intense with your own body weight is by doing things that are still your own body weight, but it's using some things that help with assistance. For example, pull ups and chin ups. Love pull ups and chin ups. They are extremely challenging. And every time someone tells me, oh, there's no way to get really strong back or arms with your own body weight, they're not doing pull ups and chin ups because those are hard, they challenge your body and they change your body. Now there's lots of ways to do these. You can progress. You can have your feet up on something to help with assistance. But just using a bar and working towards a chin up or a pull up is an incredible bodyweight exercise that will help to change your body. Also think of push ups and plank based moves. Those are using just your own body weight, very challenging. They help develop the core, the chest, your arms. Awesome for your own body weight. Also dips. Thinking about dips, you can do those for beginners on the floor. You can use a corner and make it higher. Just because you're using equipment doesn't mean it's not your own body weight. When I say body weight, it just means you're not adding, you're not adding any machines or weights to the move. But using some functional equipment like a pull up bar or a bench or a dip bar is still challenging with your own body weight. You can also do all kinds of plyos with your own body weight. Jumps, anything that moves your body using your own body weights and can be challenging for you. So if you're watching this thinking, well, I get that and I would love to do my own body weight, but I'm not ready to do a pull up or a chin up or a push up or a plank, that's fine because it's all about where you're starting from and making it more challenging for you. And there's lots of floor based exercises or even just using a wall or household stuff you can still do with your own body weight to get in the best shape of your life. You can still do that. Now for a complete workout. If you want a complete bodyweight workout program, make sure you check out my Rev4 DVD. Because I've got all kinds best bodyweight exercises for you. Anyone can do them.
