This is a YouTube video titled "Fat burning in midlife is NOT as “easy” as it once was" containing a monologue or talk focused on fat burning strategies during midlife, emphasizing muscle building and different types of cardio exercises. The speaker explains aerobic and anaerobic cardio and their effects on metabolism and muscle growth. The content is educational and fitness-related, created in July 2022.
Let's talk about fat burning, especially in midlife. So I've already spoken with you about how we need to build muscle. Because the more muscle we have, the more fat we burn at rest, the more calories we burn at rest. And the more muscle we have, the leaner we're going to be. And muscle takes up less space and fat. However, a lot of times when we look at fat burning, we automatically go to cardio. You think I have to go longer on the cardio? I've got to sweat more on the cardio. There's two different types of cardio. One is aerobic and the other is anaerobic. Aerobic is with air. Me explain. Anaerobic means without air, meaning you get winded in short spurts of time. And then you bring your heart rate back down. So heart rate goes up, you get a little winded, you catch your breath again. You do spurts of that throughout your workout. I'm winded right now working out with my friend Bri. We just did some anaerobic. And when you do that in short spurts, I'm talking 20, 30, maybe 45 second spurts. You up your fat burning for the day, your metabolism jumps up and speeds up for the day. And your you help yourself build muscle quicker doing those exercises, which changes.
