Hi, guys. Welcome back to Natalie Squared TV where we teach you how to build your brand online, how to monetize it and how to have fun. You gotta have fun. How to have fun growing your brand online. I'm Natalie Jill, this is Natalie Min. And we're ready to square off today.
So today's topic is are there any tricks to growing your social media?
Love that one. Tricks to just the question.
Yeah.
Are there tricks to growing social media?
Because everyone wants the quick fix. It's the magic bullet, right? Yes, yes.
I think that's such a funny question because that's like saying, are there any tricks to weight loss? Are there any tricks to weight loss? Depends who you ask. Are they trying to sell something? What's their goal?
Yeah, sure.
Because really there is no tricks to anything other than hard work and working towards something. So when it comes to social media comes back to what's your goal? If your goal is just to get a massive number and not have buyers, not have real people, not have interaction, sure there's tricks. You could go pay, you could have a number, come on. However, is that going to work for you, for your goal? Because if you actually want people to be interacting with you, ultimately buying from you and wanting to be part of what you're building, then you really can't trick that. That is going to come the same way. Anything that grows comes. And that's from sharing relevant content, putting information out there that people want to like share and tell others about, period.
Yeah. Have a conversation with your social media that creates followers, interest and growth.
Yeah. Because Trix is just such a funny world that you're implying you're tricking somebody into it.
And I'm trapped them just like lock them into a box and never get out of my email opt in ever.
That's happened to all of us. I mean, how do you feel when you've been, you're like, I never opted in for this or I want to.
Trick you, but you do not want to be tricked. So this is gonna be a balance of efforts here because those people are.
Never gonna be your customer and they're never gonna buy anyway. So the trickery thing, it doesn't matter. So it always comes back to what is your goal? So I'm going to have to answer that with a no. There is no tricks if you want to build a real social media platform. However, there are strategies that you can use and strategies are key. And by strategies I mean can you be consistent and share relevant information? So be consistent, Share relevant information. That is interesting. To people and pay attention to your audience. Are people being attractive to what you share? Are they resharing it? Are they liking it? Are they commenting? Engage your audience, ask them questions. Not a trick question, but ask them real questions. Hey, I'm taking some pictures of recipes for you guys today. What would you like to see? Ask them so you have something to share that's relative, that's interesting and that they're gonna wanna tell others about. That's key. And then a big one that people miss. And it's again not a trick, it's just a smart strategy is can you link your social media to other places? So if you have a presence on one social media, can you tell them about your other social media?
We were just talking about this.
Yeah, linking things together and have that help you grow. So it's not tricks, it's strategies using strategies. Smart strategies.
Absolutely.
The way you would anything you're trying to grow.
I mean we see this with, we were just recently having a discussion about people who are big on YouTube, right. Who have really big channels. If you go and start looking for them on other platforms, other like maybe it's Pinterest, maybe it's Instagram or Facebook, you're most likely going to see a very big following chasing them as well over there on those locations. Yeah, I think that's really an interesting aspect because like at some point they felt like they were having a conversation with you by watching you on the YouTube and then they're chasing you for a more interactive experience where they can have a more one to one platform with you.
Sure, right, I agree. And on that same note, the more real you can be with people, the more you're sharing real things that fit your brand and match your personality and that are good information that is going to help to grow you naturally. And that's what you want. You want to attract people that like your stuff. It's not a trick. It's not a trick number. I always think it's funny when someone jumps in a comment thread on my social media and they'll say, hey, shout out my page. Who are you? Why do people want to follow you?
Why did you come to my party? I don't know who you are.
Share good information and people will be drawn to you. So there's really no trick. It's being real, being consistent, sharing important information that people are going to be interested in, being consistent and being able to be searched and found. And that's really all there is to it. I think people overthink it. They think they have to plot out a whole big way. So strategy is different than trick. I like the word strategy.
Strategy is great.
