Natalie Jill clarifies why muscle doesn't weigh more than fat, it's denser and takes up less space. More muscle means a faster metabolism and a smaller frame at the same weight.
Foreign. Let's talk muscle versus fat. Five pounds of muscle and five pounds of fat both weigh five pounds. When you put them on the scale, you weigh them both, they're both each 5 pounds. The difference is the 5 pounds of fat takes up a lot more space than 5 pounds of muscle. Muscle is a lot more dense. Fat is a lot less dense. So what happens is, when we just rely on a scale number, when we just rely on what is the weight, we're not determining is it fat or is it muscle? When you build more muscle, when you have more muscle, one, you burn more calories at rest, speed up your metabolism, and you'll look a lot leaner because this is a lot more dense than the five pounds of fat.
