Natalie Jill talks about fitness for people over 40, emphasizing progression and intensity matched to your current ability rather than your past self or anyone else.
This is for you. If you're in midlife and you're in comparison mode, about the workouts that you used to do. Like you remember years ago, you were able to do these intense, crazy things, and you can't do them now because maybe just because of age or you just haven't done them in a while or because you're recovering from injury. This is what I want you to know. You don't have to do crazy, intense workouts to change your body. You don't. What you do have to do is move your body and create progression and intensity for you. What does that mean? That means challenging yourself a little bit more, making it a little bit more hard for you each time you do the workout. For example, let's say you love to walk just by going faster one day or doing more hills. That is adding progression. If you are doing light weights and you're lifting them by adding extra reps and going a little bit heavier, that's progression. And then let's talk about intensity. Intensity means you're challenging yourself. You're getting your heart rate up. You're making it intense for you. It's not about comparing to others. When we constantly go back to comparing what we used to do or what we see somebody else doing, we set ourselves up for failure. What I want you to focus on is.
