Natalie Jill demonstrates three bodyweight exercises to tone your glutes. The workout uses no equipment and includes detailed instructions for each move, plus a quick note on nutrition to support your results.
Hi, guys. Natalie, Jill here. Welcome back to Happy, Healthy and Fit. Today we're doing three bodyweight moves to work your butt. And this is the thing I get a lot of questions about. How do I work my butt if I don't have a gym, if I don't have heavy weights, if I don't like machines? I'm going to tell you that you don't have to use machines, you don't have to use heavy weights. You can still get a great workout with your own body weight. I'm going to show you three exercises today. All you need is a place to do the work, your own body water and a towel nearby, and we're going to get started. You ready? We're going to start with a variation of a lunge. It's going to be a back and a curtsy. So watch me. First, I'm going to take it back, I'm going to tap down, and I'm going to take it over to a curtsy. Are you ready to try this with me? All right, you can put your arms out here by your side. Whatever is comfortable for you. Ready? I'm going to take it back tap. I'm going to curtsy over. Ready? Back, tap, curtsy over. Nice. Tap. One more like this and I'm going to change this one up. Back, tap, curtsy. Now, listening to here. You want to hold it here, and I want you to pulse it to your low, low, low. This one is when you're really going to start to feel it burn. You can do a lot of them. Whatever you feel here, just pulsing it here, you want a little bit more. You can repeat that same sequence. Taking it back, tap, curtsy it over and then pulse it. Nice. I'm going to switch it over to the other leg. You can keep doing as many as you want on each leg. You just want to feel it and make it intense for you. We're going to even it out. Now taking it to the other leg. Base leg, planted. Take the other leg. Back, tap, curtsy it over. Nice. Back, tap, curtsy it. Jab. Back, tap, curtsy it. Now let's hold it here. Change it up. Little pulses, really working it. Filling it in that glute. If you wanted to add weights, you could. You could hold them down by the side. You'll feel it even more, but you don't need them. You can use just your own body weight. Nice job. Shake it out. All right, going to the next move, we're going to do a mini squat down and a side step, side to side. Now, to make these more challenging, you can use a band which you would tie around lower part of your legs. Or you can use your own body weight. Just concentrate it. So watch me. First, we're going to take it down to a mini squat here. We're going to pulse our legs out. And tap. And over. Here we go. Ready? Join me now. Out. Tap over. Lower you go. The more you're going to feel this in those glutes. Get low, get low. If you need to vary this, make it easier, you can always come up higher. You still feel it a little bit. To really work those glutes, you want to get low, low. Nice. Stay with me here. A few more. One more each side. Nice. Shake it out. Good job, everyone. Go on to the last move. Take it down to the ground on our forearms and our knees. Bring it down here, bring it here. And we're going to take it to a donkey kick. One leg at a time. Baseline planet. Lift the other leg up. Ready? And you're going to push up and back. Down, up, down. You want to imagine you're pushing up a ceiling and it's heavy. Creating that resistance in your mind and translating that to your muscle. Up. Push. Little movement. Really working those glutes. Hamstring working the butt. Nice. Push up. Not a swinging motion, a little pushing up. Donkey kicks going. Last two. Nice job. Switching legs. Ready? Take it up and up. Now you can make these super easy and just swing them. And that's not what's going to help you. So you want to really concentrate. Imagining this is heavy. Using that glute, using that hamstring to push it on up. Nice job. Few more here. Last two. Good. Good job, everyone. We're building booties today. Building butts. Three exercises I showed you using your own body weight. You can do them anywhere. Let me know how you feel. Comment below.
