The content is a solo presentation focused on health and nutrition.
Hi, I'm Natalie. Jill with your nutrition tip. Let's talk about juicing. Juicing is the number one thing I suggest adding to everyone's regimen. And the reason why is you're taking a lot of fruits and vegetables, you're going to get the best parts of it and you're going to drink it in a juice. You're getting all these great nutrients, all these great vitamins in a drink. So let me show you what I do. I always start with a base, so I use either celery or cucumber. I want a watery vegetable and that's the first ingredient I'm going to put in my juicer. And then I go to the meat of it, the bulk. And I like to use dark leafy vegetables such as spinach. Kale is another great one. That's the meaty part that I'm going to put in with the water based vegetable. And then I personally like to add fruit or some vegetables with a lot of flavor like carrots. So I typically will add some apples, some carrots, some strawberries to my juice. Makes it taste really great. And then the thing I always do because juice, you want it to last a little bit longer is I like to add some type of citrus. And grapefruit is my absolute favorite. So juice is phenomenal. I'm going to show you how it's done right now. So one thing you want to look for in a juicer is you want something that's not loud and that you want something that's very easy to clean. A lot of people buy a juicer and they end up not juicing because they think it's so loud and difficult to clean. What I like to use is a masticating juicer. And the reason is it's really easy to put together, very simple to put together, very simple to clean. And as you'll hear, it's going to be very, very quiet. If you want to learn more about this Omega juicer, you can look at the link below. A lot of people ask how juicing your own fruits and vegetables is different than buying a ready made juice at the store. Well, let me explain this. I'm using two apples in my juice and I'm going to get a lot of nutrients from that because I'm combining it with other fruits and vegetables. If I were to buy a container of apple juice at the store, you're looking at using eight to ten apples just in that one apple juice drink. Now I'm ready to move my fruits and vegetables into the juicer. And what I want you to notice here again with the masticating juicer, is how quiet it actually is compared to those loud other types of juicers that sound like an airplane taking off. This one's very quiet and what it's going to do is actually grind the fruits and vegetables through a process to squeeze out the best parts of it. So go ahead and take a listen to what this sounds like. A lot quieter than other juicers. So I'm going to start with my water based vegetables. So sometimes when it gets a little stopped up, that's when I use things like carrots. The harder vegetables will help actually clean things up and mash it down a lot quicker. That's my little trick with that. So all of that made about 40 ounces of juice it up. Cheers.
