Mark Roberge, VP of Sales at HubSpot, credits Aaron Ross's Predictable Revenue with shaping his approach to building a scalable sales operation. He found the book a year into his own strategy and valued Ross's hands-on experience and practical storytelling over theory.
Hey Mark. Hey Aaron, hi, I'm Mark Roberge, VP of Sales at HubSpot. And what are we talking about today?
Today we're talking about Predictable Revenue, a book that has been somewhat of a Bible to me in building a sales team. It's funny, I spoke today about my mission as a sales executive, which I defined 4 years ago, and it was to build a predictable, scalable revenue channel. And it was a year after that that I discovered all of Aaron's teachings and the early workings of this book. So it was comforting to know that a really smart person was thinking in the same way. A lot of his points really resonated with some of the things that I was thinking about and extended and gave me a lot of new ideas on how I could increase the predictability of my own job.
Yeah. What's one thing or one reason why you think someone would want to get the book or why they should get it? And I'm going to say give it a 5-star review.
Definitely do that, and I will. I think what's unique about Aaron and his book here is you don't find a lot of authors that they're writing from their experience in the trenches. You know, Aaron's a super smart guy that could probably figure out a lot of things and dug into this really specific problem. It's a great story about someone who took a big step back from a career-wise to go into a very non-traditional area for a smart MBA. And to, to think through and live through the way he thought about these complicated problems and approach them in a different way to create a huge success. That's unique from a book and author's perspective, and I really appreciate those types of stories.
All right, Michael, thanks, and thanks for your support. I really appreciate it, and also the work you're doing with HubSpot.
