3 mistakes NOT to make on Linkedin

Olga and a co-host break down three mistakes people make on LinkedIn while job searching: unclear messaging, neglecting your profile, and poor follow-up timing. They cover how to craft intentional outreach and strategic networking to land opportunities.
So the three mistakes that professionals make when they are using LinkedIn as part of their job search is everything that Olga said. But in addition, when they reach out to their former colleagues and supervisors, they make the mistake to say, hi, how are you? Can you help me get a job at your company? That is a mistake, number one, because that is not their problem that you're looking for a job. You need to be intentional in your messaging to say something that will encourage them to speak to you. And that's where Olga and her expertise can really help in crafting those messages and reaching out to those people.
First thing is LinkedIn profile. Obviously it should be, it's kind of your resume on LinkedIn. Like it should be powerful enough to answer the question like who you are, like what are you looking for? Let's say like short representation, powerful headline, great profile picture that really indicates that you're a true professional. So sometimes people may skip the banner, let's say, or skip the pro qualified headline or even not sharing enough story in there about and missing some things missing collecting testimonials from their colleagues or clients they've been working with. And that's a mistake. So they have to really make an input here on their LinkedIn profile and make it powerful enough so to represent themselves. Because it's basically the like minute representation. When you request to connect with somebody, somebody may check your profile and like, like 100, let's say 1 second, 2 seconds to estimate whether you're a fit or not. So basically it starts with LinkedIn profile.
The second mistake that people make on LinkedIn is they're not timely. They will reach out to the right people, but then they will not follow up and those messages will sit in their inboxes. This is where Olga and her expertise can really help because she has developed automation strategies that can help you stay on top of your messages while you're sleeping so you actually will have people showing up on your calendar. You don't have to follow up. We work together with Olga to craft messages so that people will get back to you in timely map in a timely fashion.
Another thing I would say is being active, not meaning like posting that much, but still from time to time and commenting, reposting, liking. It's also kind of networking and you have to be proactive here too.
And the third mistake that people make is they just reach out looking for something from their connections and they're reaching out to everybody. They don't have a strategy. The mistake that People make on LinkedIn is just reaching out to every company that looks interesting and the way to correct that mistake is to actually have a target list of companies that you know that you can share your expertise with them. They hire people like you and you need to put target companies on your radar. Focus on 30 to 50, not like 500.
The third thing is the outreach, of course, reaching out to professionals who might be a fit. Like whether you're looking for business opportunities or just to network, try to be a part of any kind of communities on LinkedIn, professional communities or searching for like minded professionals. And even if you're not looking to start conversations or something, but just like try to network saying, hey, we may have some mutual interests, let's just talk and yeah, maybe it will bring you somewhere. Or of course, if we're talking about job search here, we have to have strategy. And so you have to really create a powerful message what to say to that decision maker you're reaching out to. So depends on the case, but these are the three winning components, I would say.
