How to get more recruiters to contact you on Linkedin

Mel got contacted by Pacifico, a Japan-based company hiring for Dallas to build an AI data center power plant for Meta. After revamping her LinkedIn profile, she's seeing more recruiter outreach, though many don't respond. She uses a "JEWEL" document to track and manage recruiter messages.
Questions this video answers
Pacifico
Japan
Setting up a power plant for an AI data center (role requires turbine experience).
Meta
Two weeks before this conversation (Mel: 'I spoke to the HR lady two weeks ago').
I got a few leads. One was that Pacifico. I mean we, we had a lot of chat on that one with Pacifico. I think the, the interview with the, with HR went well. I mean, I, I use your framework that rose during that interview and in the end he, she said that she will get me in touch with their director. Right. The head of their projects. So it's actually like a small company that, you know, they're still trying to build their presence here in the US and so they're hiring somebody to be in, in, in Dallas and so that's why they have approached me. But it's a thought, it's a, it's a different project. It's like setting up a power plant for their AI data center.
Okay, so hold on one second. I have a couple of questions. How did they get in touch with you? They contacted you on LinkedIn because of the new profile?
Yes, that's right through LinkedIn.
Great. So I think that that may be worthwhile exploring just to get over to Dallas. How big is, how big is the company?
I cannot find how really big it is, but it's based in Japan and they just started during the pandemic and they want to build here and explore here in the US So they have a good contract with Meta to build that power plant. So what they were looking actually is somebody who has experience with gas, gas turbines. And I just told them that, you know, my experience is in geothermal, which is a steam turbine, and I could transfer those skills to this role.
When did you talk to the HR lady?
So I spoke to the HR lady two weeks ago, you know, when I messaged you. So we had a chat on that one and then she promised me to get in touch with, with their director. And so I follow up with her again last week and she said that, yes, you know, she's still trying to hook me up with the director, but the director is currently on, on leave in Morocco. So when he comes back then he will arrange for the interview. So I think that's what I want to touch with you is, you know, to prepare me for the interview.
Very good. Okay.
And at the same time, actually I also received a lot of requests for resumes and some of the recruiters were, you know, they sent me, you know, if they could call me, I give them their number and they never came back again. I sent a follow up message, but no, no reply. Okay, we'll just move on.
Okay. So number one, recruiters. So what I hear from you is that ever since I redid your LinkedIn profile. The activity went up. Did you, did you put the professional photo? Let me see a new photo.
Yes, I did.
Okay, wait. I can't wait to see it. Hold on one second. Great job, Mel. Now look like senior director.
And at the same time actually Michelle, I mean, I think there were some scams also going on in Lincoln. Yeah.
Yes, there are. Yeah. So you have to be careful. Okay, so this is what we're going to talk about. First of all, your profile is fantastic. So not surprised that you're getting a lot more activity. And you. Let me just look quickly. Shell, you did everything. Excellent. Okay. When recruiters call you, you're going to put them through Jewel system. When a recruiter messages you on LinkedIn, first thing you do is you create a document that's called Jewel. J E W E L.
