How to Neo Network in Linkedin

The video is an instructional talk on intentional LinkedIn networking: how to target companies/industries, craft short initial and follow-up connection messages, and time outreach (immediate thank-you, 1-week follow-up, 2-week polite reminder then stop). It emphasizes rapport-building (no immediate asks), focusing scrolling time on LinkedIn rather than other platforms, and prioritizing interactions aligned with target companies.
Invite two weeks ago. Would really love to chat with you one day. See that we both went to be you. Here's my calendar link in case you have a few hours available on a Friday afternoon. Okay. You leave that for two weeks. In two weeks, again you say, hey Leslie, I hope you are having a good holiday. Just wanted to reach back out to see if we can connect and see if there's some synergies. Not sure if you know what I do. I've attached my one pager to familiarize you with what I do or if there's anybody else that you know that needs my expertise. Now after that one, we're going to drop it. Do you see that whole journey? But the companies, the target companies that you establish is what's guiding you. And you're very intentional. And when you look at the investment of time, I always, when I get new clients, I always tell them, I always ask them. And Sarah, I asked you this, how many hours do you spend on the boards? People spend hours, three, four hours. They're constantly on their phone. So I always ask, how long do you spend on the job boards? Let's just take that time and move it to LinkedIn to intentional Neo networking. People spend time on Instagram, people spend time on Facebook. If people are looking for a job, you should not be looking at that stuff. The time that you have to scroll, use the time to scroll on LinkedIn list. The number one effective thing is a school, a group or the industry. Say I've been in Engineering for 15 years. It's great to be connected with you. Message number one, very short and to the point, but showing them that you took the time to say something and it's not like just an automatic ad, a connection. So Leslie sends me an invite. I look at him, I like his tagline. I accept the minute, I accept within a day, he sends me. Michelle, thank you so much for accepting. I really look forward to being in touch with you or being part of your network. That's it. No, I need a job. No, I need you to look at my resume. No, I saw a res, a job posted at NFL. Can you help me? None of that. Focus on establishing rapport. Whether you're in a face to face event or you're in a virtual event or in a virtual communication. So first message, very plain. Second message, maybe a week after you're going to ask me how do I keep up with all of these. You keep up because you have your target companies. If someone sends you a note from mba, you accept. If someone sends me a note from Citibank. You don't want to go into finance, you accept it, but you don't spend the time communicating.
