This is a YouTube video titled "How to win on Linkedin" containing a discussion between two speakers about strategies for effective networking on LinkedIn, including optimizing profiles, targeting the right contacts, and building confidence in outreach. The conversation focuses on practical advice for job seekers to improve their LinkedIn presence and networking approach.
So once your assets were fixed, you had a powerful resume, you had a powerful story, how you could introduce yourself to People, and your LinkedIn profile was optimized. Tell me a little bit about some of the things that you started doing on LinkedIn and how you started reaching out to people that you wanted to connect with.
Yeah, I think, you know, just having a map almost of here's who you should be networking with. I think for me, the eye opening part was, you know, I typically went to, well, who's the VP of marketing? Who's someone that's a level up or two levels up for me, not here's where you need to go as far as getting a real decision maker in the process. So I think I just looked at how should I network and who should I network with very differently than what I originally was doing. And I just had more confidence because my story was more succinct because I knew, you know, through your program, offer help, don't ask for help. It just made me feel all right. The worst they can say is, no, I don't want your help. And that's much more of a acceptable answer for my ego than we're not interested in talking to you or we don't have a job for you. So I think even that it made it less intimidating.
