Jacqui Getz, a former NYC public school educator, shares how Michelle Perchuk coached her into a new career in styling and sustainable fashion. Michelle provided practical advice, support, and accountability through the transition.
Hi, my name is Jackie Getz. Before I met Michelle, I was a New York City public school educator for 36 years, a teacher, a consultant, and a school leader. I needed Michelle to help me define my next steps. I knew that I wanted to go into styling and closet editing. I had just gone back after retirement to grad school and got a master's in sustainable fashion. I found Michelle online, and I said, what do I do now? And she helped me define my steps, made a timeline for me, helped me manifest what my career could look like, gave me very concrete pointers, creating business cards to, you know, contacting a lawyer to make my business legitimate, how to network. She was incredibly practical and got me going, helped me make a name for my company, had me make a vision board to think about it. It was terrific. She helped me create something, essentially. I highly recommend Michelle if you're in a transitional period of your life. She really helped me understand my transitional skills, what I was taking from one career to the other. She was inspiring. She was incredibly supportive, a cheerleader, and very honest and direct. Really held me to my promises, gave me more tasks to do, checked in on me, was always available. She was a. You know, I. I adored every time I met with her.
