Pre-Interview & Post Interview Ritual

This is a YouTube video titled "Pre-Interview & Post Interview Ritual" created in March 2024, featuring Michelle Perchuk delivering a detailed monologue on the importance of pre-interview and post-interview rituals to boost confidence and improve interview outcomes. The content is a solo talk focused on practical advice for job candidates.
When you're interviewing, it is extremely important to be reminded that you need to have a pre interview ritual and a post interview ritual. Let me explain what I mean by that. A pre interview ritual allows you to create an energy and a frequency that will exude confidence. If you have a problem doing that, and if you're self doubting yourself right up until the moment that the interview starts, guess what? The interview will not go well. That's why it's my job to tell you how you can pivot in that moment when you're freaking out and you're anxious how the interview will go. Instead of spending energy on that. Here is a pre interview ritual that you could implement right away and you will see all the changes. Number one, pick your favorite inspirational music. I'm an 80s baby, so I love Mariah Carey, I love the Pointer Sisters, and I love the soundtrack from Flashdance. So if you want to dance around in your office to Flashdance, go ahead. That's going to make you feel good about yourself. That's going to get you up from your chair. You, you'll be moving, you'll be excited, and all the positive neutrons are going to be going off in your mind. So guess what will happen on the interview. You will show up energetic and you will definitely start that interview feeling good about yourself. Another pre interview ritual to practice that's very effective for my clients is to go back into your journals, your gratitudes and your affirmations. Place the place where you listed all of the things that you're proud about in your career, all of the things that you're proud about in your life, all the things that you have achieved up until this point. If you go through reading all the terrific things that you have accomplished in your professional life and you're in everyday life, you will interview as a different person than if you're just sitting there being anxious. You will exude confidence and you will have reviewed all the great things that you accomplished in your career. So a great pre interview ritual is to go back into your journals and to read about all the things that you have accomplished up until this point. And the third pre interview ritual is, and I can share this with you if you're interested. I have developed a color chart of all the lucky colors that you wear on the day of your interview. It may sound a little out there, but you know what, I'm trying it out like today's Friday. It's light blue. I'm wearing light blue. But you know what, if you put yourself in that zone that you're going to do great because you're wearing the color that you're supposed to wear during the week. You're going to show up differently, you're going to create a different frequency. And the person who's interviewing you, the hiring manager who sees you on zoom, or hears you on the phone or even in person is going to pick that up. So all of these things are different methods that I have been using with my clients to help them establish a pre interview ritual where they have a moment to stand as a superhero and change the trajectory of how the interview will go. Now, if there's a pre, there's a post. So a post interview ritual is also extremely important because sometimes you will not do well in the interview. Sometimes the interview will go flat or the hiring manager will tell you, oh, we have 50 other people that we need to interview. The idea is to look at the interview as not a place where you got rejected or now it's like a what if. Looking at the interview as an opportunity to learn something about yourself. So every time you're done with an interview, take 10 to 15 minutes to jot down how you think you did. Did you have an opportunity to ask all the questions that you wanted to ask? Did you have the opportunity to really craft the story and tell them about yourself the way that you wanted to tell that story? Did you ask the two magic questions that I teach my clients to ask after the interview is done? So the post interview ritual is extremely important because many of you keep bombing at the interviews over and over and over again. And that is my job to help you improve your chances of getting invited for that second round or that third round or getting the offer. So I hope that my little tutorial on pre interview ritual and post interview ritual is going to help you try it out. Get in touch with me, let me know how it's working for you. Good luck.
