The goal here is to provide your client with an insane amount of value while scaling your time.
It's so interesting because I hear a lot of people say, well, I just don't know how you do it without the safety of a paycheck. And I found the most safety is when I'm writing my own paycheck.
It must be nice. Is that conditioning from childhood, from what situation brings you to a place of saying it must be nice? And when did we stop supporting people? There's this opportunity to actually live your life to the fullest rather than trying wanting to hide.
Welcome back to the yes and podcast. I am your host and business therapist and I brought a friend today that you do not want to miss out on. So in the spirit of the yes and podcast, being able to have that lifestyle where you can have your cake and you can eat it too, I brought in a subject matter expert on all things high ticket offers and building a business that supports a lifestyle and a luxury lifestyle to be able to do the things that you want to do. And she's a mama, so we're going to talk about all of those things. But to welcome her to the podcast officially, welcome Ms. Christine Schwartz.
Thank you so much, Bunny. I'm so excited to be here.
Yeah. Wasn't that better than reading the bio?
Oh, it's amazing. I love it. Pressure's off.
Yeah. So one of the things that you and I have in common that we've vibed about is this aspect that around high ticket offers and also around building a business that delivers high outcomes for our clients. So a little bit about your background in business because I know that you had a quote unquote career prior to stepping into this. And similar to me, you've also started several companies. So just give us a little bit of the behind the scenes.
Sure, yeah. Thank you so much. So I am a corporate dropout. I was laid off in 2019. It was the worst at the time thing that had ever happened to me in my career. And now it is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my career.
Career.
But that being said, so I launched Reinvent your Hustle probably about a couple weeks right after I left corporate. And I didn't really know exactly what that would look like or what it would turn into, but it, it really evolved as time went on, as everyone and most business owners see. And I started out with a course and I started out working with new business owners niching in getting clear on their business model and what they were doing and, and it quickly Evolved. Once I realized that I was sick of launching and I was sick of the three month model of, of having to find new clients every three months. And so I built a mastermind and I realized, oh my goodness, there's so much more to this model that I can help other women figure out and like move further, faster. And so that's where I jumped into teaching people how to build High ticket, I call them superpower offers. And I just kind of went with my intuition. I was like, I love to travel, so how do I do retreats? And I'm going to build that into a mastermind model. So now I, I lead retreats for women. And then of course I was like, oh, well, this new sh. Object, I want to build meditation boxes for entrepreneurs while I'm pregnant and have a newborn. And so I did that too. And so it's been this awesome evolution and it's been really, really amazing to be able to do, you know, be a multi passionate and do lots of different things. So that's a little bit about my journey.
I still can't wait to get one of your meditation boxes. I'm hoping before Malibu is born that I will be able to steal one of those. So. And I love that you created it while creating a human. And I mean, that's truly like, yes. And it wasn't either or it wasn't like, after I have the baby, after the baby is, you know, six months after the baby is in school, then I will build this next company. And it sounds like you've really figured out a way that works for you where it's aligned, where you can do both. And so I know that starts somewhat with a mindset. And so what is it that you told yourself where you decided that no, you didn't have to wait and have either or.
Yeah, I think you can have it. All right. The kicker is, is you have to be really mindful, like, what's your money maker? And make sure not to stray too far away from that. I think the other thing is when you're starting something you're testing, so many people jump in two feet first and they're like, this is what I'm doing. And it's like, it's okay to keep one foot in this area and another foot in the other and test into it. And actually, any massive company would tell you that they test into new strategies. They don't just jump headfirst into investing millions of dollars into a new strategy. Right. They test the waters, they test their audience, they test the market. So what I would say is like, first of all, if you're thinking about doing something and it lights you up and it gets you so excited and, and yes. And don't wait, just do it. Because it's going to lead to new experiences, new people, new things and you're going to learn and it's your new growth edge. And if it doesn't work out, okay, you tried something and becomes part of your story.
I love that. And ultimately for me, I think my failures have made me tremendously more valuable along the way, especially to clients where it's like, hey, you don't have to. I literally just had this conversation this morning. I'm like, part of my job is to make sure that you don't fail as flamingly hard as I did and share that experience. And I do want to talk about the high ticket offers and some misnomers around there because that's something that we're. I'm literally doing a masterclass tomorrow on doubling your rates and why that is not the enemy that people think it is. And so I want to jump into that in a second. But one of the things that as a corporate dropout I've noticed a lot of clients struggle with is LinkedIn is this identity around. So I want to go there with you, like, this identity of like, okay, now I'm going to change my LinkedIn. It's going to announce to my 5,000 connections that I'm no longer with this company and now I'm doing this entrepreneur thing. Did you struggle with any of that?
I struggled with Facebook, I think more than LinkedIn. I did wait on LinkedIn and I'm still not that heavy on it right now. But it's, it's an identity shift and people are going to judge you or you feel like the whole world is watching. You feel like every single step you make, somebody's watching. You're going to get judged. How do I project myself as an expert when I was in corporate for this long? Or like, who am I to be a business coach? Well, shit, if I looked at my experience, I mean, I have an MBA and mam. I have two master's degrees. I don't need to go to school to be a coach. I went to school, I went to grad school and I went to undergrad as well. And I have experience in the marketplace. So I think, I think we allow all too often other people to dictate how we feel about being public about our identity, when in reality we need to look internally at what we need and what we Want, and that's where imposter syndrome comes from, is like the scroll and looking at what other people are doing and buying into the social concept that people are going to judge us and if we're not perfect, if we don't do everything right, it's not good enough. And oh my goodness, you're not even in the same industry anymore. Like, move on, move on. Because that part of your life didn't serve you. It obviously didn't serve me as much as it, my life now serves me. So I think, I think that we have to look at it and flip our mindset a little bit, flip the script and that you're trying and doing something new. That takes courage. And so many people like don't even do it. They, they don't do it. They're scared. They have so much fear that overwhelms them that they don't take that leap. So yeah, it's intimidating switching stuff up or like even switching your niche. I remember when I was like, thought I had to focus on products so much right after corporate and I'm like, wait, I don't want to do that. I want to work for service based entrepreneurs. And I thought everybody was watching when I switched over my niche and my messaging on my Instagram profile and like nobody cared at all. I was like, oh, I think I need to chill out. I'm really not that big of a deal. And I thought I was this huge deal, but I'm really not as big of a deal as I thought I was. You know, I love that.
I absolutely love that. And I mean, I've said that to clients like you. And I have a very similar direct feedback to clients where I'm like, nobody cares. Like, you know, all the people that you think are watching like to wait for you to fail, they're not your people anyway.
Exactly.
And how many people from corporate that are wannabe dropouts like, are stuck in corporate and want to see you succeed and want to see that you're not just finding another corporate job, but that you started your own thing. Like, you know how many people in corporate are sitting there on their dreams like waiting for the permission to go after it.
Oh my gosh. And watching you. And honestly, any of that negativity that you're feeling is probably jealousy in their own fear and their own regret or they're watching because they're excited for you. Like, you don't know. We don't need to make assumptions about whether or not they support you. It's just your own intimidation factor. That's affecting your ability to move forward.
Yeah. I love that you, like, you found permission in the layoff.
Well, it was traumatizing.
Thank you for being honest about that.
I decided I'm never gonna let someone else do that to me again. You know, if I'm gonna bet on anything, I'm gonna bet on myself.
Yes.
That's what Beyonce says.
You know, that's something that. It's so interesting because I hear a lot of people say, well, I just don't know how you do it without the safety of a paycheck. And I found the most safety is when I'm writing my own paycheck.
Amen.
I'm guaranteeing my own paycheck. You know, like, that's. It's just something. I feel like we need to make an Instagram quote around that.
Absolutely. It's. It's. If, like I said, I have the ability. If I wanted to do a cash injection right now, I could go out and do it. If I wanted to launch another retreat right now, I could. Like, I have. I get to define what tasks and activities I get to create my day. When I get to take off. I mean, look at you, Bunny, like your trout. You were on a cruise last week, and you're launching a masterclass. Like, you get to decide how you live your life. If I was in corporate, I would have that stressed out feeling that someone's watching me, that I'm being judged. Like, is my Internet connection going to be okay? No. Instead, you get to, like, broadcast that you're on a freaking cruise and look at me and look at what I'm doing. Like, there's this opportunity to actually live your life to the fullest rather than trying to h. I'm done hiding. Like, done.
It's just. It's changed everything, I guess, for my family. And I. I want to know, like, if the perspective has shifted for you too, of, like. We took the cruise last week, a month into my daughter's school year, you know, and it was like this. They. We wanted to do this Halloween Disney cruise. Obviously, that doesn't happen during the summer. And so we were super intentional about it. And then it was funny because, you know, my husband's like, I gotta look at my pto. He luckily is in a position that he can take, you know, leave without pay. And to be able to not have our lives determined by the school year. Yeah. Like, they need to do their work and catch up and, you know, keep their grades at a certain point. And my husband obviously needs to fulfill his Job duties, et cetera. But I think the biggest learning for me has been in the aspect of not allowing external boundaries or making up external boundaries, not making life more difficult on myself than I need to be. Like, if this is a priority, if taking this cruise was a priority, then it's in an alignment for our family, and that's in alignment with taking the kids out of school. And I also love being able to teach them, like, December 7th last year, which is Pearl Harbor Day. We were at Pearl Harbor. Yeah, she missed school. You know what they were studying in history, World War II. You know where she was? Pearl Harbor. You know, like, I just. I like being able to have that.
Yeah. It's this idea of expansion and not having to think inside the societal norms of a box and being able to. Being able to create whatever you want to create for your life and build your business around it and not the other way around. Right. Most of society are. Is building their life around their particular jobs. What the business inside of their job tells them that they have to do when they can take off of work, when they can spend time with their family, when. Or the school system. And when school dictates, you can take off. Whereas all of a sudden you're creating a business that gives you. Going back to permission. You give yourself permission to live life on your own terms, to allow yourself to bring in, not have a, you know, ceiling on what you can make from an income perspective and ultimately be able to live life the way you want to live it for your family, for yourself. And that's amazing. Most people don't get that.
And it's also a huge privilege that I don't overlook is to have that mindset and have that freedom. And it's something that I treasure and I value and I want to use to make the world better. And I used to hide it. I used to not want to flex it, because I would hear from people, it must be nice. And now, like, you were sharing, as far as posting it on social media, it's like, it's actually, I found, for the right people, inspirational rather than triggering.
You know, a millionaire wouldn't say to you, oh, it must be nice. They would say, good job, good job. Way to go. Right? It's the people that are feeling inferior or intimidated that have money blocks or mindset blocks that are saying, it must be nice. Like, this comes. We talk about this a lot when we go on retreat. We talk about money blocks, and it must be nice. Is that conditioning from childhood? Because. Is that conditioning from. From what situation Brings you to a place of saying it must be nice. And when did we stop supporting people in achieving their dreams and their goals, et cetera. And we could go down the rabbit hole on this one, but I just want to say, like, it must be nice, like start cheering people on and that will drive more impact than we know. Right.
And for the record, it is nice and I would invite you along the journey as well. I want to jump into the high ticket because this is something that I absolutely love. You know, I love talking about money and you know, I love talking about, you know, building wealth, maintaining wealth, and doing that in a way that's aligned with helping individuals and supporting individuals. And so another misconception is that it is easier to sell $1,097 courses than it is to sell $100,000 offer. And specifically for me, coming from doing corporate consulting and selling quarter of a million dollar contracts, I had the benefit of kind of learning backwards, like, of not starting with like an entrepreneurial $97 course. Although I did charge $97 for my first coaching of an entrepreneur. And it was for three hours for 97. Do you think that was probably well priced?
Hey, I can't knock anything. I started off for $25 a session. I mean, you got to do what you got to do right at the beginning. Right. Because you don't know what you don't know. And that's where going back to the failures and making mistakes and learning along the way. Right. But I also think you got to build testimonials. You got to believe in yourself and your craft. And if that's what it takes, then do what you got to do.
So is it easier to sell $100 versus 10,000?
No, it's the same. No, this, this myth is ridiculous. And it drives me crazy because it's the same objections you need to get over and through when you're having a conversation with somebody. And the whole idea of selling quantity over quality clients is exhausting. Like, think about that business model for a second. When you look at, when you look at companies, let's say you have a massive audience, you can sell low ticket, and guess what, it's probably going to bring you in a significant cash injection. And that's great. But when you have a small audience, a smaller audience, and you're selling low ticket, it takes you so much more effort to bring in the type of clientele, the numbers that you're looking for, and you're working just as hard as you would selling high ticket. So ultimately my recommendation would be Focus on high ticket first and then if you want to start building out the rest of your funnel, building out your mid and your low ticket, great, because you have the safety, the security of that high ticket revenue coming in, that reoccurring revenue. Right. You, your, your nervous system is regulated because you aren't worrying so much about what's coming in every single month. And so in reality, when we look at high ticket offers and why it's such a big deal, it creates a business model that allows you more freedom, more opportunity to then focus on those low ticket offers, the passion projects you want to do, the mid ticket, the organic funnel, the, you know, whatever it is that you want to do versus spending so much time and effort on something that isn't going to give you as much ROI in the end.
I love that. And what I've also found is that with my individual clients, you know, when I'm not working 40, 50, 60 hours a week, when I'm able to really focus on the individual clients, that high ticket offer, whether it's a mastermind or it's individual coaching, they're getting so much value because I'm not spreading it out to ten thousand hundred dollars clients. And I'm able to do more education, I'm able to do more self care. And like the coach that I show up then the speaker that I show up then, like that's just goal and that's what I want for my clients is for them to be able to bring the value and leave the minutia.
Exactly. I think I've always believed that hybrid, like a hybrid option makes the most sense. When I look at what I wanted as a coach. There has been this massive disconnect in social media, you know, when it comes to coaching and marketers that you can sell something and you know, you just need self led clients. Well, yeah, that's important. And why did they hire you in the first place? They hired you for support, for validation, to show them the way. I truly believe that this idea of human connection and being able to disassociate yourself and from clients is one big myth. It's not helping anybody. The goal here is to provide your client with an insane amount of value while scaling your time. And when we look, you know, like how do you provide an insane amount of value so that it drives results while scaling your time? And that concept in itself is super valuable. If you're thinking about building a high ticket offer, I would highly recommend looking at. You can do this both in group and, or one on one depending on the type of offer you want to create. But the goal here is like drive results, not just for them, but also for yourself.
Yeah. Because then you're showing up and when you do show up, you're showing up in that insane amount of value rather than diluting yourself, which I just absolutely love. The other thing I love is how efficient you are, because I normally ask guests what your definition of yes and is, but you've just been dropping those all throughout the podcast. You're living your yes. And so it was just so efficient and I absolutely love that.
Oh, you're so welcome.
