Bunny Young shares F Off Friday, a practice of taking Fridays off to restore creativity and health. She started it after a coaching prompt to design her ideal calendar, and her coach Sarah Lambert and several clients have adopted it too. Some of the most popular concepts that take off are simple. You think about Mel Robbins, counting down from five, Tim Ferriss, four hour workweek, Kate Northrup, do less. The simple concepts are the easiest to implement, the most simple to implement, and they take off in our life. Welcome to the yes and Podcast. I am Bunny Young, your host and head of inspiration, and I'm thrilled for you to be back here again, or maybe for the first time, because that means that you are ready to upgrade and change this current model for doing life into this new model where it's the business of having it all and being able to live your life in a way that is 100% aligned with your vision and your dreams. Which is why today I have an incredible thing that I want to talk to you about. And this is something that I have been practicing for a couple years. It's been a game changer. And very recently, a couple months ago, I shared it with one of my coaches. She started posting about it on Instagram and it's absolutely blown up. So I want to share it with you and then you can start tagging me when you're doing it as well on Instagram. So being able to create your own schedule, I don't know about you, and if you're listening to this and you're an entrepreneur, it's probably one of the reasons that you became an entrepreneur. And what I want to share with you today is a simple concept called the F Off Friday. So F off Friday is a concept that, like I said, I came up with when I realized that I was gonna make my own calendar, I was gonna make my own schedule. And I had a coach ask me, like, what would be optimal for you? Not what do you think you could do? Like, what would be optimal? Now, remember, coming from a background as a therapist and a background, you know, in working in corporate and working in companies, I kind of just thought that, like, Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, and being on call on the weekends, being available was kind of the way that we did things. It's not. And so in our Defy program, I started from being coached on this, I use that tool, and delivered it to our Defy program and was like, if you could make your model calendar, your ideal calendar, what would it look like? What would it, what would it have? What would it be? And I realized I was going to take Fridays off. Like, you know how excited you get when you, like, have a holiday on a Monday or you have an extended weekend? It's like, why not have that every single week? Like I make my own freaking calendar. Why not do that? So I declared that we were going to have F off Fridays and I would take the whole Friday off to do whatever I wanted to do. Now, the caveat for that is if I wanted to work, I could work for a certain period of time. But some percentage of my Friday was B to just to F off. And this improved my creativity, this improved my mental health, this improved my physical health because it got me moving more instead of just sitting at a desk. And it was something that I look forward to every single day. And so about maybe six months ago, seven months ago, I shared this with my coach at the time, Sarah Lambert. She has an incredible podcast, too. You could totally check her out. And I said, you know, this is my F off Friday. Or we were scheduling. I think we were scheduling something. And I said, well, I don't do meetings on Fridays because it's my F off Friday. And she was like, tell me more about this. And so I shared it with her. And then on social media, like the next week, she was like, you know, Bunny shared with me this F off Friday. Here's my first F off Friday. Here's what I'm doing. And it seriously has taken off with her community. I see almost every Friday, she posts her F off Friday, and then at least one client, like, tags her in a post that has the F off Friday as well. And I realized I was like, I've kept this to myself, so of course I'm going to come on here and share it with my podcast community. So you're welcome for that. It's one of the many benefits of being coached is like, you get to have a mirror back to you of the simple things that you take for granted in your life, how impactful and amazing they can be. What are the rules for an F off Friday? We just had the rules for what the 75 hard business edition Bunny Edition was going to be. Now, what are the rules for an F off Friday? You get to do whatever the F it is that you want to do. Like, you can. Even if you can only take half of an F off Friday. You get to go get your nails done. You get to go hike that trail that you've been waiting to hike. You get to go to the bowling alley. Like, whatever your heart's desire, unleash your inner child and go hog wild. Just be able to have that freedom that we all work so hard to have in the sometimes future, distant future time. Do it right now. And if you can only do once a month, then Just have one F off Friday per month. Like, go ahead. I worked with a client who is an executive and saved up all their PTO so that the last two months, I think it was two months, maybe even three months of the year, they could take every single Friday off. And it was absolutely beautiful. I loved it. And so the only rule is that you have to enjoy yourself. You have to do something that is fun. You have to do something that you love and take care of. You fill your cup. And like I said, some days I choose to work on my F off Friday. So that's really simple. Like it's a really simple concept on what the F off Friday is. Some of the most popular concepts that take off are simple. You think about Mel Robbins counting down from five and Tim Ferriss the four hour work week. The simple concepts like Kate Northrup do less. The very simple concepts are what are the easiest to implement, the most simple to implement, and they take off in our life. And so you've got your calendar in front of you. Here's my challenge for you and you can let me know on stage, tag me on Instagram, unnyhas and the number 6 and then L E G S because I have a service dog. And so tag me, let me know what you're doing on your F off Friday. This is the new normal. This is the way we're upgrading our lives and we are being able to step into life by our design, life designed for us. Absolutely love that. And before we wrap, I wanted to remind you that we have had some of the most epic guests on our podcast as we're launching. And I have one of the most special people that has helped me on my journey. Coming up next in it's either the next episode or one right after that. So if you are listening and you're like, you know, this is kind of brilliant, I want to share with you one of the people that's been behind that. So stay tuned for that. Make sure that you subscribe, you hit the follow button. It totally helps. Not just you and me with this podcast, but it helps other people be able to find the yes. And podcast organically. And then of course, sharing it on social media, taking a screenshot of what you're listening to, your favorite episode, giving it a five star review. All of that totally helps as well. And it is so beyond appreciated from my heart, I want to thank everybody at home or wherever you have taken me on the go for listening. I have enjoyed this journey. I hope you have too. If you have any questions about the F Off Friday or anything else about how to actually have more while doing less, please send me a DM on Instagram. Unny has six legs. I read every single one that I get. And whether you're giving me an episode idea, a guest recommendation, or just letting me know how this particular episode landed for you, what you did with your F Off Friday, I would love to hear from you. I am Bunny Young with my service dog, Guinness, sleeping and snoring in the background. Hopefully my producer edits that out and I will see you on the next episode.
